This newly renovated 2 bedroom apartment, known as "Above Monroe," is located on the second floor of a charming, two-flat home built in 1939. It is located in The Dudgeon-Monroe neighborhood, one of Madison's most desirable places to live and visit. Outside, it has a fresh coat of paint - tan with white trim, black shutters, and a "Badger Red" door. And inside, the apartment is thoughtfully decorated with a fresh color palette and stylish furnishings and accessories.
“Ann’s home in Madison was wonderful! The location is great for beautiful walks, lakeside activities, and walkable coffee shops and restaurants. The home is very well redone and decorated with nice touches and a comfortable cozy feeling. It was really a home away from home. Layout worked great for our family of four and the space was great for young kids. We especially loved the little office and the great front windows. The kitchen was stocked with supplies for cooking and the knives were sharp. Overall I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a clean and comfortable stay on the near west side of Madison. Thanks Ann!”
Taking this slow time to do extra cleaning and disinfecting. I have plenty of hand sanitizer, soap and water, and am diligent about wiping down surfaces every day. Stay safe, all! Lots of light and air, hardwood floors, private bath, access to the screen porch overlooking an oak savanah and my gardens with access to the kitchen! I am licensed by the City of Madison and pay all the appropriate taxes and fees.
“Really lovely home, host, and location. My room was perfectly appointed with comfortable bedding, plenty of lighting, and a comfy futon for lounging. Loved having my own bathroom (she has shampoo, conditioner, and body wash you can use) and use of the kitchen if needed. Plenty of parking right in front of the house. Joan is a wonderful host and I enjoyed hearing about her travels and adventures. Location was perfect for a weekend visit with my daughter, super convenient location between campus and shopping. Cannot recommend more highly! Thank you, Joan!”
My wife Marla and I are so happy to share our sweet little home with you. *NOTE: we love our old dog + cat so we hope you will, too* *No smokers here (just kills our vibe, thanks for understanding). You will cross paths with us and our senior animals - FYI Gelby does bark at the door. Our location is awesome thanks to the Southwest Commuter Bike Path running through our backyard, Monroe St. digs + dives, Lake Wingra/UW Arboretum, and basically everything MADISON is an easy 10-15 min drive :)
“I could not ask for better hosts or place. Amy and Marla are both super friendly and I was greeted with warm banana bread and friendly conversation upon my arrival. The location was great. I could walk to the Capitol either along Monroe with cute shops or along the bike path their place abuts. They gave me a book of recommendations for things to do locally. Again I want to emphasize what nice people they are. It was nice to also get some dog pets while away from my own.”
