Cabin vacation rentals in Makanda Township

Jen’s place was perfect for what we were looking for. We had more guests the first night than the Second and she was very accommodating with air mattresses and bedding for them. It was great at the end of our day to get to come back and visit while hanging out. It was nice having 2 king beds and 2 futons. Couches were great for extra seats to visit. Kitchen had everything we needed to make a nice breakfast in the mornings. This is our favorite Airbnb we have stayed at. Hope to stay again next year. Thank you Jen!

The perfect relaxing cabin. A short drive from gorgeous wineries and a quick walk to a beautiful hiking trail where we found over 12 mushroom species. Highly recommend this host!

The cabin was so cute and cozy with thoughtful homey touches all throughout. We loved that there were metal wine tumblers available to use in the hot tub, plenty of dishes/kitchen accessories and the shower head was amazing! Overall our stay was perfect.

This Airbnb was incredibly clean and cozy. The bedrooms are spacious, and the main areas of the house are inviting and comfortable. The log cabin feel of the house is adorable. Conveniently located to everywhere we needed to go in the area. We would definitely stay again in the future!

Great cabin! Great location! Great host! The wife and I will definitely consider this spot again when planning a getaway to southern Illinois. I highly recommend this spot for climbers looking to hit up the Holy and House boulders while having a comfortable and relaxing place to relax after climbing. Phillip was a super helpful, super friendly host; always quick to recommend fun things to do in the area.

Perfect for our family relaxation getaway. Kids had plenty to do and parents had plenty not to do.

Great amenities and very clean. My husband enjoyed the hot tub on the deck. It was really wonderful to wake up every morning and have coffee on the second story deck among the tree tops. We just wished that the beautiful, wooded property directly around the house was accessible to guests. However, it was fairly easy to drive to a lot of really cool places to hike.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the serene surroundings and the cozy, well-maintained cabin. The cabin was fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect escape from everyday life. Linda, our host was incredibly welcoming and ensured we had everything we needed throughout our stay. We had a really good time & enjoyed our stay! We tried Driver Down, a local restaurant Brittan recommended and it was so good!! Brittan was very nice & helpful!! We will definitely have to come back this summer, and stay longer!! If you’re thinking about booking, DO IT!!!

this is a really beautiful place to stay. it is close to downtown Alto Pass (we rode our bikes there). Tucked back in the woods it is quiet around the house and lots of wildlife around. spacious living space too. If it had been a bit warmer we would have done a camp fire also. nice fire pit and stocked wood.

The cabin was clean, secluded and very peaceful. We will stay there again when visiting family. Thank you Tom for a nice stay!

We enjoyed our stay at the Hidden Creek Cabin. It was a great landing place in between hikes. We especially appreciated the deck and my kids enjoyed the variety of games on-hand.

Miranda's place is perfection! Cozy, impeccably clean and peaceful. Miranda makes you feel welcome and provides her contact information in the event of problems or questions. It was a wonderful place to rest and relax after a long day at Rend Lake. Everything you need is provided; coffee, laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, body wash. The beds and furnishings are comfortable, and the kids spent a lot of time in the wonderful game room. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys the "home away from home" atmosphere. We look forward to staying again in the future!

Perfect place to stay, very well kept

Check-in was simple. The place was very nice and secluded. There is an awesome kid's park right down the road, and it is a 9-minute drive to restaurants and everything else. We were there for a softball tournament at SIU and it was very easy to get to. We had a great visit with family and had a great stay.

Super stylish, everything was new, nice touches, super comfy bed! Within 5-10 minutes of Rend Lake!

Mercede’s place is great. Plenty of room for me and a great space in the garage for my boat. Was able to park it inside and not worry about it like I do when staying at a hotel. Mercedes was very responsive to my questions and needs. This is my second time staying there and look forward to my next stay. Thanks Mercedes🙂

Quaint space in a secluded area. Lots of wildlife and great back porch space. We had plenty of hot water for our showers too, which was perfect after spending a day in the outdoors.

This cabin was unbelievable. Everything was fresh and new, beautifully decorated, cosy and thoughtful. The hosts really went out of their way to provide everything needed - Fire and s'more supplies, water filter in fridge, wine and snacks, plentiful toiletries and paper products, condiments and spices, games, books (even children's books and coloring supplies) nice soaps, comfy beds, plentiful and nice towels etc. It became a running joke for us "wow, this cabin really has everything." All of it very thoughtfully curated, it all felt very personal. My daughter freaked out over the loft, it's a kid's dream come true. It is a high loft, so probably most appropriate for an older kid, but she is 6 and followed the rules carefully. It's in a beautiful setting and feels very secluded, we didn't see any other people or dogs while we were there, so we could just exit the cabin and hike or let our dog and daughter play around the premises.

This was a perfect getaway house! It was clean, private, and quiet. Beautiful views from all around the house. Matt was a great host with great communication. We will be staying here again!
