Our cottage is a part of a great fitness facility with a 25m swimming pool and a Jungle Gym. Only 8 min away from Port Antonio, centrally located to all the sites and attractions. it has a great view, tons of fresh air, and a joy for bird watchers. The pool and gym are provided as a courtesy to our cottage guests. Few days a week we have the national swim/synchro team practicing (September-July). They are fun to watch. Owners live on the same property in separate house.
“We loved our stay at David and Olga's jungle cottage! It was absolutely amazing waking up in the morning to floor-to-ceiling views of the jungle. While it is close to the main residence and pool, the cottage itself feels very private and secluded - perfect to unwind and enjoy nature! The cottage had all of the amenities needed for a good stay. While there's not a full kitchen, they do have the basics for a coffee or tea in the morning or an easy snack. The water in the fridge upon arrival was a nice touch! They don't provide beach towels, though, so be sure to pack your own if you want to head to the beach during your trip. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean when we arrived with a guidebook of local suggestions to help us plan our trip. David and Olga were great with communication throughout the trip - David was out-of-town when we were there, but he checked in multiple times to make sure we were enjoying our stay. Olga was helpful when we ran into an issue with the ATMs in town and was quick to respond to any questions or requests we had. Note that the cottage is up a huge hill that isn't lit and very rutted/poorly paved. We had a rental car when we were there and it was definitely necessary - it's a drive to get to most of the main sites (Blue Lagoon, Frenchman's Cove, Port Antonio). It would have been a tough walk up the hill if we didn't have the car (although definitely good exercise!). We didn't take a taxi when we were there, but assuming that would be a slightly less convenient option if you didn't rent a car. All in all, a wonderful stay in beautiful Port Antonio! Definitely don't miss out on David and Olga's little jungle hideaway if you're in PA.”
Calm, cool, casual. This space perfectly embraces the beauty of Port Antonio. The space is a five minute drive from the nearby beach that can be seen in the photos. It is also 5 minutes away from the Port Antonio town where you can get to the restaurants, shopping centers etc. You can literally stand at the driveway and get a taxi to go wherever you want. Also, I have a dog living on the property, her name is Hillary, she's harmless. Once you give her a nice belly rub you can make her day.
“Lovely people and lovely place. They give you a warm welcome and greet you with some beverages. They let you know that they're availlable if you need anything. The place is nice, cozy and confortable with a Nice balcony to Enjoy. It's well maintained and it seems like much of the stuff in there is new. We have everything we need to cook/eat and hygiene. The location is good, it's not too far from the Town center. It's less than 5 min in taxi or about 20- 25 min walk. There are a few bar shops around the house and corner store. I really enjoyed my stay there and would have prolongated it if I didn't have other plans. I would definetely go back if I Come back to Port Antonio. :)”
small cottage with one double bed and one single bed..farthest from car park, about 300 steps up the hill..ideal for backpackers..large suitcases inadvisable..best view from wraparound verandah..about a 7 minute walk from the car park at the bottom of our steep hill..this cottage is not completely sealed from the rainforest so visitors may experience nature in lizard and insect form..it helps us if we know your approx. arrival time..easier to find us before dark..wifi at office courtyard
“Michael is an amazing host! Very helpful, with all the best tips to enjoy Port Antonio to its full potential. No matter what you need he “knows a guy” and helped us plan multiple excursions and pick up from the airport. Although the stairs are a factor, the view is a rewarding pay off. If you are able bodied they shouldn’t be much of an issue (my partner and I are smokers and made it up in 3-5 minutes) and many great restaurants and bars are minutes from the bottom. All the best beaches of the region are 10-20 minutes away in a route taxi which costs 1-2$. The bungalow itself is beautiful, with a scenic outdoor shower, and a wonderful wrap around deck with a view of the whole city. It is well equipped with anything and everything you may need. Although Port Antonio can get busy, mango ridge offers respite up in the jungle, and at night all you can hear is crickets, frogs and whatever other creatures you will share the jungle with. If you’re planning a trip to Jamaica, make sure you visit Port Antonio, and if you’re visiting Port Antonio, make sure you stay with Michael.”
