Craigiehall Temple (historic property built 1759)

Built in 1759 and situated in its own grounds on a former part of the Craigiehall Estate, its Grade A listed for its stunning portico displaying the arms of the 1st Marquess of Annandale. A plaque on the wall carries a quote from Horace: "Dum Iicet in rebus jucundis vive beatus", "Live happy while you can among joyful things". Situated on a working farm a mile from the town of Selkirk makes Highfield an ideal base to explore. Highfield commands an elevated position giving panoramic views of Selkirk and the surrounding hills. Situated on The Borders Abbey Way there is easy access to excellent walking and cycling routes. For the more adventurous we are a short drive to great mountain biking routes at Innerleithen and Peebles. Melrose & Tweedbank railway station is a 10 min drive, Edinburgh is just under an hour away.

The town is home to the Melrose Rugby Sevens & the Borders Book Festival & boasts many restaurants, cafes & independent shops. St. Cuthbert’s Way, Melrose Abbey & the Eildon Hills are a short walk away. The open plan lounge/kitchen is well-equipped while the ensuite open plan bedroom is cosy with a bright bathroom with bath/shower. There is also a small private direct access courtyard garden at the rear.

Set in a peaceful garden at the foot of the Eildon Hills, it’s perfect for a relaxing getaway surrounded by nature. Enjoy morning birdsong and the gentle clip-clop of horses on the nearby bridle path. Great for exploring local heritage, scenic walking routes, and St Cuthbert’s Way. Caravan at The Keep

This is a large 35x 12 foot static caravan , situated on its own hillside site on the outskirts of Gattonside looking across to the town of Melrose and the Eildon hills . It has been rented out in the summer for about 17 years and enjoys return visitors . It’s a vintage 90’s caravan but comes fully equipped and is clean and comfortable. Linen provided . It you are looking to relax and get away from it all , this is for you . Kitchen updated this year and bedrooms painted ( 2026)
