Lulu’s Louisiana Swamp Camp

Swamp Camp offers a unique peaceful retreat to nature enthusiasts in the heart of Louisiana swamp country. We are at the dead end of quiet one mile road called “Happywoods.” Our camp, up on piers, is situated in the wetlands along the Tickfaw River and adjoining Tickfaw State Park. We look out onto a wilderness sanctuary with turtles, alligator, beaver and otter along with a variety of water birds and among the characters. The camp is built centered on a 300 plus year old cypress tree.

Little Cypress House is nestled on 3 beautiful acres in French Settlement. Centrally located just 32 miles east of Tiger Stadium and 1 hour from New Orleans provides place to park your boat, enjoy some fishing from an abundance of waterways. Treasure trove of activities awaits just beyond the doorstep with scenic hikes explore nearby attractions or simply lose yourself in the beauty of nature. Immerse in the local culture with charming cafes, restaurants and shops just a short distance away.

This is a perfect spot if you want to have a quiet and relaxing time away. The location is perfectly situated a little over an hour from both Baton Rouge and New Orleans. While getting there, you will drive down a 2 mile road that's peacefully lined with trees and swamp before it meets the pavement to the neighborhood. Once you enter the neighborhood, you will instantly feel at ease and in vacation mode. When you walk upstairs, you will be greeted by the Amite River and serene trees.

Our quaint yellow cottage sits on a quiet street where you have plenty of space to hear the cicadas and breathe in the Louisiana air. We're situated directly on the Amite River and this cottage is perfect for anyone who loves to fish! We provide a place to dock your boat, and can even recommend the best routes along the river that we often take ourselves. Please note that we do not allow pets at the cottage so get your fur babies a sitter and come on down.

The Blue Heron Guest House-6 acres on the bayou.

Take it easy at this unique getaway. Located on Bayou Manchac on a gated 6 acre estate. The Blue Heron Guest House is a great place to just get away, enjoy nature, canoe (provided), fish the pond or the bayou, birdwatching (lots of birds), etc. The property does have a boat slip and a small boat launch for those who want to explore the area by boat. Bayou Manchac connects to the Amite River nearby. We can’t wait to share our paradise with you!
