The result is Tyven — an 80 sqm boutique cabin with a large window facing Mjøsa — Norway's largest lake — from the kitchen. Featured in National Geographic Traveller. Private jacuzzi, two full bathrooms, and peace and privacy in Mjøsa's natural surroundings. Kitchen, bathroom and one bedroom on the first floor — living room and two bedrooms on the lower floor. From July 2025, we can finally welcome you to Hanshagan – an authentic farmhouse, closely restored in 1920s style, but with modern comfort. The house has recently been carefully restored: original materials have been preserved, old craft traditions continued, and all with respect for the history of the place. Here you can experience life as it was – without sacrificing warmth, hygiene or convenience. Hanshagan is beautifully situated in Stange Vestbygd and offers views of fields, forests and Mjøsa.

The summer barn at Hovelsrud, Helgøya

The old summer barn of Hovelsrud Gård is idyllically located between Mjøsa and a rolling grain field – a simple and unique place for those who want to get close to nature and enjoy the tranquility of Helgøya. The house is best suited for a couple or a small family with up to two children. Inside, there is a bedroom and an open living room. Outside there is a kitchen counter with a gas burner and a grill, a small beach where you can swim, and an outdoor toilet. There is no electricity.

Start of the tour

Simple and peaceful accommodation in scenic surroundings. The cabin's location is on the northern side of Furuberget, and with lots of hiking trails and only 800 meters walk from the beach at Mjøsa, this is a good starting point for trips, relaxation and fun. Walking or cycling along the promenade from Jessnes to Hamar is a great trip of about 8 km, and a great starting point for many nice experiences.
