Cioney not only rents a space, she takes care of you holistically. She's a very easygoing and transparent person. I felt like staying with and inside a family. She keeps the house clean and she's always willing to help. Undoubtedly a place to stay again in Palmares. The neighborhood is peaceful and safe.

Our stay at Elisabeth and Michael's home was fantastic! We felt as though we had stepped back in time to the early 1900's. They have done an amazing job restoring the place while retaining the original character. Their home is truly a work of art. While there are a few modern conveniences one might find missing, we had everything we needed, were very comfortable and felt completely at home. Michael's breakfast was wonderful and he was always ready to help in every way possible. Our conversations with our hosts were captivating and one of the hi lights of our time in Costa Rica! It is quite apparent that Elisabeth and Michael love Puntarenas and Costa Rica. That affection is quite contagious and we found ourselves more in love with their country having visited with them in their home for a few days and would definitely stay with them again.

We only stayed one night because we were in transition. The accommodation is ok for the asking price. But let's say I wouldn't spend a vacation in this place but it's great to cut off the road between two destinations. Lilliam is very nice and responds very quickly. Villa Alta has the most remarkable hosts and is a very spacious, clean, and inviting home! This home is in a very quiet neighborhood, and yes there are lots of dogs at all the homes, but I never heard them when I was sleeping. There are beautiful views of the mountains and the bay, you can sometimes hear the mono congos in the nearby forest when you sit on the deck, which I did often, enjoying the cool breeze or the rain falling. I would suggest you have a vehicle as it is not easy to get to a market or the nearby towns, which have some interesting history and sometimes shows. Hope you catch the local dancing demonstrations in Esparza! I will return if just even to visit with Jose and Leda, who everyone should take time to get to know! Best examples of Pura Vida!

We had an unforgettable stay at Victoria’s house at Las Nubes Atenas! If you’re reading this and looking for a relaxing, beautiful vacation - just save yourself some time and book it. Waking up to the mountain views from our room was awesome. The beautiful bed, well-stocked kitchen, and the fresh fruit straight from the farm were great touches. Everything felt so thoughtfully done. Stunning views everywhere you look. We took advantage of the many services Victoria offered: massage by Andrea, dinner by Rosa, sauna by the pool. We definitely recommend planning to stay at the Airbnb to enjoy it for a few evenings. Victoria helped us arrange a rental car and airport taxi. Check-in and check-out were a breeze, thanks to her clear instructions. Victoria and Mark were the most gracious hosts—attentive and warm. We will definitely recommend this gem to our friends and family :)

I had a nice stay at this home. We enjoyed the many places to sit and relax inside and outside the house. Swimming pool was very nice.

A unique opportunity to stay in a rustic cabin within walking distance of a private beach on the property. Abundant wildlife on the property including monkeys. The bioluminescence tour was the highlight.

One of the most amazing guesthouse you'll frequent in the world, yes world. The host will go above and beyond to ensure you have an outstanding stay in Costa Rica. The morning breakfast is fresh and the chef is extremely kind. The guesthouse grounds are beautiful, well kept, and manicured; it's so peaceful. The location is close, but not too close to SJO airport, so you get an authentic feel of Costa Rica. The host will ensure you see any and all sights you want to see in Costa Rica and provide excellent recommendations. This place is a rare gem.

Sweet family, awesome breakfast, very good communication, helpful and assertive, cutest dog, beautiful view, quiet area. It’s perfect for one person to retreat, if you don’t need fast wifi. You get hot food and basic groceries at the village. Busses are running to Atenas. Gabriel will help you with anything you need, they all speak very good English and like to chat.

We stayed two nights at Beso del Viento and enjoyed every minute of it. Everything is spotlessly clean, the rooms are nicely decorated and the pool and garden area are very pretty. We saw a lot of wild life in the garden as well (a monkey, lots of iguanas, birds and aras flying over it). The house is only a few steps away from a beautiful beach which also was a lot less crowded than the surrounding beaches. The included breakfast was very good as well and Bernard and his wife made us feel welcomed. Highly recommended!

Claudine’s place was a true fly remarkable find. Will definitely try to return if she has any vacancies! Beautiful surroundings, quiet and relaxing. Gorgeous pool. Good breakfast and the location for us was perfect.

This place is so beautiful. The room was gorgeous, the whole place was clean, the pool was perfect after hiking or to simple relax by, and the hosts were very friendly. We felt very safe and the outdoor wall of the home says The Orchid Tree so it's easy to spot (you'll still need GPS or Waze to drive in Costa Rica as there are no street signs).

The place is very nice and quiet. The rooms are well set up. The breakfast is good and quite complete (typical of the place). The only note out of tune was the Wi-Fi, for some reason my boyfriend and I were unable to connect our PCs to the Wi-Fi network. So it was a bit difficult for us to work from our room. Also, the closet smelled like armpits, even though it was empty, so we didn't even use that one. Everything else is apparently fine. There is a beautiful pool but available until 8 pm, a little early in our opinion, since if you are on vacation, maybe in the evening you want to relax a little... All in all for one/two nights can be fine.
