Welcome to Casa Hale House, our little pink retro gem in the beautiful city of Merida. Featuring 2 bedrooms with king beds, each with their own ensuite bathrooms. We have a saltwater pool for lazy days, fast wifi, and a/c. Casa Hale House is a perfect colourful yet relaxing base for enjoying all the adventures, food, and culture the area has to offer. We value our home and our guests and want you to fall in love with Merida just as we have by choosing our happy piece of paradise.

The space
Two bedroom, two bathroom (max 4 people) one floor house in the vibrant and beautiful city of Merida, Mexico. A/C units in both bedrooms and in living room. High speed wifi with extender for backyard, tv and streaming apps. Both bathrooms are shower ensuites to the bedrooms with on demand hot water. Both bedrooms have firm king size beds with optional mattress pads for a softer feel. Screened jalousie windows. Ceiling fans in every room. Desk/workspace in extended space of main bedroom. Washer and drying line available for your laundry. Saltwater pool and sun loungers. Kitchen equipped with gas powered oven/stove. Weekly pool maintenance. Weekly cleaning provided if extended stay. No smoking on property and no pets due to allergies, please. While we love kids, this house is not appropriate for those with young children who cannot swim due to the openness around the pool.

Guest access
The whole property is yours to enjoy during your stay. We have a couple discreet owners closets and a pool maintenance room that are off limits but that is it.

Other things to note
We bought here because of the local feel, and we adore our Yucatecan neighbours. They are kind, fun, and ever vigilant in ensuring everyone is taken care of. We really lucked out with them and hope you feel the same way! Please expect the usual local noises of dogs being let out for a run around the yard, the two roosters a couple houses down having a crow-off, and local music being enjoyed. One of our neighbours down the street often has a little band come and play (we suspect he is in this band) and they are excellent & always on key. We love sitting outside on our loungers enjoying the music with our margaritas :). These local sounds are not isolated to our neighbourhood, it is a part of Mexico! We very much appreciate not having loud traffic noise so the ambient neighbourhood noise is a welcome trade off.

Neighbourhood highlights

Located in the neighbourhood of Sambula, two blocks from a large supermarket (Chedraui) and a movie theatre, and one block from one of the best bakeries in town. Avenida Itzaes is one of the main thoroughfares so it makes getting out of town for adventuring very easy. Walking 15 minutes north gets you to the zoo which is free! It’s about 10-15 minutes driving/Uber to Parque Santa Lucia/Centro, 40 minutes to Progreso (closest beach), 25 mins to Costco, and 10 mins from the airport.
