“We really enjoyed our time at Villa V. Yohane's nephew, Yudha, lives close by and takes care of everything for you. Also, the housekeeper/cook, Juli, keeps the place clean and cooks some awesome meals. The villa has a stove, toaster, full sized refrigerator, two bathrooms, two bedrooms, and lots of space to move around. The villa is a short distance from the airport. Yudha met us at the airport and helped arrange a taxi ride to the villa (cost was 100,000 IDR). If we wanted a taxi to town, all we needed to do was let Yudha know (in person or via whatsapp) and he would call a local taxi for us. The villa sits at the top of a hill so the view is great. The Internet speed was fast, which was nice for keeping up on things at home, or for when we were stuck inside due to rain. We wanted to go see the Komodo Dragons, but could not find a decent tour provider ahead of time. When we did find one, Yohanes told us they were charging us too much. He lined one up for us for less money. The tour was great and the boat was absolutely spotless. Yudha went with us on the tour to make sure everything went smoothly. It was like having our own personal guide. He speaks excellent English and is very professional about everything. When we left, he sent us a few photos he had taken of us while we were there as a memento. All in all we had great time. Thanks, Yohanes, Yudha, and Juli! We thought that was a nice touch. We also loved how quickly Yohanes responded to all our messages during the booking process. We live on the opposite side of the World, and I know that some inquiries we sent him arrived in the middle if the night where he was, yet he always responded within half an hour. Definitely dedicated to customer service.”
Built in 2016/17 our house is located at the "Bukit Lamantoro" (Lamantoro Hill) and offers a epic view over the surrounding hills. Villa Petes offers European standards with an open western kitchen and two bathrooms. Our villa is a view stairs up the hill and therefore not directly on the street. The large covered terrace invites you to relax with a cold beer in a quiet and safe area. Situated not far from the airport, city center is in 15min. walking distance or you take the public transport.
“We loved Stephanie's house and she was an excellent hostess. We spent 9 days there and were very comfortable. It was like a treehouse loft - so bright with windows & doors to open up throughout the house and a lovely front porch overlooking the hillside woods. We also enjoyed the well stocked kitchen and the thoughtful touches throughout the house. Our only challenge was the steps (65) up the side of the hill (although it was worth it when you arrived) and the mosquitos in the morning - which the owners could not help. They had thoughtfully put out mosquito deterrents, but there were just too many in rainy season. We also liked the a/c in the bedrooms and would have liked them in the main room also. We live in Bali and we definitely hope to stay there again when visiting our daughter's family in Labuan Bajo.”
Pazolle'e is located in Waecicu Bay on 4300 m2 private grounds. It is a magical place for nature lovers, located on a quiet beach with a coral reef just in front. Pazolle'e means 'clean' in Bajo language. Wae Cicu means 'clean water' in the Manggarai language. It’s true. The water in our bay is crystal clear. At night when the moon lights up the trees, the bay and surrounding islands, and when you hear the sounds of the Gecko and night birds, you sense the magic of Waecicu Bay.
“We are just back from a week in Nina’s bungalow and, let me tell you, it was magical! The beach is quiet and mere steps from the front door. There are plenty of sturdy lounge chairs to sit and take in the gorgeous scenery. The bungalow itself is clean, nicely decorated, and designed to be eco-friendly while blending in with nature. Unfortunately, Nina was away during our visit, but there are three resident dogs who did an admirable job of hosting us. The staff who live on the property were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. The highlight of our stay were the grilled fish dinners prepared by one of the staff members, Alex. We would give him some Rupiah earlier in the day and he would go to the market to buy a large, fresh fish to bring back and grill with vegetables and steamed rice. Absolutely delicious! It was even tastier shared with the guys who live and work at Pozelle’e. Thanks to Nina’s local connections, we were able to arrange two boat trips and an overland drive. They were fantastic days out. Our boat crew and guide/fixer were so much fun and took the absolute best care of us. The restaurants at the two, neighboring hotels (Eden Beach & Plataran) were convenient, welcoming, and delicious. (Don’t order the BBQ fish as Alex’s was MUCH better) We also went for a heavenly massage in the spa at Plataran. The week was truly amazing. We loved everything about it: having morning coffee on the porch, soaking in the view, listening to the waves, watching the chickens, playing with the dogs, the boat rides into town and back, enjoying a cold beer on the loungers near the beach. When we visit Labuan Bajo again, we will definitely stay at Nina’s again!”
