“I have been staying at Gerry and Maureen's apartment, as I had to move from my own house, due to being a frontline worker during the coronavirus pandemic. I cannot say enough good things about Gerry and Maureen's place. It is spotless, with lots of lovely thoughtful touches. Gerry and Maureen are incredibly generous and accommodating hosts, who have gone out of their way to make me welcome. I cannot recommend their apartment enough, ideally situated for a visit to Cork.”
This lovely cosy cottage is situated along the Wild Atlantic Way about 20 minutes from Kinsale on the R600 coast road. Have a look at https://www.facebook.com/irelandswaw to get a feel for this unique part of Ireland.
“Enda’s place was very clean and comfortable. It was farther away from things than I realized, which is my fault for not paying enough attention to that. It would be a fantastic space if you were not sightseeing and just wanted to stay there, take some lovely walks and relax. Kinsale, about 30 minutes away, is a great town to spend the day in. I wish we had had time to take some of the great walks Enda suggested. Her directions to her place were also easy to follow; very detailed. And the food at the Pink Elephant as she suggested was great! Get the sticky toffee pudding for sure!”
Our warm and welcoming cottage, boasts an original inglenook fireplace with solid fuel burning stove and exposed stone. The walls are at least one meter thick and the cottage predates the Irish famine.
“We had an amazing 3 day break in this refurbished Irish cottage. Aisling and Donagh were fantastic hosts - with the fire lit and fresh brown bread on arrival. The weather was wild but this only added to the cosiness of our stay as we curled up while it stormed outside. Donagh relit the fire for us each evening so the place was cosy on our return, and was kind enough to give us plenty of recommendations for the area. We had our dog Jack with us too who loved it as much as we did. We would highly recommend this as a venue for a romantic escape to the Wild Atlantic West. Thanks again to Aisling and Donagh for a great stay!”
