Naruko Onsenkyo is a very rare hot spring with 9 of the 11 water qualities found in Japan. It has been used as a hot spring resort since ancient times, and is loved by people for its benefits in treating illnesses, injuries, and helping with recovery from fatigue. The spring water is smooth, slightly alkaline, and has a faint sulphur scent.(Calcium-sodium-nitrate spring, hypotonic alkaline high-temperature spring) Indications include rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, lower back pain, peripheral circulation disorders (cold sensitivity), dry skin, and stress-related symptoms. “Yasememi is located in a quiet villa area, and it is crowded with tourists during the spring cherry blossoms, the early summer greenery, and the autumn leaves of Naruko Gorge.Onijuku Ski Resort is nearby. Many people who experienced the benefits of the hot spring became repeat guests, and we received numerous requests to stay, so we opened in 2023.

We accept reservations for one group per day. The maximum number of people who can stay here is 10 people. It is often used as a base for Tohoku trips by classmates, company colleagues, and multiple families. Please relax in the spacious space. Of course, even one person can stay privately. Please let us know by message at the time of booking, as children under 12 years old will be charged a reduced rate of 3,300 yen (tax included) per person per day. We will change the amount after the discount. In addition, as a discount for consecutive nights, guests who stay 3 nights or more at the adult rate will receive a discount of 500 yen per person per day from the 3rd night. Enjoy a timeless experience at this inn, surrounded by the garden of the Nanbu family, lords of the Morioka domain (now the Morioka Chūō Community Centre Garden), and the Nakatsugawa River, an iconic symbol of Morioka that has flowed through the heart of the castle town since the Edo period. The strolling garden across the street, just a one-minute walk away, is said to have been called the “Oyakuen” because it was used to grow medicinal herbs for Morioka Castle. Located just before that, this house displays a sign that reads “御薬園前—Oyakuenmae—” and began offering private lodging in April 2026. We have renovated this 50-year-old building into a space that blends the old with the new. Based on the concept of a home away from home where you can enjoy Iwate as if you lived here and want to come back again and again, we will do our utmost to help make your stay a heartwarming experience.
