“We had an amazing time in this hidden gem. The bus, the lake, and the scenery of their property was much more than I expected. This place is full of bliss, peace, good vibes, and thoughtfulness in every detail. I felt at home and I cannot wait to come back. The hosts are wonderful, kind people who provided so much more than I expected. I brought so much camping and outdoor gear with me, but barely used any of it. The lake is filled with fish and the stars were stunning. Thank you to Earthdancer, Michael, and Tulsi for making us feel at home.”

Behind the cabin, guests are able to relax in their private Tree Deck 16' up in the canopy of these majestic old oaks! Don’t miss this great piece of history that dates back to President Lincoln’s time in Illinois and read all about the family that built and lived in this wonderful old piece of American History!
“This cabin is AWESOME! We spent a few nights there, and we LOVED how convenient it was to the hiking around southern IL! It's a perfect launching point for Garden of the Gods, Rim Rock, and Burden Falls! It's cozy, it's charming, and perfect for slowing down!”

“Our family made so many life long memories on this adventure. The River House is a cozy, comfortable, family home in a quiet neighborhood, it has a lovely riverview from the front door. We loved the book case with local information, legends and folklore. It was nice for the boys (11 &13) to be able to help plan our daily outings with all the information on local attractions. There is SO MUCH to do in the Shawnee National Forest. Our host and the community were amazingly kind and helpful when we had car issues and our host provided many helpful local resources. We hope to come back and make more memories and friends. ~AniJo”
