Vacation rentals with lake access in Castelo Branco District

This was likely the best experience we’ve ever had on Airbnb! The home exceeded all expectations—beautifully presented, incredibly comfortable, and even better than described. The location was perfect, and it had every amenity we could possibly need. Our host went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and well taken care of. We’re so grateful—thank you! We couldn’t recommend this place more highly.

This is a one of a kind experience! Outside terrace with the grill is a wonderful spot to kick back, have a drink and enjoy the sunset. Beautiful old furniture and accessories that make you look twice. Beds are a little short for me with my 1,98 meter. But there is one without a foot board, so I still could stretch my legs. Kitchen provides you with everything you’ll need. If you visit during winter, bring some warm socks; the floor can get chilly. Highly recommended!

As nossas expectativas relativamente à Casa da Saudade eram à partida muito elevadas e, mesmo assim, foram totalmente superadas em todos os aspectos. A casa é muito confortável e acolhedora, os quartos e a sala são espaçosos, a cozinha tem todos os equipamentos necessários mas o que verdadeiramente nos deixou fascinados foram os exteriores. Todo o espaço exterior é verdadeiramente paradisíaco, não havendo palavras que lhe façam justiça. Todos os dias demos mergulhos no rio, fizemos churrascos, apanhamos sol na rede e nas espreguiçadeiras, fizemos caminhas pelos inúmeros trilhos e ainda passeamos de barco. Éramos 6 adultos e todos concordamos em que este foi um dos locais mais bonitos que conhecemos. Todo o contacto com o Cláudio foi rápido, cordial e eficaz. Recomendamos vivamente a Casa da Saudade e contamos repetir a experiência, sem margem para dúvidas.

Our group of 13 had an incredible time at this lakeside house! The accommodations were super comfortable, providing ample space for all of us. The highlight was definitely the fantastic outdoor area, perfect for group gatherings and relaxation. Nuno, the host, was outstanding. He went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. We took advantage of the boat rental for water sports like skiing, wakeboarding, and wakesurfing, and it was an absolute blast. Nuno's expertise and equipment made it all possible, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. If you're looking for a lakeside retreat with a fantastic host and plenty of fun activities, this is the place to be. Our group had a fantastic time, and we can't wait to come back for more adventures by the lake!

O Nuno através do Lugar da Borralheira transformou a Páscoa da família Rocha. Tudo impecável, desde as instruções para a casa até à locais de interesse. Foi tudo feito de uma forma super fácil e acessível. Em casa tudo foi além das espetativas, pois quando entras sabes que estás a vontade e que do outro lado está o Nuno sempre pronto a ajudar. O Nuno sempre se disponibilizou em todos os momentos para os tornar mais fáceis desde instruções para a casa, quer a servir de guia em vários pontos de interesse. Recomendo seguramente esta estadia. Le paradis ! un havre de paix, entouré de la rivière, de la nature. Une maison absolument magnifique et tout confort. Nous nous sommes vraiment ressourcés et notre passage de 3 jours chez Paula a été le notre meilleure expérience au Portugal. Les alentours sont splendides: les petits villages de schiste, la campagne, Coimbra, les maisons des villages aux alentours, les jardins. Nous envisageons un jour de revenir, c'est une maison qui créée des souvenirs !

A Lianne é o Ricardo mostraram-se sempre disponíveis e preocupados para qualquer dúvida que eu tivéssemos, os dias que passámos lá foram muito agradáveis. O Ricardo apresentou nos todas as éguas que tinha na quinta e até nos deixou montar numa delas, a Boneca. Obrigada aos dois por nos fazerem sentir em casa.

We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at Carla’s impeccable ground floor apartment, which more than met all our requirements. It is furnished to the highest standard, and the kitchens and bathrooms are very well-appointed, with great walk-in showers. We liked the quiet location on the leafy outskirts of town, and the proximity to some very good restaurants (we can recommend both Dona Ferreirinha and Arena di Verona). With no fewer than three large windows in the sitting/dining area, it is a very light and airy apartment. It is easy to find free parking spaces outside the block. We would not hesitate to recommend the apartment warmly, and to stay there again were we to revisit Castelo Branco, a most attractive town, with some great places to visit nearby, including the villages of Monsanto, Penamacor and Idanha-a-Velha. In the town itself the magnificent Baroque gardens of the bishop's palace should not be missed.

O sítio é perfeito para escapar do stress do dia a dia. Com a barragem a 2 minutos a pé e kayaks ao dispor não há nada melhor. Perfeito para explorar a natureza à volta e conhecer mais do belo país que temos. O contacto e as interações com o Pedro foram sempre impecáveis. 100% recomendável.

Très beau logement, bien équipé. Bel environnement en pleine nature. Attention, des logements de vacances sont en construction aux alentours, occasionnant quelques nuisance sonores mais ça ne devrait pas durer. Hôte pas très réactif dans les échanges mais répond toujours aux messages au final. Je recommande.

Boa estadia, espaço com muita qualidade, zona extremamente calma para descansar do stress citadino, zona envolvente muito gira para quem gosta de caminhar e passear pela natureza. Recomendo.

We stayed at Liedewij's & Joey's place on the last few days of the year, and it was absolutely wonderful! They are incredibly nice, made us feel at home, and even invited us to their new year celebration. The place is embedded in nature, perfect to regenerate for a few days. It's an excellent location, facing the lake. It's very peaceful. Pedro always replies promptly. I highly recommend it. I want to book again for my next vacation.

We had a brilliant time at Canto Do Zêzere - the house is really clean, spacious and comfortable, and the lakeside location is absolutely stunning. Boating on the lake was a highlight! We would definitely come back again.

This is a great space in a real out-of-the-way part of Portugal. Tired of big city tourism? Try this property. Tiny villages dot the hills and you get an old world sense of Portugal here. The pool is the real star of the property here (as are Eric's three dogs, one of which lounged with us each morning) as it overlooks he view of the river. We did use the kayaks as well. It is hard to get to them down a very steep hill with ladders and a bit of minor repelling. Not for those with a bad knee or hip. Which gets me to, accessing the apartments, particularly the lower unit, is tricky. Steep, slanting and uneven steps that can be a little slippery. Perhaps not for the elderly. Hint for improvement would be to upgrade the furnishings and kitchenware. The knives couldn't cut an orange.

Ficámos 3 noites e gostámos muito do espaço e da gentileza dos anfitriões. Ofereceram fruta, pão, uma garrafa de vinho e algumas orientações sobre sítios que queríamos visitar. O espaço era muito acolhedor!
