Whip up a tropical cocktail and step outside to watch the sunset above the Adriatic at this modern Croatian villa on the outskirts of Dubrovnik. Ease back into a sun lounger, wade into the pool, or catch the show from the terrace. In the morning, set out to explore the ancient stone-walled city of Dubrovnik, which is 12km from home on a beautiful drive down the coast.
The space
Set along the Adriatic, Villa Frida captures incredible sunsets and views of the neighboring islands. An interior decor that features warm wood tones, dark granite, and designer furnishings is equal parts elegant and relaxing. Beneath a sputnik chandelier, you’ll find the perfect living room lounge for late nights with good friends. Outside, shady beach umbrellas and alfresco lounge areas are great for afternoon reading. When you really want to unwind, spend a few minutes in the sauna, which is just above the pool deck and wet bar.
The best way to see Dubrovnik is from atop the Medieval walls that outline the entire city. Make sure to bring some good walking shoes and a camera; the trek takes about 2-hours, and the views are amazing. After your stroll in the city, reward yourself with a day at the beach. You’ll find the shores of Zaton Beach on your way home. It’s about 3km from Frida.
