Pod's Place is a quaint,Grade Two listed little cottage in the historic part of Monmouth (voted best place to live in Wales) and is ideally situated to explore this area. The cottage dates back to the 1600s but has been restored to a very high standard throughout. We welcome pets and there is a safe, walled, courtyard with an outside dining area. We provide a welcome basket with bread, milk, cereals, butter, tea and coffee. Of course toiletries, bed linen and towels are also provided.
“Pod’s Place is only a 10 minute walk from town which was fabulous. The cottage was much bigger than expected... the living room has a very toasty wood burner and the spotless Kitchen has an amazing milk frother which gives you a shop worthy cuppa. Everything you need for a short break. Carl was a thoughtful host, thanks Carl.”
We offer luxury bed and delicious breakfasts in our contemporary, stylish home. Our en-suite guest room is perfect for one or two guests as we’re just 15-20 minutes walk in to Monmouth town centre. We are dog friendly and can offer dog-sitting in the evenings if guests wish to visit our local theatre, cinema or restaurants. Ideally located for walkers, cyclists, canoeists and all visitors to Monmouth and the Wye Valley we are also situated fairly close to Monmouth’s excellent schools.
“What a brilliant trip! The accommodation was beautifully clean with lovely touches like tea and biscuits and Neal’s Yard toiletries. We picked from a lovely menu provided by Liz for a meal on the first night which was delicious, Liz and her lovely son were such friendly and attentive hosts. The only problem we had- we wish we could have stayed longer!”
Our place is thoroughly cleaned between visits. Surfaces are wiped down with anti-bacterial cleanser. Charming converted stable with private entrance via an old (uneven) cobbled courtyard. Easy walking distance to centre of Monmouth. A self-contained house consisting of sitting/dining room with small kitchen area (including fridge, hob, sink & microwave). Double doors onto a pretty terrace. Shower room with toilet. A narrow spiral staircase leads to a large bedroom with double bed.
“Such a cosy and beautifully decorated old stable house. The bed is so comfy and the shower lovely hot pressure. The breakky basket was lush full of tasty things including homemade marmalade and local honey! 5 mins into town and many many hikes from the door. The outdoor courtyard has the sun most of the day = perfect for lounging around and relaxing (decked out with a fire pit!) All in all, absolutely fab!”
