A PERSONAL NOTE

Casolena is our family’s favorite place to escape the rush of city life, but it’s much more than just a place. It’s an opportunity to slow down, to deeply connect with nature and with our loved ones. It has become a source of inspiration for our many passions from interior design, photography, to woodworking and home automation. More than anything, it holds our most cherished family moments: game nights, sunset paddles on the lake, cozy evenings by the camp fire under the Milky Way, the thrill of seeing aurora and ice pancakes for the first time, and countless more.

To our past guests, Casolena has been the setting for their milestone birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, multi-generational family reunions, a toddler’s first leap into the lake, or simply a much-needed rest. Thank you for sharing your stories with us, it truly makes our day to be part of it!

FUN FACTS

● The cottage features 77 glass window and door panels, totaling over 1,000 square feet of clear views. There are windows in five directions (the only direction without one is the ground 😊).
● The home was built on a 2-acre double lot, with vacant lots and trees on both sides, providing exceptional privacy and 250 feet of private shore line to explore.
● The wooden beams are not decorative. They are exposed structural elements, a hallmark of architecture from the 90s that is rarely seen in new builds today.


BEDROOMS

Designed with families and small groups in mind, Casolena Lakehouse offers various sleeping arrangements to suit different needs. There are 4 bedrooms with 6 beds in total.

● Delfina: King bed, immersive lake views, soothing waves, unforgettable sunsets. A guest-favorite, especially for couples.
● Cielo: Open loft with two full beds, walk-in closet, large ensuite, and walk-out balcony. Panoramic sky and lake views with natural light all day.
● Alba: Forest-facing queen bedroom with soft morning light. Quiet and ideal for light sleepers.
● Bosco: Twin-over-full bunk bed plus work nook. Forest-facing with an angled lake view. Great for kids, teens, or anyone needing a quiet retreat.

Additional information about the bedrooms:

● Alba, Bosco and Delfina are on the main floor.
● Cielo is the only second-floor bedroom and has no door, no sound barrier, no blind/curtain.
● Delfina has baseboard heating, but no central air or AC. Lake breezes and a portable fan keep it comfortable in summer. Has partial shade blinds.
● Alba and Bosco have blackout curtains.


LOCATION

Located in the heart of Northern Bruce Peninsula, near Johnson’s Harbour Dr. and Dorcas Bay Dr., and tucked away from the buzz. No restaurants or shops within walking distance. Essentials and dining are about a 25–30 minute drive away.

● Singing Sands Beach - 15 min
● Tobermory Town - 25 min
● The Grotto - 30 min
● Lion’s Head - 30 min

Comfort and convenience were at the heart of every decision we made in designing, furnishing and setting up this cottage. We always make sure Casolena has all you need for a light-pack trip and a stress-free stay, so you can truly relax and enjoy your time here.

SEASONAL AMENITIES

● Kayaks: available late May through September (weather permitting). A signed waiver is required before use.
● Christmas decorations: available from mid-November to early January. Dates may vary, please contact us if you need confirmation.
● Fire pit: use requires prior notification, is subject to municipal fire regulations and is not permitted during a fire ban.
● Outdoor amenities: fire pit, BBQ, and outdoor furniture may be unavailable in winter due to snow or ice. A shovel will be provided for self-service.

2. Know Before You Book
Please read our rental policy below to make sure you’re comfortable with everything: occupancy limits, no pets, local by-laws, etc.

3. Booking Request
Send your booking request with a short note about who’s coming with you and any special requests, so we can better prepare to welcome you.

4. Confirm Together
We’ll share the rental policy again for your review and request a guest list. Once all required information is provided, the booking will be confirmed. Airbnb provides 24 hours to finalize, so a quick response helps secure your stay faster.

5. Get Ready
Once confirmed, we’ll send you our home manual and additional information to help you prepare and make the most of your stay!


RENTAL POLICY (Key Points)

● Occupancy limit: 6 for group of individuals, extended to 8 for families. Extra fees apply for beyond 6 guests.
● Guest registration: We require full names of all guests aged 13 and above, and ages of all younger guests at the time of booking. Our property manager may ask for IDs upon arrival.
● Parties, events, or unregistered visitors are not permitted on the property at any time and may result in stay cancellation.
● Security cameras are in use along the driveway, around the exterior of the cottage at entry points, and at the lake front.
● Trash: Please take all trash with you upon departure (disposal sites are nearby).
● No pet. No shoes indoor. No smoking indoor. For outdoor smoking please ask host for further instruction.
● Fire safety: No firework at any time. Campfire is only allowed when there is no fire ban in effect, and prior notification is required.
● Noise: No outdoor speaker at any time, quiet hours between 11pm-7am.

LONG-WEEKENDS

While we generally accept groups of friends/coworkers (up to 6 people), we reserve long-weekends for family booking. If you are interested but unsure about this, please send us a message.

Contactless check-in with a smart lock code provided before your trip.

You will have access to the entire cottage except the basement and the locked cabinets in the laundry room (reserved for our maintenance team). Other structures outside the main cottage are also off-limits (garage, bunkie, and sheds).

What makes my home unique: Serene retreat with unforgettable views
We fell in love with Tobermory over a decade ago during our very first visit, and it’s held a special place in our hearts ever since. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, this area has been the backdrop for so many unforgettable family memories. We decided to open our cottage for others to enjoy, in hopes of sharing the wonderful moments we’ve found here. Words can’t truly capture it, you just have to experience it for yourself!
