Vacation rentals with a kayak in Cape Breton Island

Our friend group of 14 had a great time at Sheena and Bryce's beautiful house. The spacious living room was perfect to play boardgames. The kitchen was perfectly equipped to cook for our big group too. The place is very quieted and very conveniently located to be close enough to do day trips to the Cabot trail. We would love to come back.

This is a dream location. There are lots of windows to fill up with spectacular views of the ocean. The cottage is lovely and comfortable with an open space to unwind and soak up the beauty of the place. Lots of necessities in tge cupboards. All you need for an unforgettable stay.

Spent Christmas week, location was beautiful n peaceful yet easy enough for family and friends to find. The two living areas made it great for entertaining family. Laura was very approachable and facilitated any needs we had.

Overall great stay, one suggestion I have is for the hosts to disclose in the listing that it is the basement apartment only.

We loved our month-long stay, the house here are the highlights: Residence in a good location to discover the island of Cap Breton and its surroundings. Very quiet place away from the neighbors, right across the marina. Beautiful residence, very clean, full of beautiful windows, comfortable and well air-conditioned Very popular outdoor fire pit and pergolas. All services and restorations are within a mile Nature is very present all around the house (deer, foxes, squirrels, crabs, cormorants, herons, blue jay, fishing martin, etc.). Things to consider: No curtain in the master bedroom. No mosquito net in all the windows then, chose mosquitoes or air conditioning. Dining table for only 6 people seated (advertised; maximum of 8 guests). Very briefly equipped kitchen Many light bulbs are burned inside and out and none A big thank you to our hosts for the stay!

There are not enough words to say how outstanding the experience was at Caper Landing and with our host Nikki. I don’t know what else could have been provided but a generous basket of gifts including a lobster stuffie and knit swag toque hats for all 10 of us set the scene for all the delights of the place. So many amenities, even fireproof blankets for the fire pit, the spa like bathrooms, the most fully equipped kitchen I had ever seen, all added up to a luxury hotel experience with Airbnb convenience for a large party. Both levels were unbelievably kitted out, with the lower level giving us all we needed in a second gathering space with all the toys including shuffleboard, games, card table and so much more. Two mirrored floors of beds and baths, with two principle suites and two extra full baths meant everyone had privacy and restful retreats. Everything was first class and beyond. We are booking our return for next year! Brava, Nikki, you rock!

Jennie and Guy were amazing hosts. They were extremely helpful and accommodating. Their cozy home has ample space on the main level for indoor living if you ever needed a break day. The deck is large and private and probably my favourite part of the house. The kitchen is extremely well stocked which made cooking away from home an enjoyable experience. The home gets a great breeze from the ocean which kept things cool on the inside and left us with no bugs on the outside! Jennie and Guy provided some excellent tips for things to do in the area and we used the home as a jump off point to see many other fun things in Cape Breton. While not immediately on the ocean, you can still see it from the deck and they were happy to share their kayaks and paddle board with us. A very nice perk which you won't find in many places. The little island is picturesque with lots of beautiful scenery to explore. The local beach was sandy and warm and the two pubs we went to were quite nice as well. Overall, I would highly recommend it. The value for money was extremely fair and we had a great experience overall. Thanks for the memories!

What a wonderful place! We had such a lovely time and did not want to leave. The property is gorgeous all around and the view is absolutely spectacular. It’s quiet and peaceful with lots of space yet still close to amenities. The cottage is beautiful inside too - it’s very clean, cozy and comfortable. The hosts and property manager are incredible with excellent communication. Every aspect of our stay was delightful and we would love to return!

Kirk and Kelley were very welcoming and lovely. The cottage was easy to locate and had some stunning views of the mountains and the lake. Thank you for hosting us and would indeed return for another get away in the future.

Very peaceful and relaxing place to stay. The area is beautiful and quiet. The kayaks are great to paddle around in the calm water, and the fire pit is perfect for cooler evenings. We had numerous cloudy days and no trouble with the solar power. The hosts are very responsive and helpful.

Was a great stay and can’t wait to come back very peaceful and enjoyed going out on the kayaks and visiting the islands. Took time out of her day to come and greet us as well. thanks again for the wonderful stay

Our stay at this property was fantastic! The house was spotless, and it had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. The location on the lake was absolutely stunning, and having kayaks available was a wonderful bonus. It made our trip to Cape Breton and the Cabot Trail even more enjoyable. Communication with the host was seamless, with clear instructions and a thorough description provided. We highly recommend this place and would love to stay again!

This was an awesome cottage right on the water. It was so nice to walk the beaches in Port Hood steps from the cottage. Managed to get in the last of Celtic Colors but were surprised by everything closing. We left on Monday morning but by Sunday almost everything was closed including one of the 2 restaurants in the town. The amenities in the cabin were great. Loved the views! Comfortable beds. Very clean. Highly recommend Patrick’s listing. You won’t regret it.

A lovely, modern home with a perfect lake view and access to the water! We really enjoyed the design of the home, with tons of windows (but don't stay here if the thought of things watching you from the woods freaks you out! But nothing is watching you...). The living/kitchen area is open and airy, with sliding patio doors that open toward the lake and a deck. Nice wood-burning fireplace. Very functional kitchen, easy to cook in. Well-separated bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms would make this great for a family (or just 2 people, as we were). Infloor heating is nice. Kayaks and other outdoor things available. No TV, but we were OK with that (and used our computer and the fast internet connection when we wanted to watch something). We had not been to Cape Breton before and liked this location - 10 minutes to Baddeck and about 1.5 hrs. to the south end of Cape Breton Highlands National Park (either west or east coast). Lots of hiking near-by, appreciated the host's ideas on that.

Truly a unique and beautiful place. The lodging was cozy and comfortable and the location was perfect. Thank you for sharing your space!

A little slice of heaven with a great floor plan for a couples retreat! The area feels extremely private and well taken care of. The hosts are very flexible, friendly, and responsive.. as well as being clearly passionate about wanting their guests to have the best over all experience- I mean there’s even in floor heat in the bathroom, a very pleasant surprise if you plan to book in the shoulder seasons. Would recommend this airbnb to anyone!

I stayed here with co-workers while away for work. We really enjoyed the stay. The cottage had everything we needed, was spacious and comfortable. The view of the lake is beautiful. We explored along the shore and saw a variety of birds. We didn’t have time to kayak but they have everything needed. It would be a good area to explore by bike lots of quiet roads to ride and Marble mountain a half hour drive away is a very nice view. This would be a great spot for a family cottage vacation. The deck is large and has a bbq. We bbq’d and ate supper’s outside. We enjoyed the sauna in the basement. We enjoyed using Netflix while there. The cottage is set up with accessible features such as a ramp, a special toilet, and lazy boy chair for those who have limited mobility. Make sure to map out your directions before you get out of cell service. There is little to none cell reception in that area. The place was as described in the ad. We would return, next time for a vacation!

The cabin was great and the beds were super comfortable! The only downside was that it was difficult to locate but if we had stayed for more than one night, I’m sure it would’ve gotten easier. Everything else was perfect and the view of the lake was gorgeous!
