Vacation rentals with lake access in Castelo Branco District

As a group of 8 people (young people), we can only thank you for the welcome, the friendliness and the wonderful space. Even in January, we did not resist a swim 😝 we intend to return!

This was likely the best experience we’ve ever had on Airbnb! The home exceeded all expectations—beautifully presented, incredibly comfortable, and even better than described. The location was perfect, and it had every amenity we could possibly need. Our host went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and well taken care of. We’re so grateful—thank you! We couldn’t recommend this place more highly.

This is a one of a kind experience! Outside terrace with the grill is a wonderful spot to kick back, have a drink and enjoy the sunset. Beautiful old furniture and accessories that make you look twice. Beds are a little short for me with my 1,98 meter. But there is one without a foot board, so I still could stretch my legs. Kitchen provides you with everything you’ll need. If you visit during winter, bring some warm socks; the floor can get chilly. Highly recommended!

Our group of 13 had an incredible time at this lakeside house! The accommodations were super comfortable, providing ample space for all of us. The highlight was definitely the fantastic outdoor area, perfect for group gatherings and relaxation. Nuno, the host, was outstanding. He went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. We took advantage of the boat rental for water sports like skiing, wakeboarding, and wakesurfing, and it was an absolute blast. Nuno's expertise and equipment made it all possible, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. If you're looking for a lakeside retreat with a fantastic host and plenty of fun activities, this is the place to be. Our group had a fantastic time, and we can't wait to come back for more adventures by the lake!

O Nuno through the Place of Borralheira transformed the Passover of the Rocha family. Everything impeccable from house instructions to places of interest. It was all done in a super easy and affordable way. At home everything went beyond the spetatives, because when you get there you know that you are at ease and that on the other side is Nuno always ready to help. Nuno has always made himself available at all times to make them easier since instructions to the house, or to serve as a guide in various points of interest. I safely recommend this stay. Paradise! a haven of peace, surrounded by the river, nature. An absolutely beautiful and comfortable home. We really refreshed ourselves and our 3-day stay at Paula's was our best experience in Portugal. The surroundings are splendid: the small shale villages, the countryside, Coimbra, the houses of the surrounding villages, the gardens. We plan to come back one day, it's a house that creates memories!

The place was exactly what we were looking for, easy access, clean with what you need to have a comfortable stay. Swimming pool was lovely and glad we had air con! Also great to have a bakery opposite who serve lovely coffee, bread and cake.

We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at Carla’s impeccable ground floor apartment, which more than met all our requirements. It is furnished to the highest standard, and the kitchens and bathrooms are very well-appointed, with great walk-in showers. We liked the quiet location on the leafy outskirts of town, and the proximity to some very good restaurants (we can recommend both Dona Ferreirinha and Arena di Verona). With no fewer than three large windows in the sitting/dining area, it is a very light and airy apartment. It is easy to find free parking spaces outside the block. We would not hesitate to recommend the apartment warmly, and to stay there again were we to revisit Castelo Branco, a most attractive town, with some great places to visit nearby, including the villages of Monsanto, Penamacor and Idanha-a-Velha. In the town itself the magnificent Baroque gardens of the bishop's palace should not be missed.

The site is perfect to escape the stress of everyday life. With the dam 2 minutes walk and kayaks at your disposal there is nothing better. Perfect for exploring the surrounding nature and getting to know more of the beautiful country we have. The contact and interactions with Pedro have always been impeccable. 100% recommended.

Very nice accommodation, well equipped. Beautiful environment surrounded by nature. Be careful, vacation homes are under construction nearby, causing some noise disturbances but this should not last. Host not very responsive in communication but always responds to messages in the end. I would recommend it.

Good stay, space with a lot of quality, extremely quiet area to rest from city stress, very cool surrounding area for those who like to walk and stroll through nature. I recommend it.

We stayed at Liedewij's & Joey's place on the last few days of the year, and it was absolutely wonderful! They are incredibly nice, made us feel at home, and even invited us to their new year celebration. The place is embedded in nature, perfect to regenerate for a few days. Million dollar view, amazing area and peaceful place to have a great time to enjoy our vacation

We had a brilliant time at Canto Do Zêzere - the house is really clean, spacious and comfortable, and the lakeside location is absolutely stunning. Boating on the lake was a highlight! We would definitely come back again.

This is a great space in a real out-of-the-way part of Portugal. Tired of big city tourism? Try this property. Tiny villages dot the hills and you get an old world sense of Portugal here. The pool is the real star of the property here (as are Eric's three dogs, one of which lounged with us each morning) as it overlooks he view of the river. We did use the kayaks as well. It is hard to get to them down a very steep hill with ladders and a bit of minor repelling. Not for those with a bad knee or hip. Which gets me to, accessing the apartments, particularly the lower unit, is tricky. Steep, slanting and uneven steps that can be a little slippery. Perhaps not for the elderly. Hint for improvement would be to upgrade the furnishings and kitchenware. The knives couldn't cut an orange.
