This Commies house (customs office/former BORDER/ TAX CONTROL Office ) is one of the oldest houses at the mouth of the North Sea Canal. The house dates from 1875 and thus forms the basis of the later IJmuiden. With the largest sea lock in the world within walking distance and beach and fishing port within a radius of 1 km, this place is an ideal starting point for day trips. Haarlem (15 min.) and Amsterdam (30min.) are also easily accessible. Public transport bus and train - are available as well as free parking.

Come and spend the night at the old Wilhelmina School from 1884. In a quiet street lies our building, which was once built as a school, when it acted as a fire station and where we can now live. This third classroom has been refurbished with great love and patience and has now been transformed into a cozy Loft of 70m2. Because the space has open stairs and fairly open balustrade, the apartment is not suitable for small children. Kids from 7 years are welcome.
