An absolutely stunning apartment. Overlooking the whole of Fowey harbour, this beautifully presented apartment offers fabulous views from the living room and kitchen, and provides a flexible bedroom layout for either couples or friends staying in this brilliant waterside location. Just a couple of hundred yards from the Lugger Inn and the town quay at the centre of this quintessential Cornish fishing village.
“The many positive comments about this holiday let and its host Jeremy are all certainly true. We arrived to find the Captain's Cabin to be warm and clean with a stylish decor. What a thoughtful and welcome touch the bottle of fizz and homemade brownies was. No one could fail to be impressed by the unobstructed scenery from the bay window in the living room. The large bed was complimented with a cosy duvet and sumptuous pillows. Jeremy has provided an informative 'Welcome Book' which we found very useful for finding out about walks, eating out and general information regarding the surrounding location. The very local Lugger Pub mentioned was a great find for craft beer and good food - I can recommend the lemon sole and steak pie; the menu changes daily. We don't think you'll fail to fall in love with this idyllic place.”
If you like the idea of open plan loft living then Stargazer's 35 ft long studio apartment offers ample room to relax, in Polruan with great views of Cornwall's sailing town of Fowey and the river on one side, and the English Channel on the other.
“We have stayed in nearly 30 Airbnb's, and this was easily the most beautiful. The mouth of the river on one side, and the ocean on the other. It was a view we won't ever forget. The bedroom was beautiful and decorated so well, the kitchen had all the amenities of home, and the bathroom supplied more than the bare minimum. They provided nice body wash etc. The apt is within a fairly easy walking distance to the town and ferry to Fowey, but it might be a hilly struggle for the elderly or out of shape (like all of England, nothing worse), and it felt safe and familiar at night. Please note that most apartments around england do not have screens on the windows, and on ocean front spaces this invites some truly unwelcome insect company. The windows beg to be open, but just be aware that insects are alive and well and ready to enjoy your vacation with you if you let your guard down! Honestly I'd recommend this place to anyone/everyone.”
Midships is a traditional cottage with stunning river views from the open plan kitchen/lounge/diner & from the main bedroom. We refurbished it painstakingly over a 12 month period. Like so many Polruan properties there is reversed accommodation with a bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor, living room on the first floor and master bedroom on the second floor. We hope you love the cottage as much as we do! We have a travel cot available (but please let us know in advance if you need it).
“This is a beautiful little fisherman's cottage, full of character and decorated very tastefully. It is up the steep steps which ascend from East Street and therefore affords glorious views across the harbour towards Fowey. Indeed, one can watch the ferry so that one can time one's arrival at the quayside when one needs to go over to the other side. A tall ship was taken into the quayside for maintenance while we were in the cottage, which was quite a sight to behold. It was perfect for the five days I spent there with my family (four of us - two children aged 15 and 9). Our youngest spent much time with her bucket and spade at the harbour, and we enjoyed eating at the Lugger and drinking at the Russell. The walks (Hall Walk and the coastal path to Lantic Bay) were as wonderful as ever. Polruan is one of my favourite places in the world - especially at this time of year. I've been coming to watch the early signs of spring here (chiffchaffs, skylarks, primroses and wild garlic) for the best part of 30 years and I look forward to many returns.”
