Monthly Rentals in Lough Corrib

We had a wonderful stay in Kate’s cottage. She is such a lovely host and left a welcome package for us on arrival. Her cottage is cosy and had everything that we needed. Kate gave us a lot of recommendations in Connemara and Galway that we really enjoyed!

Pat has given us the warmest welcome we have ever got at an airbnb. He is just a terrific host. The cottage is lovely, spacious and well-equipped. Great to have 2 bathrooms. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal. We loved the fire in the dining room and living room and enjoyed playing boardgames with the fire on, on a rainy day. Pat's dog, Lily and the neighbour dog, Hunter are both a delight. Connemara is a beautiful part of Ireland with beautiful scenery and wonderfully warm people. A week is not enough to see everything. We managed to get to the national park, Clifden, Roundstone and its beaches, Lennaun, the Killary fjord and the famine walk, as well as nearby Loch Corrib and the castle. Some of these destinations are about 1 hour away but you drive through beautiful scenery. Galway is only half an hour away and is a buzzing, vibrant city. All in all, we had a great time and would like to come back.

Brilliant little spot so quiet and peaceful but still with in walking distance from the town some fab cafes and restaurants super near by

We had an amazing stay at Shepherd’s Rest. The surrounding landscape is absolutely stunning: waking up to the peaceful view of sheep grazing near the water and enjoying breakfast with that view was a dream. The place is perfectly equipped for cooking, and we really appreciated the thoughtful extras: fresh eggs, biscuits, cereal, milk, and orange juice. The bed was incredibly comfortable with plenty of pillows, and the spacious shower “with a view” was a real treat. A truly special and relaxing experience, we’d love to come back!
