Vacation rentals in Mihama, Mikata District

We are a group of 7 people traveling to Kyoto for the first time. This listing contains 5 different houses and the one we stayed at is the Hana house. Note the Hana house has 1 shower/tub room, and 1 toilet room but we made it work! The house has a spacious living room and was a great space for us to gather after a full day of sightseeing. There is a Lawson and Family mart that is a few minutes walk from the house. You can get to many temples and shrines by feet including the Kyomizu-dera and the shopping street, all within 20 - 30 minutes. The host was very nice and gave us great tips and information on local recommendations.

The Maneki Machiya staff were extremely responsive and helpful throughout the entire booking process. Our unit happened to be named "Cozy" but "cozy" is the best way to describe not only the houses themselves but also the nature of staying in this quieter, calmer part of Kyoto. The rooms are laid out very smartly and charmingly; a wonderful place to come back to after a long day of temple visits and river walks.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful Japanese house in Kyoto. The home was spotless, warm, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Located in a quiet neighborhood, it was just a short walk to the train station and surrounded by excellent restaurants. The host was incredibly responsive, with fast and clear communication throughout. We especially appreciated the lovely Japanese touches in the decor and the use of the bikes—it made exploring the area even more enjoyable. Thank you for a fantastic stay!

Very pretty apartment with a beautiful temple right next door, very close metro and bus station and a very good restaurant nearby. Thanks for staying.

Our family had a terrific stay! The house had a great authentic Japanese atmosphere and was situated in a quiet and local area. There were many amenities, restaurants, shops, playground and a great cafe nearby - all within walking distance. The proximity to Nijo-jo was very convenient and many tourist sites were just a short bus trip or inexpensive taxi ride away. We would definitely recommend this house for a short stay in Kyoto!

Yoshimi’s place was in a nice quiet neighborhood and it was extremely clean! There are 3 flights of stairs but we really appreciated Yoshimi and her friend helping us with our luggage. There’s no blackout curtains so it gets a little bright in the morning but overall, we loved the place! Thank you, Yoshimi!

Will stay again next visit

Neat area, friendly and helpful staff. I’d imagine this would be a great place to stay after a ski… hit the onsens and grab a drink.

It’s one of the best house we stay in 2025. Highly recommended !!!
