House vacation rentals in Gournes Gouvon

We had a great stay at the place. The large garden and the great views of the bay of Heraklion were amazing. The house itself was a little smaller than expected, especially with two almost adult children. The surfaces of the kitchen could have been cleaner and the dishwasher was unfortunately broken. These were the only criticisms. Jannis took care of us touchingly and contacted us again and again. The house is fantastically located at the end of a dead end and Google does not know the way there, but the directions from Jannis and Evi are perfect. A small tip: a car is mandatory! All in all it was a great holiday.

We came 5 people - my husband and I, with our 2 children and my mother-in-law. First of all, a few days before we arrived Elena (an amazing woman with a perfect english) contacted me and made sure she has all the details so she can prepare a perfect stay for us. The house was super clean and equipped, and the outside was the best! We spent hours in the pool enjoying the amazing nature around us. Elena and her husband Yiorgos are wonderful people - they were very kind, caring and responsive. We wish we could come again next summer 🙏🏻

This house was perfect for the four in our party, each having their own bedroom. The location was quiet and within walking distance to the beach and restaurants. Plenty of seating outside to enjoy evenings by the pool.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. If you aren’t sure if you should stay here or not, I promise you will love the place. It’s beautiful and the host was there to help me and answer questions. He even came to meet me when I got lost so I could follow him to the house! The inside of the house is absolutely gorgeous. The host left us inside enough food, snacks, and beverages to last a week, which was such a pleasant surprise. I recommend renting a car as access to the city is not within walking distance but even in the neighborhood there are two small restaurants and a little convenience store practically right outside the gates of the house. Heraklion is fun and Crete is a beautiful place to rent a car and visit sites. Even balos beach is doable in one day from there if you plan ahead. Then there are other beaches much closer and easier like Voulisma to the east. Or you can take a beautiful drive through the mountains and eat a great with w a view. Much to do! House is perfect!

We were well received! Angelina was a very nice woman to communicate with. The first night on arrival we got dinner from her because we were delayed 24 hours and the supermarkets were not open. Villa was very clean. Only downside was the wifi in the villa. The connection was very poor and in a room you had no connection at all. After we indicated that there was no wifi, she told me it would be taken care of. After we had raised this, we were in the villa for 9 days. During that remaining time, we didn't hear back from that. The taxi that was offered to take us was also a good taxi service. And all other activities and services offered were high quality. The cleaning ladies were good and thorough in their work which made the villa well maintained. In short, the wifi was a very nice vacation experience and a very nice host.

We felt completely comfortable at Pamela's place. The communication was through her son Lefteris – he responded super quickly and kindly to all messages and even gave us helpful tips on car rental. The house is perfectly located: close to the airport, close to the sea, but still pleasantly quiet. The apartment was very clean and cozy – you feel immediately welcome. Pamela herself is an incredibly warm-hearted host who cares lovingly. 🥰As a special highlight, she even surprised us with a homemade apple pie in the morning!😋 My five-year-old daughter especially loved the small walk from the house to the sea – with fantastic views. Sitting on the terrace in the evening, listening to the birds chirping, looking at the sea and watching the lights from the airport at night was simply magical. Pamela and Lefteris are hosts with heart – we highly recommend the place and will be happy to come back🫶☀️

We had such a lovely time staying at Anna and Leandros' apartment. They were very accommodating about the possibility of an early check-in, and both gave us a very warm and friendly welcome when we arrived. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and cosy, with lovely spots to sit out too. It was the perfect base to explore this side of Crete. Anna and Leandros truly are two of the nicest people we have met. They made sure we had a wonderful time in Crete, giving us lots of suggestions for family activities, places to eat and sights to visit. Thank you for making Crete such a special holiday. We hope to see you again one day, it would be so lovely to meet up if you ever visit the UK :-).

The house was great , new furniture with nice style , the host was there for everything I needed !!!

Having stayed in the area before, a quiet location was the most important aspect for me along with easy access to the beaches and a short walk into Hersonnisos. I couldn't have wished for a better location. The apartment was quiet with little traffic noise, compact and clean. The nearest beach was just a few minutes walk away with cafes and restaurants next to the beach. Hersonnisos itself was about 15 mins easy walk. The garden was a perfect spot for some sunbathing on those lazy days when you didn't want to leave comforts of home. It was an ideal suntrap. I didn't need anything from George on my 10 days, staying at Blue Coast Gardens -Juniper. but he was within easy reach with a whole host of helpful numbers and contacts made available, should have needed to contact him. It was great having a large comfortable double bed with good quality bedding and Aircon if it got too hot at night. All the equipment provided was in great working order, the apartment spotlessly clean. Loved it!!

A really nice and calm place with the beach in walking distance. Manos is a really friendly and relaxed person, who welcomed us warmly. Even when we locked ourselves out of the house, he was right there. Restaurants, a local supermarket with homemade honey and very good olive oil is just 5 minutes from the apartment. Would absolutely recommend! Thank you so much, we had a really great time!

We stayed at Villa Elena for a week. ( Family of five / three children age 8,11 and 14. The Villa was lovely - nicer than the photos. We loved the pool - great size, a bit bigger and deeper than expected. The view was was amazing, i miss it already. Beaches, restaurants and shops in walking distance. Everyone was so friendly. George was a brilliant host - very responsive and kind He spent time giving great recommendations which was very helpful. We loved our time in crete and would definitely recommend booking here.

Stella's Home was the most positive Airbnb experience I've ever had (and I've had some really lovely ones). The place is beautiful and the views are some of the best I've ever seen with the beach being only a 6 minute walk away. Stella was also an exceptional host. She stocked the fridge with some complementary groceries which made for a really positive start to our trip, especially after a day of traveling. It was also one of the most thoughtful things a host has done for one of my stays. Stella was also very communicative, checking in to make sure everything was going well for us and if we needed anything. The hot tub was amazing, the house was spotless and comfortable, the description of the space completely accurate. 5 days was not enough for us here and if I ever make it back to Crete, I will definitely be staying here again. Highly recommend!

Our stay at Christina’s was excellent. Exactly what we hoped for, a quiet village, clean space with everything we needed. The locals were friendly and we had plenty to do within a 30m drive any direction. Would recommend as a home base to explore the rural areas of Crete.

Very nice, quiet place to stay. The nearest village with supermarket and restaurants can be reached in about 15 minutes on foot.

Firstly - I would like to thank the host for extremely easy check in and out, for fantastic communication and outstanding hospitality. Emmanuel’s place feels like home you never had, cause it’s five minutes walk from the beach, restaurants and shops but you are surrounded by locals, avocado trees and cocks waking you up in the morning. In the house you will find everything you need including comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen, beach towels and many, many more. This is definitely one of those places you want to come back to.

We stayed at Vangelis's house for a week and a half. It's a beautiful home in a very nice location. Vangelis's father caught up with us. Both gentlemen are incredibly friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for everyone.

We spent a week at Margarita's house. It's a perfect match for the listing. It's a house "in its juice", but in an absolutely amazing setting, quiet and finally quite close to the places to visit. Margarita was a very kind, welcoming and caring host. She lives on the lower floor of the house, but remains very discreet. Her home has totally independent access. The view from the main room of the house is fabulous, same from the deck and pool. We spent long hours contemplating the hills, the sea and the sunsets. We recommend this place for its unique side. Even though the house is a little old-fashioned, it's nice to live in and comfortable.

Great villa with a great location near the main streets, the host was very welcoming and friendly. Everything was perfect, the pool and pool area are beautiful and clean. We went there with my friends and we had an amazing time. 100% recommend

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Manoli’s! The house was stunning, nestled in a beautiful village that made our two-night stay even more special. The property was fully equipped with everything we needed, making it feel like a home away from home. The host was excellent, maintaining great communication. We also loved the nearby restaurant, which was superb and added to the overall experience. We truly had a great time and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!

Top-notch hospitality, lots of wonderful attention from Katerina and her husband, a large quiet accommodation... For my first days in Crete, speaking succinctly only English outside my native language, the immersion nevertheless seemed totally and "simple". I would highly recommend it!
