The Hatchery at Heather Hill

The "Hatchery" is a bright and cheery cottage nestled in the Sierra foothills. Our guest house is attached to our main residence, on a 10.9 acre parcel, down a private road. We are here if you need us, but respect your privacy if not! We are 12 miles from Placerville, 7 miles from Apple Hill and close to local wineries. For winter fun, we are 43 miles (drive time 1 hour) from Sierra at Tahoe. Please note: We are NOT close to the freeway, and there are several windy roads in and out of our area.

The fall colors are spectacular for a hike up scenic Highway 88! Our apartment is located under our main house, with its own keyless private entrance. You'll enjoy a quiet and peaceful setting among tall pines, with wildlife abound. Amador County is rich in gold mining history, and has many charming gold rush towns for you to visit. If your travel journeys include both Yosemite and Lake Tahoe, we are conveniently located between the two ( 2 1/2 hours from Yosemite, and 1 and 1/2 from Tahoe)

(Formerly Apple Country White House.) Welcome to our romantic getaway for two! This historic miner's cabin, which has been renovated, is located in the heart of Apple Hill, in the Sierra Nevada foothills, and overlooks a small meadow and creek. Walk to nearby farms, breweries & wineries or just relax on the back deck and enjoy the scenery. Visit historic Placerville, its galleries, restaurants, shops & more! Raft, ski, kayak, or just explore our 40-acre farm trails! (We are pet friendly.)

The original miners shack was fully renovated by a designer/builder team to create this creek side escape. The home is located off the beaten path, 35 minutes to the summit of the Sierra, 20 minutes to historical Placerville and other gold rush attractions, and just a few minutes to many of the apple hill farms. Note: This is a RURAL location.
