Ski-in/out vacation rentals in Placer County

It was very clean and had everything we needed. Our dog enjoyed the open space outside. It’s very close to the lake and has a lot of restaurants near by. Would definitely like to go back.

The Home Run Property is just that. It’s a beautiful home in an amazing location. We enjoyed peaceful walks as well as time in the hot tub. The room layout was perfect and the amount of seating was perfect for our large group. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could think of to prepare meals. Our family enjoyed our time at the house immensely. We will be sure to stay there again if we find ourselves in Tahoe. Thanks for a great vacation.

We had a great & very fun stay, and Laurel was very responsive. We were there to ski, and the Mountaineer shuttle service was really great! The deck and hot tub offered great views...and the house was very close to Palisades! As another renter commented...of the three bedrooms downstairs, you do need to go thru one bedroom to get to the other...this should perhaps be made more clear in the listing comments. If/when back at Palisades, we'll certainly consider this listing again!

Great location in Carnelian Bay overlooking the lake. Nice house with well stocked kitchen and amenities. Close to many Lake Tahoe destinations and host was very proactive in communication. Would recommend staying here and had a great time! Look forward to future trips.

We had such a great stay here with family and friends over the weekend! The cabin was beautiful, in a great location, and the host was super friendly and responsive. One thing that really stood out was how well-stocked everything was, which isn’t something we’ve typically seen at other Airbnbs. The kitchen had everything we needed, from pots and pans to coffee machines, spices, and seasonings, which was perfect since we did a lot of cooking. Just a heads-up if you’re a coffee person: they provide the machines but not the coffee, so be sure to bring your own! The place was also dog-friendly, which was a huge plus. We loved that there were tons of games, activities, and even outdoor gear to keep everyone entertained. You can tell the host really cares about the guest experience, and we’d definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful newer townhome in the quiet, private Mountainside development in Northstar. An incredible find—we loved the modern style & well-designed layout, walls of windows with awesome views, high ceilings & airy immaculate spaces, great storage, and best of all, that we were literally on the slopes. Step out the back door/back patio ONTO Home Run Trail, a legitimate ski-in / ski-out. We took off skiing every morning from the back door, came back for lunch/breaks, & skied home at the end of the day. We had such a great week with our 5 kids. Comfortable beds & linens. Well-stocked kitchen. We bbq’d tri tip one night. Great pool/spa/gym & lounge at the “Treehouse” visible from the house (short drive or a minute dash across the ski run after hours…). We enjoyed the big linear fireplace & cozy places to relax in the evenings. Everyone loved this place.

Not enough superlatives to describe this luxurious mountain retreat. Very well appointed. Amazing location. Great amenities. We are a family of 6 who had the best summer vacation here. Wish we had stayed 2 weeks. Can’t wait to come back for winter. I almost regret sharing this review because I want to keep this place to myself!

We had a wonderful annual ski trip at Northstar thanks to Anna the hosts at this cabin. They had extremely clear and helpful booklet with information on how to check in and operate the home. Our questions were quickly addressed. The home was nicely decorated and spacious. And it was well stocked with basic amenities. The location is unbeatable. The highlands gondola was a block away (you can either walk to the end of the cul-de-sac and ski down a small path, or ski through the backyard, as long as there is snow). The gondola takes you to the Ritz Carlton and the ski slopes.

It was awesome that the free shuttle picked me up right there. Fabulous space

We loved staying here. It was extremely comfortable. One of us even stayed home from skiing for the day to relax and enjoy the peaceful area and outdoor views. We also love the shoes-off policy: it makes us feel right at home and shows in the overall cleanliness. we are definitely bookmarking this place for future trips, maybe even in the summer!

Tracy was very easy to communicate with. We loved the ski in ski out. Her place is probably better than the other units in that area because clearly she spent the time to renovate the unit. Kitchen was fully stocked for cooking at home, but also close to the village to go get some quick bites would recommend her place in a heartbeat.

Kate is a fabulous host who is available to answer all of our questions and provided excellent instructions in terms of check-in and any questions that we had. It is a walk to the ski hill and we were so fortunate that NorthStar remained open for Easter weekend. We had a wonderful Easter holiday at her luxury condo that is equipped with everything that you could possibly need. We enjoyed the restaurants at the Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe along with sitting outside by the fire pits. We also enjoyed an afternoon at the spa which was absolutely amazing !! I would recommend staying at this beautiful condo to anyone looking for a relaxing and fun family vacation !! Thank you Kate we hope to come back soon !!!

The location of this condo cannot be beat, directly across from the lifts at Palisades Tahoe. Though it is right in the town, it is relatively quiet at night outside of some delivery/maintenance trucks, and there are multiple places to eat within walking distance. The beds were comfortable. One improvement that I would suggest for the hosts is smart TVs--the TV just had regular cable, and it would have been nice to be able to watch streaming shows with our own login. We did enjoy the multiple puzzles in the cabinet, however. Overall, we had a great stay!

Very easy place to stay if you’re skiing Palisades. Location, location, location.

Unbelievable location on Palisades mountain. The space is set up thoughtfully and has all the right amenities such as boot dryers, foam rollers, memory foam mattresses, power reclining seats, etc The whole place has been set up in a aesthetically pleasing and practically functioning way. The host was super organized and extremely accommodating to our requests. One of the best ski in and ski out experiences we've ever had and we would absolutely stay here again and recommend to friends and family.

Natalie went above and beyond making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in the front door. She is a great communicator and a pleasure to work with.

Marinas place is a Great serene lakes cabin. Good vibes and super tidy decor and amenities. Top notch kitchen. Lovely great room with cozy fireplace. Helpful friendly host and clear instructions to make the most of the stay.

We had a fantastic stay! The condo is quiet, spacious, and comfortable, with high-end appliances including TVs, a fridge, a dishwasher, a microwave oven, a smart thermostat, and a smart lock on the front door. It's also one of the closest Silver Strike units to the Northstar Village—less than a 5-minute walk—and you can ski right back to the unit. Highly recommend!

It was nice to have a 3 car garage to keep gear in. Particularly useful are the ski racks on the wall and the high Amperage heater in the garage. Keeps the gear dry after a day skiing. This house is just a couple of minutes by shuttle to the Palisades Base Lodge. You're guaranteed first chair if you get up and go get it! The circular fireplace is decadent and provides warmth and beauty. This is a great place for the real Tahoe Feel! I would return again for sure.

Not to take the easy way out and just say ditto, ditto, ditto, to all the great reviews below, but it was was exactly so, awesome! Scott was a great host with all communication, including the booking, check-in and departure routines, a class act all the way. The property was just as portrayed in every way and made a great base camp for our family snowmobiling adventure. It's a classic cabin with tasteful and thoughtful updates, roomy, well laid out and clean as a whistle. The wood-burning fireplace is a nice touch. No concerns and no regrets whatsoever, our stay couldn't have been better.

Fantastic place to stay with a group of friends, right on the edge of the forest and within minutes of the lake. Bonus for ping pong and pool table! Will come again!

Great Airbnb as described, the house was comfortable and the fireplace was great for the unusually cold weather in August, and so glad we had a hot tub. Backyard was great for our little pup. Within walking distance of restaurants, a beach and some trails. Great place to stay and Katie was very responsive.

We had an amazing stay at Julie's cabin. We were there for 3 nights. While we were there we had both a beautiful snow storm and a great sunny, post-snow storm day. The cabin was great for both conditions, it is super cozy, has a very nice wood burning stove that keeps you warm and is a fun activity and the living room opens up onto towering snow covered trees. If you're a cross country skier or snow shoe-er you couldn't find a better location, one of the Royal Gorge trails runs right through the backyard. Your also a short walk from Serene Lake, which provided a pleasant place to walk in the morning. Communicating with Julie was seamless, she was both proactive with great instructions upfront and responded super promptly when we had any questions. Would 100% recommend Julie's cabin to anyone looking to spend time in the Soda Springs/Norden/Sugar Bowl area.
