Built by John DiPol, designer of the world-famous Ladera resort, Villa Piton elaborates on the open-aired concept toward a stunning culmination in a refined experience of the Island's natural splendor; and all while cultivating intimate privacy.
“If you haven't been to St. Lucia and are considering a visit, then you should stay at Kermit's place, Villa Piton. We toured almost the entire island and the view from the living room (yes, living room), is THE BEST on the entire island. The pitons are a staple of St. Lucia and you're literally sitting between them with a crazy view. Two of the most amazing resorts, Ladera and Sugar Beach are super close, and can easily be visited for a day at the beach or a meal. We rented a car and we're glad we did. Although, driving in St. Lucia is extremely interesting. We live in the US, so we're used to right-side driving. Driving on the left side was different and the terrain is nuts. It had lots of hills, turns, rocks, bridges, and interesting roads. This was challenging and fun for me, not so much for my wife. :) We're glad we had a car because it gave us some more flexibility during the visit. We were able to visit Soufriere twice and the other resorts as well. While Sugar Beach is in walking distance per se, its probably 1000 feet virtually straight downhill to the beach. We drove and found parking at the bottom, then walked to the beach. Reviews of sugar beach talked about issues at the resort, but we didn't have any. The chairs are $50/chair/day and it was worth it. We had 7 and grabbed 4 chairs. We had decent service and the watersports were very reasonable. We snorkeled all day for $12 each. Not bad. 4 of our kids rode the tube for $20 each. Definitely make time to visit Sugar Beach. We did make the trip up north on one of the days. We're glad we checked it out, but be prepared for a very long day. The drive is also pretty nuts. It took over 2 hours and there is not too many straightaways. There were lots of curves and hills etc.. Our youngest kid threw up during the drive as he got car sick. We did spend time on Reduit Beach which was nice. There is a water park type place 50 yards from the ocean and our kids did 2 hours there, which helped burn some energy. We stopped at Spinnakers on Reduit and it was decent. St. Lucian folks move at their own pace, so be patient, you won't get NYC type service there. We did the welcome dinner with Mary and the team and it was phenomenal. She made chicken, fish, rice, salad and mac n cheese. All 7 of us enjoyed it thoroughly. The second night, she did lobster and Mahi Mahi, again awesome. She cleaned up afterward as well. The view during dinner is so good. Mary took care of everything and is a very happy lady and does a great job with everything. Marcus is the property caretaker and was super supportive and Greg came by every day to take care of the pool. All were super nice and hospitable. Finally, Kermit is the best in the business. I use AIRBNB for work and have stayed in more than 100 places. His commitment to you having a successful vacation is top-notch. His response time is fast and thorough. No question went unanswered. We're super pleased we chose Villa Piton and can't wait to come back.”
Private cottage located in a cozy, rustic hilltop home nestled between the Pitons. It's slight imperfections add to its island charm. Stunning views of the ocean from your private deck. This house is off the grid so ac/electricity and water are temperamental, and can sometimes have defects. I will always try to get someone to the property quickly however, we are in the countryside so things can take long. If another room is booked on the same dates then the pool & kitchen area are shared.
“What a terrific trip! This might be the best location on the island! And there are so many great places on the property to soak in the views. It is as close as you can get to Sugar Beach without staying at the resort... a private villa nestled between the Pitons. The living space was VERY nice! Walk-in closet. Beautiful bedroom. Private patio/balcony. Huge bathroom with a bathtub overlooking the ocean! The hospitality is what made our trip excellent! Mary, the housekeeper was so kind. We forgot to buy coffee at the supermarket, and the next morning, Mary had bought some for us and left it on the counter. She also left fresh flowers in our room and prepared a huge basket of fresh mangos harvested from the tree on site. This place offers all the features of a world-class resort but with more privacy, and really makes you feel a connection to the island culture and lifestyle. A few tips for future travelers: - Don’t rent a car. The roads on the island are challenging and Catherine’s recommended driver is fantastic! Just make sure you have cash. - Pack your tennis shoes. The walk to the beach is short, but very steep! We would highly recommend this place to future travelers, and can’t wait to come back ourselves!”
