The Cocoa Farm Finca La Amistad is located near Tenorio National Park and the village of Bijagua, in the north of Costa Rica. You will love our accommodation because of cocoa and chocolate, Birdwatching, atmosphere, outdoor space, comfortable bed, Tenorio National Park and Rio Celeste. My accommodation is good for couples, solo travelers and families (with children).
“I had expected the nearby Rio Celeste waterfall to be a highlight, however, our wonderful experience at Finca La Amistad turned out to be even more memorable! We rented a standard compact car and I will reiterate that the last 5km is challenging, yet still doable and well worth the slow, bumpy ride (we drove very carefully and in daylight only, during the dry season). Initially we opted for the dinners because we wanted to avoid driving on that road after dark. Yet the meals were so outstanding that this was the best choice regardless! With such delicious, well-rounded, and generously-sized breakfasts and dinners, we were never hungry during the daytime and skipped lunch. We were also impressed with the exceptional care and warm hospitality we received from everyone there, even when our Spanish was woefully inadequate. While on the smaller side, we loved the rustic, cabin-like feel of our room and all the comforts we needed were there. The complimentary chocolate tour is a must, as is enjoying the beautiful grounds and the fragrance of roasting cacao beans when Simon working across the way. We genuinely wished that we could have stayed for three or more nights, instead of only two!”
Cabaña Las Colinas is located in San Miguel de Bijagua, Upala . Its proximity to Río Celeste, Las Heliconias Lodge and El Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge. This place is ideal to share with family and enjoy the beauties of Costa Rica, besides its rustic and cozy atmosphere will make you feel at home, while enjoying a lot of wild fauna and flora. You can enjoy the farm, where You can observe the milking process, breeding of pigs and chickens, as well as pineapple, cassava and banana plantations
“This little house is perfectly what we were looking for. Located in an incredible environment, all green and in the middle of nature, a perfect place to rest. The house inside has very good taste in terms of decoration and with everything you need. We only miss a stove to cook a little more, since there is only one electric pan and a rice cooker. In the area of the rooms it is a bit cold, we have a windy night and if it is true that it sneaks a lot. Still, there were two blankets that we used to sleep and we were very good. 100% recommended to disconnect.”
La Casita Azul is a simple but very authentic little wooden cabin. Our finca is located on the edge of a small village at the foot of Vulcano Tenorio in the northern part of Costa Rica. It is an idyllic place, enveloped by the rain forrest where horses are still ridden as a main way of transportation. We are mainly self sufficient. We produce cheese, yogurt and other milk products; we grow organic fruits, plenty of organic vegetables and coffee.
“I was not quite sure what to expect going into my stay here. However, the stay was way more then I expected. The Casita is a small 4 room cabin with a 2 bedrooms, small main room and a small kitchen/sink area with attached bathroom. Lots of space by myself, but even with 3 guests would be plenty of space. Andi & Angi meet me when I arrived and showed me around. They offer dinner and breakfast which was some of the best food I ate in Costa Rica and also most of it they grow or produce themselves. Gave lots of tips on places to go and things to see around the area and were fantastic hosts. The bed was very comfortable and an all around awesome place to stay off of the beaten path. The directions to the casita are a must, and numerical addresses do not exist in Costa Rica it seems. Also would highly recommend a 4x4 if you are driving the whole way, however, not that far of a walk if you have to park early. In all I absolutely loved the place and would come back for sure if I return to Costa Rica.”
