Maybe the best holiday home we’ve stayed in! The home is gorgeous and extremely comfortable, and full of thoughtful touches. We felt right at home. As it is right above the (excellent) wine bar, it was noisy on the Friday night, but this was no problem for us - in fact, we enjoyed it, and our kids, who slept in the smaller room, didn’t even notice. However, this plus the stairs up to the apartment might make it not ideal for all guests. Pippa was lovely and super responsive, and the village has excellent pubs/restaurants, plus a great bakery and coffee shop. We will definitely stay here again if Pippa will have us - we can’t recommend it highly enough.

We stayed at Shaun's cottage for two nights as we were attending a wedding at nearby Thorpe Gardens. Shaun had provided us with very clear instructions for check in and finding his place; we were driving from Birmingham and had no problems with our arrival experience. Shaun's cottage was very clean, fresh and tidy. The kitchen and living room were very cosy and provided a lovely respite for us. The bedroom and bathroom were also very clean with little clutter. The cottage has a lovely outlook to a garden space, it's a perfect hideaway for anyone looking for a country escape. Unfortunately we weren't staying for too long so we didn't get to explore the area, but would very much consider returning to the cottage for a holiday in the area.

Lovely place to stay, especially if you are thinking of visiting the National Memorial Arboretum. 30 minutes walk along the canal to a very nice pub, The Swan at Fradley junction. Hosts were extremely helpful and gave clear instructions. Would definitely recommend.

As we now have Family dotted around the UK, we stay at some nice little B&B's and searched for a 2 night stay near Swadlincote for our latest family move .We searched for a while and kept going to our 1st choice and were lucky that the 2 nights we were staying were available at the Coach House in nearby Netherseal. The Coach House is a perfect little Gem. The Hostess Lynda has literary thought of everything, lncluding a loaf of freshly homebaked bread, freerange eggs laid by the resident hens (amazingly tasty yolks) pots of jam, orange juice and milk, cereal and bottomless tea , coffee,sugar ( No silly little sachets here) The room has so much Character with exposed beams, storage room, a sofa and TV to chill and watch after a long day out visiting the countless places to visit nearby. The room was spotless , with comfy bed and fluffed up pillows (which is essential when staying away from home ) My wife and I would love to return to this little Gem we return on our next visit.
