“I booked a short break to stay at Sally's place, the studio room is ideal for a single traveller or a couple. The room was very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable. It was a struggle to get up in the mornings! The road outside the house was very quiet, also the parking space was safe and easy to use. The kitchen facilities were suitable for my needs and the small dining table was ideal. The shower is compact but was good enough for my short stay. The bathroom was very clean. Sally's location is good for road transport links and the local rail station at Romiley is only 10mins walk away if you need to travel into Manchester. I'm sure that I will stay at Sally's place again when I'm next in the North West.”
The Smithy is a delightful stone detached, single storey cottage with a turf and heather roof, hand carved oak doors and a woodburning stove. The cottage boasts amazing views over Swinshaw reservoir surrounded by the beautiful Peak District moorland.
“The Smithy is a cute, comfortable and cosy cottage with oak doors, a log burner, a super comfy bed and lovely farmhouse furnishings. Perfect size for a couple for a weekend away! Picturesque walks opposite your door, good pubs and also on the outskirts of other places of interest within the peaks. Julie and her daughter were both lovely hosts, we got homemade bread (still warm) delivered to our door on our first morning which was to die for! The kitchen is compact yet workable, we managed a fry up both mornings! Netflix is an amazing addition, home from home especially after a nice long walk! I wouldn't hesitate recommending anyone to stay here. It is a beautiful little find. Waking up to green hilly field views and sheep out of your window is a real treat! Thank you for a lovely weekend!”
Our lovely little cottage is about 200 years old. It's cosy and slap bang in the middle of some of the best scenery the UK has to offer. Excellent for walking, cycling or simply site seeing the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District National Park. Castleton is such a pretty little town with it's own castle, 7 watering holes (all dog friendly) fabulous restaurants and delightful cafes. We are situated between Bakewell and Buxton. PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT CHARGE FOR CLEANING YOU ARE ON HOLIDAY!
“Marianne's cottage excels in every conceivable aspect. The cottage is very pleasant to be in, it is cosy, well furnished, with decent amenities. It is in a wonderful location - views of Mam Tor and the ridge just outside the windows, and on a quiet lane in Castleton, 5 minutes walk from the restaurants and pubs. Marianne herself was very communicative and able to answer any questions I had. Her cottage is the perfect base for walking/hiking around Hope Valley, or for exploring the villages of the valley. I would choose to stay here if and when we return to the Peak District. Brilliant stay.”
