Farmstay vacation rentals in Murray River

My family had a wonderful stay at The Barn. Alison and Ross are lovely hosts and very helpful with clear instructions. The property is great and comfortable for about 7-8 people with all bedrooms on level 1 (upstairs) and 2 bathrooms downstairs. Great size indoor living and outdoor bbq area, including a fire pit for cool evenings, and the paddocks surrounding the property have some friendly rams. You also get to see heaps of kangaroos in the morning and around sunset. Clean and comfortable property and I would highly recommend staying here when visiting Healesville. Only thing missing were some extra bathroom amenities (toilettries) proportionate to 7-8 people staying but I’m sure if you request Alison and Ross they will ensure to make it available for your stay! The house was thoughtfully decorated and stocked with everything we needed for our one-week stay! Lovely touches like bread, chocolates, etc. Elizabeth was very responsive and accomodating. Spacious house inside and out. Fireplace and electric blankets helped keep us warm at night. Farm views (and occasionally, smells 😅) were very peaceful.

Great semi isolated location with small interesting town with all requirements within 4 kms. The place is beautifully peaceful and restful. Ideal for us.

Very comfortable home amongst beautiful trees and nature. The home had just about everything you'd need to occupy a young (or young at heart!) family, though no wi-fi (probably a blessing!). Luci had thought of everything in terms of stocking the utility areas and kitchen which made for a hassle free stay. Thanks Luci!

The cottage was great, with scenic surrounds and very easy access to the mountain bike park for those interested. And the 2 lovely dogs were so friendly and welcoming !

We highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys nature and is looking for a little taste of homesteading. Inside, the house was stunning, decorated well, with lots of natural light. The kitchen was well-stocked with utensils, everything was nicely cleaned, and there was a remarkable amount of toys and books for the kids. Outside, the scenery was unreal, with a gorgeous view down the hill towards the creek. The orchard and flower garden were beautiful, and the kids loved making us 'drinks' up in the tree-house. A short ways down the boardwalk were the kangaroos, which were friendly and cute, and eagerly ate out of our hands. The owners had also just installed a chicken coop; the hens were so cute to watch. Overall, it was an excellent time. Our hosts were very responsive, and went above and beyond to ensure we had an excellent stay. The amount of love and effort put into the place was obvious, and we will definitely be returning sometime to see what's new.

Thanks for having us! We had such a wonderful time! The place is well-furnished, cozy, and equipped with everything we needed. Our toddler had an amazing time exploring the farm, interacting with the animals, picking fresh strawberries and veg, and enjoying fresh eggs for breakfast. It was such a lovely getaway and farm experience for our family including our dog. :) We would highly recommend!

Our stay in Barjarg was excellent, and was the perfect base for a few days of hiking in the surrounding areas. Will definitely be staying here again! Loved the cottage, especially the fireplace!

We had a fantastic stay at Willuna Sanctuary. The hosts were super friendly and very accommodating. We were lucky enough to hold and feed some of the animals - the kids loved it. The cabin was clean and well maintained. We found the beds very comfortable and it was the perfect size for our family of 4. If you’re looking for a very comfortable and relaxing farm stay, then look no further. We’ll definitely be returning.

We had a peaceful and relaxing stay. Star gazing in the hot tub was our highlight. Would recommended it for anyone who loves the farm and being with nature. We saw alpacas and kanagaroos in the backyard. Very high quality kitchenware when cooking up a storm. Great night sleep, the mattress and pillows were comfy! Only feedback is to have entrance lights/driveway lights to the cottages. Note, we arrived quite late in the dark. Otherwise, loved the experience!

A beautiful cottage, clean and tidy and beautiful views out the back. The animal visitors added extra charm and we loved how easy it was to walk to local cafes and shops. We would book again in a heartbeat!

Lovely home and perfect to disconnect from city life

My girlfriend and I only spent a night but we both would of loved to spend a week or more. Absolutely comfortable and cosy and would definitely like to return for a longer experience next time. Suited our needs perfectly. Would 100 percent recommend to others wanting a private, quiet stay away that offers extremely beautiful and comfortable surroundings. Muchly appreciated! This was a fantastic place we stayed at which was nice and private and had an amazing view. Fiona was very pleasant to deal with and was very accommodating to our needs, everything about the place was awesome and we would definitely like to stay here again in the future!

It was our second time staying at Avalon, and we loved it. Such a great way to spend a few relaxing and enjoyable days in the country, but will all the amenities of home. Outstanding stay, and the highlight was Joel taking us on a tour of the farm. Great for families too, we will be back again.

Fantastic place for a getaway. Great for families and or a couple holiday. We enjoyed the location being close to wineries and Healesville. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a space that works for a family holiday or long weekend!

We had an amazing stay, with our extended family and our dog. The hosts had thought of everything you need to have a relaxing stay at the property. We will definitely come again but next time will stay more than 3 nights.

Fantastic family stay. The kids had the best time running around and playing on the big grassy area. The views over the paddocks are stunning. The house was comfy and warm. We couldn’t fault our stay. So much room and so so peaceful.
