“Helen and keith’s place is just stunning! They are incredible hosts, they’ve got great recommendations on things to do, they are very attentive (house is sparkling clean and they even leave fruit, milk, yoghurt and cereal for breakfast). Also, the place is beautiful, best sunset ever, sheep are lovely and it’s just so peaceful and quiet. Definitely recommend and definitely will be coming back!”

“If you're looking for a unique, authentic BnB experience, look no further! Bob and Bronwyn's charming, historic mansion-turned-BnB is a portal into another time and age. Built in 1915, the house is full of character, and Bronwyn was perfectly happy to share the property and its numerous stories with us. She also prepared a delicious breakfast for us with farm fresh eggs, and we greatly enjoyed chatting with her over coffee while we ate. She's a very sweet, gracious, and welcoming host, and we really felt like she'd invited us into her home as friends. All that said, you should manage your expectations while staying in a property as old as this one. It was quite drafty and cold inside throughout the house, though the hosts provided space heaters in our room. There was also WiFi available, but the signal wasn't strong enough to reach our room upstairs — though while staying in a unique place like Bob and Bronwyn's, you should be spending your time chatting with the hosts and enjoying the amazing house and garden rather than spending it online, anyway! We highly recommend a stay at Bob and Bronwyn's! You won't regret it, and you'll leave with an amazing memory of a palacial property.”
Cosy, but light, comfortable and home-like.
“Summary: Casa Kaka was an absolute *gem* and I am so glad I selected it for a week's stay. I have had many Airbnb stays and never found a host like Mary Josephine: warm, kind, generous and extremely helpful. The space is cosy, warm and has every amenity you'd want to make a stay at Kaka Point a memorable one. Highly recommended. The space: Casa Kaka has everything you need. A fully stocked kitchen, generous breakfast provisions, *amazingly* efficient fireplace and an extremely comfortable bed. I wanted for nothing and found it a very easy and relaxing stay, as well as phenomenal value for money. The location: walking distance to the excellent Kaka Point pub and the beach, but also right next to some gorgeous short bushwalks in the Kaka Point Reserve, I found the location was excellent. The host: what really set this space apart was the host. Mary Josephine was responsive and helpful in her communications, bent over backwards to make my stay a comfortable one, very generous with her breakfast provisions and was just great to talk to! She generally made me feel warm and welcome. I knew the Catlins well already, but she would have helped anyone new to this gorgeous part of the world find their feet and see all that it has to offer. If you're heading to the Catlins, make sure you stay at Casa Kaka. A home away from home; I'll certainly be returning next time I'm there!”
