The Sand Dollar Cottage is a classic quaint Maine cottage in picturesque Maine fishing village. The first floor master bedroom has a queen size bed. There are two more bedrooms upstairs & an additional bathroom. There is a dining room and sitting area adjacent to the living room which has amazing views of the crashing ocean . The kitchen has everything you'd need. A full bathroom completes the first floor. The location in West Point makes an ideal “home base” for any vacation.
“This is our second time staying at Sand Dollar cottage. Immediately upon entering, we could see that Bill had added a few more touches to make it feel even more homey than our last visit . Soft blankets to curl up in, and new carpet in the upstairs bedrooms that felt good on our toes. Both times immediately we felt like we were "at home". We have cooked several dinners in the kitchen and I have now baked a total of 5 pies in the oven there with no complaints from my family . The kitchen has all the necessities one needs. Part of being on the Maine coast is the disconnecting with our usual day to day lives and just enjoying each other and family. This house allows for that-- homey feel, doing puzzles, playing cards and just enjoying each other. Even a trip to the grocery store is a family adventure on these twisty roller coaster roads with us all squealing in the car. This is a magical place that will always hold a special spot in my family's hearts. Bill was wonderful with his communication to me throughout this rental, especially with the recent power outages. So appreciated his quick response that decreased my anxiety immediately. Thank you Bill for sharing your coastal Maine home with us. This area is a treasure.”

“What a magical place. The location is wonderful and the setting is idyllic. My friends and I stayed for several days and enjoyed big family meals around the dining table, lots of places to read, nap, and hang out, and such lovely views of the harbor. It is a working harbor so during the week you'll hear the boats early in the morning. The space is large and warm. With the windows open there is a good breeze throughout the house and even though it was hot outside it stayed cool enough with a fan or two. The mosquitoes are no joke (but this is the case in Maine in the summer). We all used a LOT of bug spray (to go to bed even) - you will be happy to have lots of it too. The path to the dock is steep (for a short part of the walk) but it's worth the trek down to the dock. The bathrooms are functional (with plenty of hooks and two showers) - and one is large and looks redone. The bedrooms are just as they are pictured - with plenty of closet space and linens and enough room for everyone to have their own space. You are in a family house and you feel like it's yours when you are there. Plenty of dishes and serving bowls and a great kitchen - with a dishwasher! The silverware drawer is hard to find - it's to the right of the sink and doesn't have a handle. There are beach towels if you want to venture to a beach (which we did one afternoon but immediately realized we all just wanted to come back to the house and hang out there). And the washer and dryer were a welcome surprise - as was internet service! Plenty of parking too! Grocery shopping at Shaw's up the road was perfect - had everything we needed. At the end of our visit my friends decided we need to stay for a full week next time. It's a great introduction to Maine (as most of us had never been). ”
