It includes 3 bedrooms, patio, fully functional kitchen, dining hall, bathroom and a separate balcony. There is a river access in the back side.
“Anu’s farmstay is an example of the true spirit of a homestay. The place is so fantastic and the hosts (Anu and John) are so accommodative and enthusiastic that you actually feel that you belong there. The farmstay is nestled in a quiet place very close to Aymanam along the banks of the Meenachil river. For those who are looking for a calm recluse away from the mundane life around Kottayam/ Kumarakom, this place has to be the winner. All the regular benefits of a homestay are available. The bed rooms are spacious while a separate hall and dining room have their own charm. Also, the kitchen is fully equipped for an extended period of stay as well. In other words, the stay is very neatly maintained. But, here are the things that make it a gem of a place: An expansive farm around the central building with many kinds of fully grown trees, plants and herbs. It is also equipped with a small pool, compost and bio-gas unit. You can see hen sitting on their eggs, a dog guarding the hen and a Persian cat among the multiple domestic cats and dogs. Also, the specialty is a honeybee farm with a combination of both sting and stingless bees. You get to see the bees working on their trademark recipe from very close quarters and get to hear about the process from an expert bee-keeper in John. It was a true delight to hear John enthusiastically explain all the nuances of gardening and bee-keeping and how he used his hobbies to build a paradise at home. These are some things that you may not find even in the most expensive stays. This place is a recommended visit to everyone and for those planning their routes via Kottayam/ Aleppey, make sure you add this stay to your must-visit list.”

“Reviews are exceptionally positive for a reason — Joanna and Nachi offer much more than a clean, comfortable abode, they offer helpful tips, connections, advice, and warm hospitality. They helped us with transportation, houseboat, and getting a general sense of what life is like in Alleppey. Their assistance was especially appreciated since our time was limited and we didn’t have the luxury to putz around town for days to discover its secrets in our own time. We were extremely grateful to have stayed with them and have met. Cannot recommend more!”

“Sandhya has an amazing homestay property right next to one of the backwaters’ most beautiful rivers. Our room was large, clean and cool with a beautiful terrace area from which you can watch life pass by on the river, less than 10 metres away. Sandhya and her family are incredibly welcoming and helpful hosts (not to mention brilliant cooks). We ended up having all our meals at the property as we enjoyed the food so much. They gave us plenty of tips on walks out from the property as well as organising a couple of boat trips out into some of the smaller more secluded canals. The house is a 5 minute walk from a ferry into Alleppy and there is a paddle-ferry immediately outside the house if you want to visit the island across the river. Couldn’t recommend this property enough to anybody interested in visiting the backwaters, extremely good value and genuinely lovely hosts, on top of the beautiful landscape.”
