“The epitome of actualising “Atithi Devo Bhava” - I can hardly rate Sajith’s AirBnb for I believe it is so much more than just 5 stars! While the property itself is beautiful, the room is spotless clean, and the support extended for all facilities at the stay or for sightseeing is prompt and super helpful, the highlight was of course the feeling of being treated like a family; in a space full of warm hospitality and peaceful comfort amidst nature. It was an exceptionally excellent experience! From being greeted at the door by Sabitha to Amma’s scrumptious, purely organic cooking, made with fresh ingredients from their farm and eaten out of the traditional banana leaf (truly seemed like god’s own food made and served with so much love), it was a joy to reside at Sajith’s! The cherry on top being the farm tour with the most adorable guide ever - Little Trishtha not only knew all about all the trees and crops and the beautiful lotuses in the pond, but also taught us in that time how to make friends with the trees and the animals as she showed us how they talked to her through the balmy winds rushing and how she loved them! Such a beautiful reminder of what it means to be attuned with nature from a child’s inherent intelligence beyond intellectual discourse 💛 Being treated to the art of making the traditional rangoli/kolam making, endless conversations over the South Indian coffee, and finally bid farewell with a sandalwood tikka and prayers for the journey ahead at the home temple..the whole experience can only be termed as “priceless” 🌟🌟 My only regret was not being able to stay even longer! I highly highly recommend the stay and would love to come back Bests Akanksha 😊”
Nobody goes to Ramassery ? It is a forgettable little South Indian Village and before you can say Madhavikutty Baby (Jack Robinson, loosely translated), you’re knee-deep in paddy fields. What you have is a spectacularly lacklustre destination and pretty much nothing to do.Come early evening, drop in at Saraswathi' tea & idli stall. It appears the Ramassery Idli is internationally celebrated. You can have treatment from Ayurvedic doctors from the neighbouring Village. So, when are you coming ?
“We found this place wonderful and really enjoyed our stay here. It’s off the beaten tourist track in a small village away from main roads. Krishna Vilas is a unique and peaceful place to spend a few days. The space is amazing and based on a very traditional layout, and there is information in the house that tells its story - fascinating! We found it easily using the instructions we were given combined with Google Maps to search for a nearby tea/iddly shop. We were warmly welcomed by Deepak, the caretaker, who helped us with everything we needed and treated us to lovely, home cooked meals and refreshments during our stay, including going out to get some of the famous Ramaserry iddlis for our breakfast. The rooms were spacious and airy and we had our pick of 5 bedrooms to choose from (when you book, you automatically book out the entire place which can sleep up to 9) and we enjoyed spending afternoons on the shady roof terrace watching the birds and appreciating the flowers all around us. Krishna Vilas has been fairly recently restored in keeping with its original character so its facilities are in keeping with that approach - the bathrooms have flushing, pedestal toilets and wash basins, while the shower spaces have more traditional ‘bucket’ showers. While we were there the weather was wonderful and the ceiling fans were easily sufficient for us, however there is no air conditioning, which we didn’t miss at all. This is the kind of place that is great for the more adventurous traveller, rather than those who expect the ‘all mod cons’ of standard hotels anywhere. It is a truly characterful place and not somewhere that could just be transposed to anywhere else in the world - for that reason alone it is special. All in all we would definitely recommend Krishna Vilas to friends and family who ventured away from the tourist hot spots out towards Palakkad!”
