Nestled up against the Witszenburg mountains just 9km outside beautiful and historical Tulbagh is this cozy one bedroom cottage. The wine farm offers a peaceful retreat where you can swim in the lake, hike among the proteas in the mountain and enjoy the nature of the Cape. Less than 90min from Cape Town, its the perfect weekend getaway to enjoy the beauty of one of the top rated small towns in South Africa!
“A lovely place for a short Cape Town getaway. We loved swimming in and watching sunset from the dam, and drinking coffee and braaing on the stoep - a great way to make the best of load shedding! Jenny was responsive and helpful, and we also enjoyed a quick visit to Tulbagh for lunch. Would definitely come back (and will recommend to all my friends with dogs!).”
If you haven’t been to Tulbagh before you are in for a wonderful surprise as there are so many things to do and see. Just 90 minutes from Cape Town and part of the Cape Winelands. This tranquil farming valley is nestled between three mountains, The Groot Winterhoek, The Witzenberg and the Obiqua. You will be staying on a beautiful farm with exclusive use of The Boathouse, situated at Oakhurst Olives, against the slopes of the Groot Winterhoek Mountains.
“The boathouse is every bit as scenic as it looks in the photos, and more! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, and the house has some wonderful, thoughtful touches that we felt added to its charm. The views are wonderful, the furnishings are very comfortable, and we had all we needed for a self-catering stay. The dogs came to visit us as well, and joined us for an evening walk which we (and they) loved. Thanks to our host Sue for a wonderful stay. Would definitely recommend the boathouse to anyone looking for a breathtaking spot out of town.”
We are proud to present the Geodome experience, nestled up against the Witzenburg mountain range about 10km from the historic town of Tulbagh. Keeping up with the increasing demand for experiential stays in stead of the traditional B&B, we have created this unique rental situated in our favourite part of a 270 hectare farm. Swimming, fishing, mountain biking, hiking and enjoying nature are some of the favourite activities our guests enjoy. And yes, the outdoor bathtub in the picture is real ;)
“South Africa started a 21-day shutdown, but I got the opportunity to visit heaven on earth before the shutdown started. I could talk about it for ages, but this place brought me so much joy and peace in such anxiety-ridden times. I was able to swim in the dam, cook a delicious meal, read in the sun, watch the most incredible sunset over the water, lay in the bath and watch shooting stars, and wake up to the wildlife coming alive in the morning. It is all of my favorite things. I love this place and I know you will love it too. Jenny, and the farm cat, were fantastic hosts. I plan to come back here often to visit!”
