It is a 10-minute drive to the Komagatake Ropeway bus stop, making it the perfect location for mountain climbing, skiing, and learning about Japanese rural life. Sake and miso factories are also close by. The altitude is about 700 m and the stars are beautiful at night if the weather is clear. We also offer free bicycle rentals (2 bikes) for those who wish. Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

To ensure you enjoy the stay to the fullest, I set check-in and check-out time to both 12:00 Noon. So you can stay up for 24 hours with one night booking. YAMANOTE HOUSE is accessible from major Kansai stations with 37min from Kyoto Sta. or 65min from Osaka Sta. If you come by car from Kyoto it takes less than 1 hour. The area aournd the house is once small castle town. The house is located next to the Shrine, Hiyoshi-Jinja, where the Omizo Festival is held on May 3 and 4 every year.

Check-in time is from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Due to other work commitments, I can't accept check-ins after 5pm, but I will do my best to accommodate check-ins before 2pm. Check-in is not possible on Sunday.(Staying and check-out possible) This is a guest house that is a 100-year-old Japanese traditional house that I renovated myself. The old house is 300㎡ and the field is 300㎡. Recommended for couples, solo travelers, and families.
