My Maisonette is a listed building and on 2 levels. It's a little quirky and in the middle of town with minutes walk to everything you could need - banks, library, pubs, bakeries, butchers, coffee shops, cafes, takeaways, shops. There is a castle, free museum and surrounded by countryside. Launceston is just off the A30. DIY breakfast included. I also have a double room listed in this property which may be booked during your stay, therefore you could be sharing the facilities with other guests.
“Victoria’s place is fantastic with lots of character. It was a relaxing place to stay for a work trip. Launceston is a quaint and safe place and it would be great for a leisure trip too if you want to be in the country. Plymouth is about one hours bus journey away via the 12 bus. Check in was made easy with the directions provided via Airbnb messaging beforehand and she waited for me when the train was delayed which I really appreciated. Victoria is a pleasant and calm character whose hospitality put me right at ease. The single room was pretty and just the right size for one person. Noise filtering from outside was moderate. I didn’t have to use earplugs. The breakfast was great, cereals were in airtight containers with the cardboard cutout of names on them so you knew what you were eating, could look up ingredients and they didn’t go soggy. There was bread, porridge, teas and cafetiere provided for coffee. She told me I could use the kitchen to cook if I wanted. I didn’t use this, but it was nice to know. Victoria had offered to get dairy free milk which was thoughtful. I was okay buying this. There’s a Co-op, a large Tesco and a few artisan coffee shops closeby within a 14 minute walking distance at most. Whilst I was there for 4 nights the Wifi cut out just once, I was shown how to reconnect this and it was easy to fix. The TV had been unavailable during my stay, this didn’t bother me as there are plenty of interesting and quirky books to read and Wifi. There’s only a bath here with no shower. I was expecting this from the description. It was relaxing to soak in it at night after work. After a 4 night stay, I left Victoria’s feeling recharged and ready for the next destination.”
The Dairy is one of 6 lovely holiday homes at Trevadlock Manor, which is situated in over 20 acres of meadowland leading to a private bank of the River Lynher in a truly unspoilt part of Cornwall on the edge of Bodmin Moor. The peace and tranquillity of this setting belies its convenience as a holiday base.
“The dairy is gorgeous, cozy and has absolutely everything you need. It is in a beautiful location surrounded by fields. Tescos is only 10 mins ish away and Launceston has lots of shops to while away a rainy day. Next time we would like to stay in the summer so we can go on lots of lovely country walks, which are right on the doorstep. For any sewists or quilters out there, we found a lovely fabric/quilting shop in Launceston called Cowslip, which does workshops and has a cute cafe and fabrics to die for, well worth a visit. We look forward to staying here again!”
Trevadlock Manor is a gorgeous manor house steeped in history and set on the edge of the dramatic eastern side of Bodmin Moor with a truly magical slice of Cornish countryside rolling down to the River Lynher.
