Alternatively, throw open the French doors to make the most of the beautiful setting and enjoy al fresco dining on the verandah, overlooking the lake—a king-size bed, with an ensuite bathroom/WC, and a large bath and shower overhead. The cottage is a Grade II listed barn conversion offering a welcoming base for your stay. Heating is provided by a biomass boiler, so very eco friendly. There is also a wood burning stove to keep you cosy. We are in a quiet village called East Cottingwith: a fantastic base for visiting York and touring Yorkshire. Ideal for cyclists, bird watchers, walkers and anyone who wishes to enjoy a rural location close to the attractions of the city of York. There is no regular public transport.
