  • This is my second time staying here and Tim & Rina’s house is truly a home away from home. Except the view is likely better than anyone else’s. The entire house is warm and just beautiful in every sense. We’ve become friends now and saying goodbye is always so difficult because they are such lovely people and it always feels like there’s not enough time there.

  • A beautiful home with stunning views over the valleys and hills. The owners have converted an old Welsh longhouse into a very comfortable, spacious home. There are plenty of walks straight from the front door and many places of interest nearby. A unique experience.

  • We held a really glorious retreat at the Highlands. Everyone was blown away by the view, the land and the glorious house. Tim & Rina are such happy, fun hosts. Their home is full of character, books, music and joy. Thank you for the opportunity to stay in such an incredible space!

  • We had a fantastic stay here. The views and scenery surrounding the property is truly spectacular. We made the most of being outdoors by sitting out and using the bbq. The rooms are well equipped and beds comfortable, with extra camp beds if needed. The hosts were fantastic- helping out with the shopping as we were all running late! We will definitely keep this property in mind for any future group trips and holidays!

  • Amazing timber framed long house overlooking the beautiful Welsh valleys. Tim was a great host and made sure our visit was smooth and enjoyable. We had an awesome time and couldn’t recommend the house and setting more.

  • Couldn't recommend this place enough. Nothing short of a dream. Thank you :)

    Anam2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin was lovely and cosy. Hele left a surprise for my partner and I as it was our anniversary. The bed was huge, the place was comfortable and warm and had everything we needed. It was better than expected and we’d definitely stay again. Hele was really helpful sending directions prior to us arriving and reassured us she was a phone call away should we need her

    Cody2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay here for 2 nights, highly recommend.

    Ben2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We really had a peaceful stay at Hele. If you like to wake up with and have a beautyful view in the morning while taking waking up, this is the place to be;)

    Erika2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Hele and the family are wonderful hosts. Offering tips on the local area and nothing was too much trouble. The cabin was even better than the pictures and had loads of extra touches that were lovely. I said I might like to do some walks when I was there and there were maps left in the cabin ready for me. Beautiful view, lovely accomondation - wonderful stay. Thank you very much, Hannah

    Hannah2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay. The bed was so comfy. One of the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a long time. We could both see the time, effort and thought that had gone in to the log cabin(s). We would definitely consider staying again in the future.

    James2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our 2 nights at Heles cabins, our only regret was not booking a longer trip! Hele is a very warm & welcoming host (as are the animals) & has put alot of thought into the cabins. We have a super king sized bed at home and we're very happy to discover an even larger bed in our cabin, which was extremely comfortable. Unfortunately we DID have to leave the cabin occasionally to get some of the planned walking in but the comfort of the cabin was quickly forgotten when we saw the views. We have never seen views as beautiful as we did at the farm. From the top of the hill by the mini stone henge or from the cabin window or from the cabin deck, which has seating and even an outside burner to use which Hele kindly gave us the wood to burn. It was a lovely romantic break & we will definitely be returning to Heles cabins again

A tranquil and secluded bespoke-built Shepherd’s Hut in an enviable location with stunning views. The hut has its own wood fired hot tub from which you can star gaze on clear nights. Our Shepherd’s Hut has been decorated in a comfortable “Laura Ashley” style by the owner – a retired designer. You will find a comfortable double bed, table and chairs, kitchen, shower room and toilet. The Shepherd’s Hut enjoys spectacular views from all windows across the Welsh countryside.
A continental breakfast is included for the first night and is available to buy after that if required. There is a dedicated parking area close to the Shepherd’s Hut with easy access to the accommodation so guests can come and go as they please. The farmstead is south facing with only one Shepherd’s Hut, which is not overlooked. Rather it is in its own secluded space. The farmstead is approached by a long driveway (don’t rush) then through gates. Our home was previously a working farm but the owners retired and sold most of the land to a nearby farm, so expect amazing uninterrupted views, lots of sheep and occasionally cows over the fence. The hot tub can be filled and the fire lit during the day before guests arrive for their first night.
If you can tear yourself away from the hot tub there is plenty to do in the area. Dolforwen Castle ruins are 1.5 miles away, Montgomery Castle ruins 8 miles, Powys Castle (National Trust) is 12 miles away near Welshpool, and Chirk Castle (also NT) is 35 miles. Glansevern Hall and gardens with its Courtyard Restaurant (Wed to Sun) is 7 miles. The Laura Ashley Factory Shop, Oriel Davies Art Gallery, Newtown Textile Museum, Robert Owen (Father of the worldwide Co-operative Movement) Museum, a cinema and a range of shops, pubs and restaurants are available in Newtown, 4 miles away, with Tesco’s and Morrison’s supermarkets only 3 miles away. The Bull and Heifer pub in Bettws Cedewain is 2 miles away.
  • A beautiful place with a beautiful view! Warm welcome, cosy, lovely breakfast hamper and great value!

    Steffan2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing stay at Allan & Yvonne’s place!! Everything was perfect, the bed was very comfy & cosy & all the extra amenities like the food hamper was great! The hot tub with a view was unreal & the logs provided lasted us all weekend. Would recommend this place to everyone, me and my girlfriend had such a relaxing weekend and the pictures don’t do it justice. Allan & Yvonne were great hosts, really welcoming & helpful!

    Luke2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most amazing experience, our accommodation was extremely stylish with everything we could need, breakfast hamper & complimentary toiletries were very nice touch. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub with amazing views across the countryside, with an exceptional host who ensured that we had enough logs to keep our fire going and provided us with nice hot water and hours of fun. A big thank you to Allan & Yvonne for allowing us to stay in your beautiful Shepherds Hut, you were both the perfect hosts and we are already looking to book our return trip in the summer.

    Claire2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • A hidden little gem in the welsh countryside, you couldn’t find a more cosy and romantic spot if you tried. Allan and Yvonne did such a lovely job on the design and decorating of the hut, you will so nice and warm in this sweet hut. Perfect place to relax after a stressful week, brilliant hosts and would highly recommend to anyone.

  • Andrew's home is located in a village in the middle of Galles. Wonderful nature around and many opportunities to do activities outside. It is not far away from the main station (only 20 min walk) and there is a nice path along the river. The home is big, spacious and really well maintained. The is a big bathroom and kitchen. The small garden is simply lovely. The bedroom is quite big and the bed is comfortable and large. I hope to come back soon and to spend more days in your lovely home Andrew! Thank you very much again!

  • Thanks for having Rob. He loved your place

  • Very clean and quiet house with breakfast too!

    Julia2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Best place I’ve stayed Andrew is very welcoming and helpful his house is very clean it feels like a home away from home

    Ryan2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • The house is located on a small housing estate about 1.5 Kilometers from Newtown centre where you can find all of the usual facilities. For adventurous guests there is a pathway that starts just a few hundred yards from the house that follows the river Severn into town, which takes about 20 minutes. This is also part of the official Severn Way Path. The house has all amenities, a spacious kitchen and lounge with Sky TV. There is also a bijou back yard for sitting and relaxing in if the weather is nice and it is what you like! Upstairs there is a comfortable bedroom and a nice bathroom with a large shower and an equally large bath which I did not use because I did not have the time but it looked very inviting. The host allows free access to the fridge and its contents, although it is advisable to provide food and drink to suit your own personal tastes, as I did. I think the accommodation will suit most peoples requirements and they will be made very welcome.

    Michael2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew is a very likeable person who makes me feel welcome. His house is comfortable clean and tidy. I recommend him highly.

  • We stayed at Garn Lodge for the weekend for my boyfriends birthday. Philip greeted us on arrival and showed us around. It was a beautiful little cosy lodge with everything you need. We had an issue with signal on the TV due to the weather but Philip did go out of his way to do what we could to sort the issue, which we were very grateful for. We had welsh cakes made by Lin which were lovely and complimentary wine for the TV issue which was appreciated! We’d happily visit again! (Hopefully with better weather!!)

  • A perfectly 5* BnB. Top quality furnishings and linen. Everything you need for a short or long stay. Quiet and peaceful with hosts that are friendly but not intrusive. Plenty of space for relaxing.

  • Friendly, helpful hosts. Very comfortable bed and sofa. Warm, clean and cosy lodge. Lovely location and great for walks

    Hilary2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Garn Lodge was everything I expected and more. Philip is a great host, he greeted me upon arrival, showed me how everything works and presented me with welsh cakes (baked by his wife; which were amazing!) and then altered the heating timer settings to suit my needs. The lodge was spotless, cosy and very warm!! The shower is nice and powerful, the bed is comfortable and there are little additions that make it a perfect stay, like the hairdryer, steam iron, toiletries, large soft towels to use, as well as having mint water and fresh milk in the fridge! The only slight negative would be the wifi, as it had a tendency to drop in and out of connection if you used more that one device i.e. phone and laptop. This was a slight hindrance for me due to a high workload needing to be completed but if it was just a leisurely stay I can't say it happened frequently enough to be an issue. Overall a perfect stay.

    Emma2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing place in an amazing location. Close to Newtown and so peaceful and quiet. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Mid Wales and switch off for a couple of days then this is the perfect retreat. Everything was 10/10. You can’t beat that! One word summary. Fantastic

Brand new conversion of an old brick barn, Ty Mochyn is a lovingly created self catering holiday accommodation. Luxury, style and comfort in a beautiful, peaceful, rural setting with friendly hosts to welcome you and take care of any needs and interests you have.
Ty Mochyn (Pig House) was completed in 2017, a conversion from an attached old brick pigsty and barn that made up part of the 17th century farmstead to create a self contained self catering holiday cottage. Ty Mochyn is attached to the owners 17th century cottage and is set in the stunning mid Wales countryside in a secluded location with views over the rolling Welsh hills. With gorgeous contemporary retro furnishings Ty Mochyn has been designed with your comfort and ease of use in mind. This two storey/ one bedroom/one bathroom/ open plan living room and kitchen diner has all the mod cons including wi fi and Sky TV, whilst retaining its original charm and character. There is parking at the property, and we are putting finishing touches to the garden to include seating with fire pit and BBQ.
We live a mile and a half outside Newtown with all its amenities, and one mile from the village of Kerry. Access to our place is down a private track, so we are not overlooked by anyone. The mid Wales countryside has much to offer and benefits from miles of scenically gorgeous quiet lanes showing off rolling hills, mountains, lakes and forests as well as castles, pretty villages, steam railways and more.
  • This place will knock your socks off. It’s amazing!! The house is incredible, the views are stunning and the hosts are super friendly with super fast communication. We loved every second of being here and will be back again and again. Great location, quiet enough to escape from everything but everything you need is just a quick drive away. Honestly cannot praise this place enough, we loved it!!! (Also loved the chocolates and other bits and pieces there for our arrival!!)

    Lesley2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Just, wow! What a place. Ty Mochyn is a stunning escape, tucked away down a long ferny drive, with beautiful views of surrounding countryside, yet just a short drive to the centre of Newtown. The lovely superhosts Andrea and Haydee went out of their way to accommodate me and were an absolute joy to meet and chat to. Communication with them was excellent and very friendly. Petal and Busy, the two friendly resident dogs gave a warm welcome too and provided much entertainment :) I felt at home immediately in Ty Mochyn, which was designed by the amazingly talented Haydee. The property is located a couple of doors down from the hosts stunning 17th century home so they are never far away if you need anything. Equally, it is quietly tucked away enough to also be very private and not at all overlooked. The house is flawless, sparkling clean, comfortable (especially the bed) and so stylish, crammed with personality and gorgeous art made with the lovely Andrea's own fair hands. A balance of cottage charm and contemporary style. Ty Mochyn boasts a lovely powerful shower and a fully equipped kitchen complete with some very funky lighting. The outdoor space is stunning and full of character. Sky TV and Alexa were much appreciated touches as were the fresh flowers and refreshments upon arrival. With views of the countryside from every window it's a beautiful place to wake up to and a welcoming place to head home to after a long day exploring the wonders of Mid-Wales. It really is a special place ran by fantastic hosts. Go and see for yourself, you wont regret it!

Beautifully decorated shepherd's hut in its own field with stunning views across the rolling hills of Mid-Wales. Sited for privacy, furnished for comfort, created with our guests' well-being in mind, we believe our shepherd's hut is the perfect antidote to "busy".
It is our aim to offer our guests the chance to leave behind the busy and complicated modern world and return to basics, close to nature and all it has to offer for a restorative and memorable countryside break. A real chance to unplug from the world and connect with nature. The hut has been furnished and decorated to make it into a cosy and comfortable space to relax, rest and sleep. A deep wool mattress and wool duvets ensure a fabulous night’s sleep and with lots of cushions, pillows, bolsters and quilts, the double bed can be transformed into a luxurious reading den! The small but efficient woodburner will keep you warm and toasty inside. We offer the hut on a bed & breakfast basis with a choice of either a cooked breakfast at our house (a short walk away) or a breakfast basket (continental-style) delivered to the hut.
Quiet rural location with stunning views across the hills that will appeal to nature and wildlife lovers. Great spot for birdwatching. On a clear night, stargazing is a must! As well as interesting places to visit locally, there is plenty of scope for walking and cycling around us, the lanes being so quiet. The site has been created with minimal impact on the environment.

  • You have to come here!! As much as we’d like to keep this place a secret for ourselves Maryline deserves all the reviews she gets. This experience is exceptional- the hut is decorated to perfection, we could not believe the attention to detail. You may be off grid, but it has been done so comfortably that it left us wondering about future life changes of our own. And marylines breakfast! All home made goodies that I keep telling all my friends about. Can’t recommend highly enough - sending my parents here ASAP

You're lovely and warm with a fire and hot water bottle. There were so many lovely and thoughtful touches throughout the stay. The breakfast basket brought to us while we were still in bed was incredible and catered for my vegan needs. Maryline is a perfect host, a lovely person who couldn't do enough for you. Such a special time. Stay here!!

  • This place is AMAZING! The photos and description, although they are great, do not do this place justice. The location is about perfect. The hut is in its own field a distance away from any property. That means total seclusion. The views from the hut are to die for. The hut is super cosy, clean, and with about all the little touches you could want. Maryline is delightful. And breakfast is wonderful. If you want a place to drop out and reset this is for you. We will be back very soon.

A beautiful two bedroom old Welsh stone cottage, set in the hills with stunning views and sunsets, with one acre of shared gardens situated in the Welsh hills, beautiful sunsets and star filled nights. One bedroom has three single beds in it, the other bedroom has a superking size bed which can be unzipped into two singles to make this room into a twin room. Large kitchen, two bathrooms, cosy living room with log burner, large dining table, large front porch.
A relaxed and peaceful space, it's a perfect place to unwind. Outside there is a large shared garden to enjoy with plenty of quiet places to sit and rest with views across the valley. Also on the land here is a gypsy caravan, wooden cabin and pod, and the Fiber Art Studio where guests can book personal one to one or small group workshops in creative crochet, wet felting, woodland weaving, handspun yarn & drop spindle spinning, amongst other things.
The views are absolutely stunning we get the most beautiful sunsets across the valley, also on clear nights sometimes I feel dizzy looking up at the stars as you can see so many it's quite unbelievable if you've grown up in a city or town like myself. The people of Montgomery are so friendly and very welcoming. There are some wonderful eateries and shops in the little town and the castle ruins are lovely to wonder round. Montgomery has been described as a place where time forgot and I totally understand why. It's the perfect place to get away from it all, whilst there is still plenty of wonderful places nearby to visit.
  • Lovely cosy cottage. Best nights sleep for ages. A bit cold the first night but Luke was great getting the boiler going again and lighting the log burner and making sure we had plenty of wood. We loved our stay even if the weather was at its worst (thanks Storm Dennis!). Thanks for the thoughtful touches too (milk and welsh cakes) - always lovely.

  • Lovely cottage, much bigger and nicer than pics show. Situated next door to hosts but felt very private. Very homely and warm even with december weather. The cottage has all you need, with comfy beds. Location is beautiful, we visited powis castle during our stay. Friendly hosts who had great communication prior to our stay. Would highly recommend! We were a party of 4 adults and 1 3 year old. Almost forgot, lovely christmas tree which was a lovely touch, not to mention milk and welsh cake.

  • A charming cottage in a beautiful location hosted by a lovely family. We had a great time exploring the area. I’m afraid our photos of the stars didn’t come out very well, but nothing beats seeing them in the flesh in any case.

  • A charming cottage. Cosy and warm (we stayed in October 2019). My Waze sat nav got us there without a hitch. Would highly recommend it as a base for exploring this part of Wales. Comfortable and peaceful. The Milk, Welsh cakes, tea and coffee there on our arrival was a thoughtful touch.

A delightful, 2 bedroom, wood beamed grade II listed cottage, with a wealth of character and original features, sleeps 4+1. Lovely oak staircase with original flooring throughout, and a stunning ancient chimney breast. The cottage is just a stone’s throw from the very centre of the picturesque ancient border town of Montgomery in Powys, filled with a wealth of historical buildings. Far reaching views from the gardens and the magnificent castle ruins are just 2 minutes walk from the kitchen door.
Montgomery and its castle were positioned strategically to take advantage of far reaching views across the Offa’s Dyke border into England. The town, the castle, the memorial hill and their surrounding walks command impressive scenic views every way that one looks. Nearby outdoor activities include hiking, cycling, horse riding, fishing, golf, boating, canoeing, landscape and wildlife photography. The panoramic view of Montgomery from the castle only hints at the character of this small, ancient town. Explore the streets yourself and discover some of the 141 listed buildings that have survived since the town came into being, thanks to William the Conqueror in 1070. Nowadays the town offers a variety of excellent eating establishments from quaint cafes to Bistro dining as well as a gallery, craft shops, antiques and of course a supermarket and post office. Saturdays the town still has a small market and the Georgian town hall can provide local fruit and veg, just like it’s been doing since 1748. Often seen around town, in full ceremonial dress are the Mayor and Lady Town Crier. One will certainly spot them if you are lucky enough to coincide your visit with one of the many town events or functions. Bank Cottage is a traditional, semi-detached, wood beamed cottage which oozes character. Accommodation includes two, oak-floored bedrooms, an oak staircase and landing, a modern bath/shower room, a compact, quirky, functional kitchen, dining and living rooms with exposed original beams, with a wood-burning stove set into the chimney that still contains the original bread oven. Incidentally though now not in use, the cottage also has a fireplace in the cellar. The wood-burner fills the cottage with character, atmosphere and warmth however this does not need to be used as the cottage benefits from electric heating throughout. Other features are, a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, oven/hob and fridge/freezer. Bank Cottage has hi speed, full fibre internet and television with “Freeview” satellite channels where you will also find the normal satellite radio channels. Outdoors, is an enclosed front garden with access to the original cellar that can provide storage for hiking gear and bicycles, should you wish to bring them. To the rear, is a larger garden, with washing line, picnic bench and BBQ area and a simple garden to relax in. Adjacent on street parking. Less than ten miles, the towns of Welshpool or Newtown offer full shopping and facilities of all major supermarkets, should you need them. The former has an interesting canal museum and also recreational activities along the canal as well as the grand and imposing National Trust property of Powis Castle and its gardens. Both towns have local train stations. Slightly further afield, Shrewsbury is a large, bustling town worth a day trip to explore. Buses can connect to any of these towns. Montgomery makes an idyllic base for a peaceful holiday, with plenty to do just outside the front door. For example, Walk part of the famous Offa’s Dyke path. Visit The Old Bell museum. Nostalgia to be found in the Model Car museum. Quirky finds to take home from The Little Gallery. Unique pottery at Claudia Lis ceramics. Step back in time and explore shops like ‘Bunner’s Hardware’ or ‘Antique Ideology’. Sample a pint brewed here in Montgomery at any of the pubs or enjoy a visit to ‘Monty’s Brewery Visitor Centre’. Trek through the woods and find one of the many footpaths up to the castle. Take in the vista of the panoramic 360degree views from the Montgomery Monument. Enjoy some sport such as swimming at the private pool of The Dragon Hotel, play some tennis, rent some bicycles and explore the quiet backlanes with a self-guided route map. Or just catch an afternoon of cricket at Lymore Park. Find time for the splendour of the 13th century church and particularly the atmospheric graveyard where you might find the mysterious and infamous ‘Robber’s Grave’. For eating there’s Castle Kitchen (deli and café) Ivy House café (and Post Office) The acclaimed Dragon Hotel Restaurant or Checker’s Pantry ( infamous for handing back their Michelin Star in 2018) All of the above and more is right on the doorstep but if you wanted to explore further afield, a drive out there are characterful Welsh towns such as Dolgellau, Beddgelert, Machynlleth, Llangollen, Llandrindod Wells or even get to the coast and discover the Victorian splendour of Aberystwyth. Snowdownia National Park an hour or so away is a haven of wilderness where one can hike to Snowdon’s peak or ride the historic railway to the top. The Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) is a wold renowned resource that’s been promoting sustainability since the 1970’s. A fascinating day trip. Lake Vyrnwy, the other side of Welshpool is an enchanting 5 mile long reservoir that offers canoes, bike hire, hiking, cafes and fine dining. Impossible to not be impressed by the Victorian engineering that created not just the dam but also the 109 km tunnel that provides Liverpool with drinking water to this day. En route, why not stop by and visit Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, not as wide but higher than Niagara Falls. All in all whatever you choose, Bank Cottage and Montgomery will ensure that you have an enjoyable visit. Angela
An amazing town with some great places to dine and unusual shops to discover from the recently opened 'Eaves & Lord' bookshop to the long established Aladdin's cave store known as 'Bunners', run by the same family since 1892, Fantastic walking in and around the town including the famous Offa's Dyke long range footpath.
  • Great little cottage full of charm, location is wonderful, the village is very welcoming with great little cafes, pubs and fantastic walks.

    Sarah2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great house with tons of history in it. Beautifully situated on top of a hill with fantastic views. The house was well equipped and had everything we needed . The town was gorgeous with so much history around every corner. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Had a wonderful time at Angie’s cottage. Weather was on our side and managed to make use of the BBQ and garden. Thoughtful touches upon arrival at the cottage, including welcome beers; milk for teas/coffee and use of the Sonos for the weekend. My only caution would be to say that it is an old cottage so expect low ceilings in places. The Dragon hotel in the village was fully booked for dinner over the bank holiday, so can’t comment on their menu, but I highly recommend the Nag’s Head which is only a 7 minute drive. Superb dinner, including a variety of gluten free options. I also suggest sampling their cocktail menu!

    Jo2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Really beautiful cottage, may be a challenge for tall people, lots if room to move around and spotlessly clean. Best part though, only 2 mins from the nearest pub (The Crown) staff and punters are really friendly and Real Ale on tap. Well worth a look if you want somewhere quiet for a few days.

    Mark2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great few days in this cosy cottage. There is everything you need and if you forget anything there's a Spar a couple of minutes down the hill. The cottage is comfy and the location and views are perfect. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend without hesitation.

  • Great little cottage, kids loved the triple room. Montgomery show was brilliant fun!

    Hannah2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely short stay in the cottage. It’s is in an enviable location in Montgomery between the centre and the castle. Lots of recommendations for the local area were provided and great communication from Angie made it seamless.

A perfect regency retreat on the edge of a popular village within the border countryside of Mid Wales, ideal for families and friends looking for a little bit of luxurious serenity.
  • My expectations were high given the reviews I saw prior to booking. I was not disappointed and neither were the expectations of my fellow visitors. It's a cracking property at the bottom of a beautiful valley surrounded by well over 1000 years of visible history including old hill forts, roman camps, a ford across the Severn, castles and ancient trackways. And of course Offa's Dyke. The property is large, with beautifully high ceilings, large windows and a great bathroom as well as a great kitchen. Facilities include a washing machine and tumble drier, iron, dishwasher and log burner. Wifi was good and the house was warm. It was very clean on arrival. Dawn was very helpful, would supply logs very quickly and clearly takes a great deal of pride in the property. I'd also love to return in the summer months. A great find, as far as we were concerned, with a peaceful and homely feel to it. A lovely spot, too.

Great location, very clean and full of character...we really looked forward to the delicious rock cakes freshly baked for our arrival by Dawn and lighting the wood burner for a cosy night in....thanks till next time 👍

  • We had a great weekend at the Old Rectory. Dawn was very prompt to reply to our questions and was very welcoming on our arrival. The house was immaculate and the although we didn't really cook the kitchen cupboards were well stocked with all that you'd need. Peaceful location. Wish we could have stayed for longer.

    Marion2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful period property in a stunning setting. Perfect for our relaxing break with a (bit of local exploring). The log fire and comfy sofa we're a real treat. We travelled as a couple this time but would certainly return with our daughter as it's very family friendly too. A perfect get away from the city. And those beautiful windows and idyllic views had me wanting to stay longer.

    Lisa2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We were staying in the area for a wedding with my parents and baby boy. The accommodation was perfect - beautiful views and huge, gorgeous rooms. The property was really clean, and Dawn had left homemade rock cakes for us which was a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend.

  • Lovely place to stay, quite village with shop and hotel within a stones throw, Heather very helpful ,and would recommend her property to anyone

    Karen2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • I love this place. I would recommend it to visitors to Mid-wales. Heathers place is really nice and has everything you will need the joy this beautiful part of Wales!

  • This village stay is a spotlessly clean well presented property. All you could possibly need to make you feel at ease. Heather's communication was prompt and helpful.

    Isabel2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The house is brilliant. Everything is to a very high standard, and light and airy. I will not list everything but want to mention most comfortable beds and full kitchen facilities. Also we enjoyed breakfasting on the terrace. There is parking right outside the front door although sometimes locals will park there. The village is quiet and beautiful. You have a choice of two good places to eat and drink within yards. A grocery and butcher are also just yards away. There is also a lovely walk along the picturesque canal that is fairly flat. Locally Powis Castle has the best gardens I have seen and we took Heather’s advice to visit a lake/reservoir which included a genuine ‘Wow!’ moment.

    Edward2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely homely space with everything you need in this pretty village. The balcony was a real sun trap.

    Heidi2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • The Old Corner Shop is a lovely property in a great little village with everything you need in spitting distance - a butcher, a tea shop that also does amazing and reasonable breakfasts, two pubs (one gastro and one serving classic pub grub), great walking by the river or along the canal and easy access to The lovely Powis Castle and Glansevern Hall Gardens. Glansevern is walking distance. Welshpool itself doesn’t have much to commend it but we enjoyed a trip on the narrow guage railway and ate at Fabrizio’s Italian restaurant which is run by an Italian family and the food is really authentic. The accommodation itself has everything you need. Perfect.

  • When we booked our long weekend stay we had an idea in our heads of what the cottage would be like. Upon arrival we were so pleased with the location, it wasnt what we were expecting at all. Right next to the River Severn with views of the river from all three bedrooms. Quite little villiage with a wonderful pub a stones throw away and a lovely small local shop next door which is convenient. We stayed with three children aged 8, 10, 12 and they loved it here. Fantastic communication with Amy when needed. Would 100% stay again in the near future for sure.

  • The four of us loved our short break. The children enjoyed watching the cows and views are fantastic from the cottage. It’s a lovely space to spend a few days with more than everything you need and conveniently located to explore the local area. A great find!

    Louisa2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is gorgeous. The photos don't do it justice! Had a lovely two night stay here, could have stayed longer it was so nice and cosy. A highlight was watching one of the cows give birth, the kids were amazed (and me!). The views are lovely and although it's in the countryside it's not too far from a supermarket which is handy. We came in all the flood weather so we didn't get out to see the local attractions, but will definitely go back again when the weather improves and make use of the garden and visit the areas nearby.

Every evening we sat outside and had our dinner, the views are beautiful. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable three days.

  • Fantastic location, lovely property with a good outside space for the children to run around. Definite plus point was the children's trip to see the cows being milked and tasting some fresh milk afterwards. They loved watching the cows from the windows and the two dogs. A lovely family who made us feel very welcome. We had a great trip to Powis castle. Perfect for families or couples to explore the grounds and castle.

  • Both Zoe and Phil really made us feel at home, excellent place and if you have a fellow 4 legged friend, lots of space for them to runaround! The fresh bread in our room was a lovely surprise and made a lovely comforting breakfast. The room was very spacious with great bathroom and kitchen facilities! Thank you! Would stay again!

  • Zoe and Phil were great hosts, both really friendly and welcoming suggesting local places to eat and even baking us a delicious loaf for when we arrived. The room was clean and had everything we could possibly have needed - the best equipped kitchen in an airbnb I've seen! It was great to be able to spend time outside and enjoy the weather during our stay and Zoe's home is in a great location for this. Thanks very much!

  • Had a great stay here - a lovely warm welcome on arrival, and we were shown up to a very well-appointed apartment. The bed was large and comfortable, WiFi is available if you want it, there are soaps and shower gels ready for you in the bathroom, and the kitchen was stocked with tea, coffee, and breakfast. Very happy, would stay here again

  • From initial communications to checkout, staying at Zoe's place was a fabulous experience. The appartment was clean and comfortable, with lovely treats such as delicious home made bread and port included. Zoe and Phil gave us a very warm welcome. Despite the peaceful rural setting, we had everything we needed such as broadband, local shops etc. We had a lovely time and would definitely stay again.

Zoe was friendly and welcoming and gave us tips on where to eat. Had a fantastic meal in the local town at the Wagon and horses. We slept fantastically in the comfy bed and it was very quiet.

  • Debbie met us at the door. She was very friendly and showed us our room. This was delightful and had lovely views over the surrounding countryside. The fridge had milk in and a bottle of water. The rooms were very clean and breakfast lovely. A variety of preserves (including Marmite). Plenty of Fruit, cereal and eggs. Cooked breakfasts were also available though we didn't try them. Gardens are spacious and lovely on the banks of the River Severn. Debbie gave good advice about places to eat and there were plenty of leaflets available too. It's a very short distance to the Wedding Venue Garth Mill Hall. Excellent host and accommodation. Lovely stay.

  • Loved this house! Goes without saying that the surroundings were beautiful but the little touches such as the generous welcome hamper and White Company cosmetics were a surprise. A little off the beaten track, but the directions were accurate and we had no trouble finding the house when we arrived late at night.

  • We had a lovely stay in Clara’s cottage. We were attending a wedding at nearby Garthmyl Hall, which was just under ten mins away in a taxi so really ideal. Stayed for 2 nights. The house has all the amenities you need, including lovely clean/modern bathroom facilities and a cosy bedroom with very comfy bed. Netflix in both bedroom and front room and a lovely log fire for colder nights. We had a drink in 2 of the local pubs, both pleasant and within easy walking distance. Very pretty village, nice fish and chip shop too if you don’t fancy cooking! Clara was so helpful in the run up to our stay answering all my queries super quickly! She recommended local taxis and hairdressers for the wedding that worked out well. Thanks Clara! I would totally recommend ! ☺️
