Beautiful place inside out. Very well located in between the view of Pico and the sea. We couldn’t find a better place to visit the island.

We loved the thoughtful food items left for us. The beds are firm and comfortable, and the heaters kept us warm at night. The couch was also cozy, perfect for hours of reading and enjoying the solitude. Be cautious with the entrance—it’s a narrow, steep, one-way street. Large cars might get scratched or not fit at all. A small car is ideal, but one with a weak engine may struggle. Once parked, the space is great. Finding the house was tricky, as the GPS didn’t recognize the address, but we discovered two routes to get there. There’s no dryer, so drying clothes on the rack can be challenging, especially in rainy seasons. Bring quick-dry and waterproof clothing. Carlos and Manuela provided a helpful restaurant guide, though many were closed during our visit. We explored local spots and loved the food—Aromas and Sabores in Lajes is a must! If you seek peace and seclusion, this cozy place is perfect. We never met another person during our stay.

Our vacation with Grandma and Grandpa was a great experience on the island of Pico and in the wonderful house of James. The house with pool was our favorite in the selection, so there is something for everyone. View, swimming area, pool, cozy retreats in the house and in front of it. It has everything you want. Only the weather cannot be influenced and therefore we still have an account to settle with Montana de Pico. That's why we'll come back and, if possible, definitely to James'.

Proactive, communicative, and super organized hosts. They’ve thought of all the details and even welcomed us with some treats from the island. Clean space. Their recommendations were helpful. Great location - walking distance to the vineyards. Couldn’t be happier with this stay!

Great place to stay for 2x families of four, brilliant communication from host, lovely pool, top views, loads of appliances, and a welcome bean to cup coffee machine, full of beans :) The only place I stayed on the islands with a decent mattress and pillows too! Only thing missing for a perfect stay was AC or dehumidifiers…. Thanks for a great stay…

Very nice place to stay in a fantastically quiet location, right next to the vineyards. Everything was in excellent condition and in good weather you can have breakfast perfectly outside. We were greeted with a great gift basket and the landlord was always available for recommendations or questions. The pool was also very well maintained, there is also an outdoor kitchen with grill and seating. Overall, a clear recommendation!! We will be happy to come back.

Miguel was a marvelous host he was a helpful guide from everything to check in to our lava tube show-n-tell. We enjoyed talking to him about Pico and travels over wine and cheese. The basket of goodies was so fresh and so amazing to enjoy the beautiful bounty of the land. The animals were truly a treat so well behaved and a great change of pace and beautiful place for my husband and I on our honeymoon. Would recommend to as many people as I can.

We really had a terrific time at Goncalo's house! The house, its rooms and the communal area are beautiful and Gonçalo is a super nice host. We were only able to stay one night as we had our plane to catch (he offers a very practical airport shuttle!) but we could easily have stayed longer.
