We had a great stay with Mike & Barb. They were very responsive and always on hand, giving us recommendations on the area and advice on our road trip. It was a short stay but a perfect stop off for us. The place was very homely, you are in the front part of their house so can hear some noise. The fresh produce was a lovely addition mostly homemade/grown; eggs, bacon, bread, croissants, kefir, honey, butter…perfect for some breakfast on the front porch. They were very accommodating with our late arrival and early check out. The view they have is incredible across the ocean! A short walk into the town, and a 20 min drive to local attractions. Sylvie’s guesthouse was another great property amongst the 5 at which we stayed during our 3 week visit to Western Australia. This Albany charmer’s view and peacefulness was unmatched. Sylvie was friendly and generous with her local recommendations and knowledge. While the property isn’t walkable to Albany, it was only a 11 minute drive to downtown Albany. We love Kate’s Place in downtown Albany, an inviting morning coffee shop. The highlight was the deck overlooking a bucolic field of horses and ducks and she even provided birdseed to feet the wild cockatoos. Lovely!
