We are at mile post 82, South of Glennallen 35 miles, on backside Pippin Lake, Just north of Tonsina. McCarthy/Kennecott Mines, Glennallen, Wrangell Mountains, Valdez, Chitina are within a days trip. The Pipe line is a short walk behind the B&B. You’ll love our place because of the Great Mountain Views over the Lake and our home cooked family style breakfast to get you started in the morning. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
“This place is as described and a great spot on a serene lake. Unfortunately the rain prevented me from getting out on the water, but I loved the access to different watercraft and the sitting areas by the lake. The cabin was spacious and had all sorts of great amenities (especially the washer and dryer--huge!). The bed was very comfortable and it was wonderful to have hot water in the shower, which is often unavailable in cabins. Kym was extremely warm, friendly, and helpful when I arrived (even greeted me with a loaf of homemade banana bread), and cooked me a giant and delicious breakfast in the morning. The location is near the intersection of the Richardson and Edgerton, which makes it a great spot for stopovers as you are transiting between regions. There is a fair amount to do nearby in Copper Center and even Glenallen, but there are probably fewer big attractions here than elsewhere, so it's the type of place that's probably ideal for 1-2 nights. One small suggestion is that a bug zapper (those tennis racquet types) would be helpful, as a few mosquitoes got in and I was unable to capture them. Also, for those coming from other places where this is less familiar, be aware that there are several gun references (e.g., multiple signs along the driveway saying that uninvited guests will be shot); I suspect they may have had problems in the past with trespassers, though I wanted to mention this because, for guests from places with less of a gun culture, these signs may lead to a less welcome feeling (which contrasts with the warm welcome from Kym).”
We are close to Glennallen and on the road system. It is a private cabin with a kitchen, living room, queen size sofa bed, large loft with 2 queen beds a walk in closet. There is a bathroom with a shower. It has a flat screen TV with a DVD player. The kitchen includes a refrigerator, stove, microwave, utensils and pans for cooking . There are breakfast items which include orange juice, bagels, oatmeal, yogurt and breakfast bars. We are very close to stores and National Park Visitors Center.
“This cabin is perfect! If you're headed to Valdez, down towards the Anchorage area, up to Tok or anywhere in between then this is definitely a very nice place to stop and refresh/recharge. The bed is very warm and comfortable so don't worry about resting well. It was nice and warm inside during my stay. I booked her cabin on short notice and she responded in a matter of minutes. I couldn't have asked for anything better during my stay. Ill definitely be stopping here again.”
Nestled in the woods at Pippin Lake, Alaska, this cozy little Alaska cabin is just the spot to unwind from a day of sightseeing, relax on the lake with a fishing pole, or just sit on the dock and soak in the land of the Midnight Sun, as you view the surrounding, breathtaking mountains. Just the spot for photographers to capture the beauty of God's creation! Go for a walk out the front door and view the Majestic Wrangell mountains. "It's just what the doctor ordered."
“We enjoyed our stay at Pippin Lake. The cabin was cozy and clean but the best part is the lake itself. They have a paddle boat, canoe, row boat and kayaks with life vests in sizes child to adult. There is also a fire pit by the lake and a propane grill. Gail is very nice and helpful and provides breakfast foods. I would definitely stay here again.”
