Light and airy seaside cottage with lots of character. Built in around 1900, it was originally home to one of the local coastguards who were stationed in the village. Cosy and comfortable sitting room with log burner. Open plan kitchen diner opening in to the sunny sheltered garden. The kitchen is well equipped, with microwave, electric oven, washer dryer and dishwasher. There is a double bedroom and a single room with bunk beds. The family bathroom is downstairs, and we have an upstairs toilet.
“My husband and I had a lovely few days relaxing in Martha's spotless, cosy cottage. We would fully recommend it for a couple or families with a couple of young children. The location was great too. You can walk from the cottage to the Nature Reserve and the pebbly beach. There are 2 pubs also within very easy walking distance. We had a good meal at William the Conqueror. Unfortunately the Inkerman Arms wasn't doing food during February ( even though they'd advertised food times outside the pub ). We went to The Bosun's Bite Cafe 3 times for their delicious (huge) breakfast. I would really recommend this cafe. The staff are friendly and the food freshly cooked to order. Their cakes looked delicious too! Be aware that they only take cash in payment. We would love to come back to Martha's cottage again. We loved how peaceful the area was but I expect it is completely different in the summer months as I think it must be very popular with visitors.”

“Filled with light and artistic touches, The Nook was a wonderful weekend break for us. Plenty of room for a family of four and our girls enjoyed the upstairs ‘play room’ area very much - they’d never seen so many packs of Top Trumps. The library with its back copies of lifestyle magazines and vintage books is a joy for adults too. Thoughtful touches such as colouring pencils and fresh ground coffee for the cafetière were much appreciated. Great communication from Sarah. Thank you.”

“The place is a small comfortable studio with a separate entrance through the garden. Once in the garden you know you are up for a very restful time. Mary and Andrew really think through all the details of the stay from stocking up on food to making sure the place is warm. We were 2 minutes walking from the beach and then a beautiful 1 hour hike to rye town either by the sea or through some scenic marshes. Highly recommend!”
