The space
Villa Beba is a stunning, historic home situated just outside the Walls of Dubrovnik, overlooking Banje Beach. Classified as a protected heritage property in Croatia, the villa has been in the same family since 1705. The current owner recently completed a three-year restoration in honor of his aunt Maria (nicknamed Beba), from whom he inherited the home, furnishing the interiors with a blend of Beba's antiques and lovely modern décor. The three-story house is superbly structured and appointed for an inspiring vacation, with multiple terraces, a swimming pool, a gourmet kitchen, and a fabulous alfresco kitchen and dining area. Five king bedroom suites with ensuite bathrooms accommodate families, destination wedding guests, and groups of friends up to ten in size.
The villa's exteriors evoke the timeless charm of Croatia, with beautiful masonry, native trees incorporated into the terraces, and panoramic views of the Old Town and Lokrum Island. Savor a refreshing dip in the swimming pool and relax on lounge chairs in the brilliant sun. Stay cool under the pergola in the afternoon, and uncork a bottle of local wine on the sunset terrace. Gather in the dining gloriette on the upper terrace, relishing meals from the barbeque around the wooden table.
A stone archway leads into a furnished, sea-view loggia, flowing into the main living room through French doors. This open-concept space features a comfortable TV lounge, a circular dining table, and plentiful windows. Soothing white surfaces glow with Adriatic light and showcase the wonderful art collection. The kitchen is endowed with chef-grade appliances, rustic wooden countertops, and dreamy sea views.
There are three guestrooms on the middle floor, one of which opens to a terrace, and two large suites with deluxe bathrooms on the top floor. All of the rooms enjoy sea views and ensuite bathrooms. Unique touches of dazzling artistry include a lush blue tufted headboard and a fabulous wall painting of a seaside scene. The middle floor hallway displays Beba's vintage picture collection.
There is hardly a finer location for experiencing the beauty and history of this Adriatic jewel—just one minute on foot from Banje Beach, three minutes from Komarda Beach, and five minutes from the Old Port and Walls of Dubrovnik.
