This place is highly recommended! This cottage is absolutely adorable, it sits beside Dominique and Alain's house on a cute little pond. There are cats and geese and ducks wandering around, but they didn't make any noise at all! Inside, the cottage is so clever in the layout, with everything you need, from kitchen supplies (vinegar, oil, salt, sugar) to blankets and thick towels. The bed was very comfortable and the Vellux blinds kept it very dark upstairs. Alain gave me tips on hiking (I did the Ballade des Katts walk to the monastery directly from the path beside the property). The local beer in the fridge was a very nice touch and the WiFi worked perfectly, which was good because the cell reception was patchy. The landscape is beautiful and the WWI sights are poignant and well signposted. Don't miss the daily 8 pm commemoration for the fallen in Ypres at the Menon Gate.
