The Maynard Log Cabin was erected by a homesteader after the civil war. We have moved and restored it and made it available for rent. It is off the grid, but it has a complete functioning kitchen, wood stove and sitting room downstairs. There are two antique beds with new mattresses upstairs. There is no electricity but the cabin is furnished with kerosene lanterns. The bathroom facilities consist of wash basins and outhouse. The cabin is surrounded by 40 acres of woods and meadows.
“This place is better in person. The stars are epic, the wind chimes on the porch soothe you, even the rain on the tin roof was lovely. There are cows and roosters next door that wake you, but it all added to the fantastic vibe, and I adore this place so much I already booked it again. The check-in was great. I was traveling from the cities after work, and John arranged Samantha to check us in late. The house was warm and the lanterns were lit. It was perfect and thoughtful! My son fell asleep peacefully, even with the gentle thunder. The beds were ok, and keeping the windows cracked open lets in the breeze and the sounds outside. It’s quite lovely. The mosquitos didn’t bother us at all! I did see a bat house and plenty of dragon flies, so perhaps they are doing their jobs. Other wildlife we saw: quail, pheasant, turkeys, some other bird with a red head (it’s in the book in the cabin). We played in the creek, and my son finally forgot about his video games and we were able to spend some quality time together, reconnecting and making memories. The fall foliage was just peeking through the green. We stopped at every recommendation in the book to buy things from the Amish. We didn’t see people at a couple so we hurried off, but we did pick up a lot of homemade jams and jellies, canned pickles, fresh eggs, carrots, cucumbers, and a watermelon. Everyone in town is friendly too. I adore this place. Definitely bring your cooler of ice, possibly your own bed linens if you like them freshly laundered like I do, and you will be set. Thanks for such a great stay in such a lovely place.”

“Into The Blue was a beautiful home, absolutely spotless and perfectly decorated. The washer and dryer are HUGE and the deck and backyard are perfect for entertaining and children. The kitchen (as well as the rest of the house) was equipped with everything we could have needed for our 10 day stay. Lots of towels and linens available and the beds are super comfortable. “We had such a wonderful stay at Debra’s bnb. I booked her place for my husband and I and a group of our friends for a wedding. Although I didn’t get to meet Debra in person, because we got in so late, she was a very gracious and accommodating host. 5 Stars for excellent communication and hospitality! The space is cozy and beautifully and simply decorated. The kitchen has everything you need for making meals. The beds are nice and firm. All around a 5 Star Plus experience!”
