My simple, comfortable and affordable cottages are located near the tip of the Door Peninsula and a short walk from the village of Gills Rock, a favorite destination for kayakers and cyclists. The area boasts some of the best fishing in Door County. The cottages are a short drive from the rugged, unspoiled beauty of Newport State Park, a semi-wilderness area offering hiking, swimming from an expansive sand beach, and nature activities. You can also enjoy a trip on an excursion boat or the Washington Island Ferry across the beauty of Death's Door Passage to Washington Island, the oldest Icelandic settlement in North America. Divers can explore shipwrecks remarkably well preserved in the cold water of Death's Door. A spectacular Fourth of July fireworks display, unique shops, fresh and smoked fish, an excellent restaurant, and the Maritime Museum are some of the things that make Gills Rock a special place to stay.The many performances, restaurants, galleries and shops of Door County are also easily accessible.
