Vacation rentals with lake access in Halifax

Great place for a big group of people. Lots of bedrooms and couches!! The basement was the perfect area to hang out in and having the hot tub was awesome.

We chose this place because it was close by and it is Winter. We had a big snow storm the day of our arrival. Fortunately we only had a 20 min drive and yet it felt like we were in the woods. Robert greeted us and showed us around his lovely home. It was a place where the whole family could spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day together. All eight of us declared it was the best family Christmas we had in a long time. The beauty could be seen from every window. We were provided with everything we needed to have meals together and to play games and the young adults loved the hot tub. Robert had a beautiful Christmas tree set up and there was lots of little cozy spots to have one on one chats with each other. We realized after meeting Robert that he would be so cool to hang out with but he had other family plans. We are seriously considering making it a new Christmas Tradition.

We were celebrating a 50th birthday with a spa day nearby. The 4 bedrooms was a dream! The house had all we needed and then some. The host was amazing from beginning to end. Responsive. Proactive. Friendly. We spent 2 stormy nights and we're cozy the whole time. Thanks for the great weekend.

A great place with plenty of space, character and charm. All the amenities were at hand and everything was well thought out. Definitely a super location for larger groups.

The house was nice and clean and in a quiet neighborhood. It was definitely further away from downtown Halifax and some other areas I was going to but the neighborhood felt very quiet and safe and was relatively close to gas, groceries and food. The host was quick to respond to questions and we had no issues. I felt the bed in the master was far too soft and low to the ground (personal preference). Overall, an easy and good stay.

Very cozy place! It was right by the water with a beautiful view. Very convenient as well. We were about a 30 minutes drive from Downtown Halifax. Ashley was very responsive and helpful. Beautiful place and amazing host! I'd stay there again. :)

Our family had a fantastic Christmas at Deanna’s. It looks exactly as advertised, and is just really comfortable. Deanna was very helpful and timely in responding to questions, prior to, and during our stay. She was very flexible and accommodating to meet our timing needs. Awesome location and view. The accommodation is great, well taken care of and great for a family stay. Will definitely stay here again if back in the area.

Zack and Yifei are great hosts! We chose their location for proximity to family we were visiting nearby. It’s definitely convenient if visiting the Bedford area. They have excellent taste and we appreciated the thoughtful decor touches and the clean, comfortable space. It’s a great space if you’re travelling with kids and our toddler loved his “special bed.” They were highly responsive, acting immediately to salt the driveway when we arrived and it was slippery from the night before. We only had a few issues, namely a bad wifi connection and the inability to access data from our phones inside due to poor LTE connection in the area. Zack was responsive in offering to help and, although we didn’t get it sorted, we appreciated their responsiveness regardless. The only other issue was that we did hear a fair amount of noise from upstairs on our first evening, but it didn’t appear to be an issue at any other time.

This place was amazing. Large 2 bedrooms with comfy beds and linens. Tastefuly decorated Lots of added extras. It was dark when we arrived so we were happily surprised in the morning to see the view and lake. We were in the area for work and this was the perfect place to set up home base.

Lovely cosy spot for our visit to the Dartmouth and Halifax area. Apartment was exactly as described and our kids loved having their own reading nook upstairs with views across to the harbour to watch the ferries going back and forth. Great location too with easy access to all the local spots and just down the road from Lake Banook with its lovely walking trails.

Great location for our stay. Apartment was clean and spacious with most comfortable beds. Jin was easy to contact and responded to requests quickly. The lake was a bonus with dock for swimming and plenty of outside seating. We would definitely recommend for an enjoyable stay in Dartmouth!

Beautiful basement suite with full kitchen, bathroom with toiletries, washer and dryer and a lounge room with streaming services and cable. Lovely setup with separate entrance for privacy, easy to find and easy instructions to get in. Snacks, juice and bottled water also provided. Would recommend. Only thing that would’ve been nice to have on hand would be a fan for the bedroom and a hair dryer, otherwise everything was great.

We stayed for a week at Treena’s place in Lakeview while visiting relatives in nearby Bedford, NS. We found the accommodations very nicely furnished, clean, modern, and well-equipped. The kitchen is small but functional and has most equipment one would need. The situation is very private and quiet, and we were able to use the wood stove, firepit, and gas grill. We found enough supplies like coffee pods, paper products, and dishwasher detergent to easily get us through the week. There are some lovely walking trails in the area, which feels more remote than it really is, but keep in mind that a car is necessary to get around. We would definitely stay again next time we Visit Nova Scotia.

Thank you for being such lovely hosts! We immediately felt right at home. The surroundings are beautiful, peaceful and quiet. It was a wonderful place to wake up to the snow. Thoughtful amenities, lots of space, comfortable places to eat, drink, read and watch Christmas movies. We didn't want to leave. So much generosity was extended to us due to the storm, and I look forward to returning! We very much were well taken care of.

This was the most amazing place. We spent a week here and Everything you needed or wanted was right in this place. The surroundings were peaceful, very inviting. Gillian checked in with us halfway through our stay to see if we needed anything. The beds were very comfy. The firepit is beautiful there was a fully stacked wood pile to use for the fire. There were lots of chairs all around to sit outside or out by the the dock. We would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you Gillian and Scott for your hospitality.

We had an awesome time at the cottage, experiencing both winter and spring by the lake with fantastic views. The cottage is clean and well equipped. We couldn't wish for more. Our hosts were very respectful and responsive. We would happily return.

My partner and I had a great experience and stay at Wilson’s. We were very happy with the cottage we picked, it was everything we were looking for. The hosts were responsive and kind to help us with basically any question or request we had.

Justin was an amazing host for the extended length of time we stayed at his place. Would highly recommend!

We Had a family reunion “staycation”!! This Was a perfect spot. Open space for the play pen and baby toys! Beautiful view & yard. We brought our own groceries and stayed in. The kitchen was very workable and had all the kitchen tools we could have needed. The wood stove was such a relaxing mood setter. The outdoor hot tub was lovely! (2 ppl) The deck was perfect for enjoying the outdoors with babies! Host had loads of little fine touches. Washer & dryer worked great! Parking was good, right next to the door and no stairs needed. Felt right at home and very comfortable! This is a perfect location of longer stays!

The place was very quiet and lovely, just what I wanted for the weekend. I was very comfortable.

Larry’s cabin is modern and well-equipped, tucked away in the trees ten mins walk or a couple of minutes drive from the private beach. We felt at home and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. My daughter especially enjoyed the ladder ball, frisbee and bubbles as well as the little red squirrel which was around most days!

Had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage. We had lots of fun playing ping pong and darts, and the hot tub was especially nice in the cold weather. The gorgeous lake views from the cottage are also worth mentioning.
