A really beautiful location and a cosy space. The farm has all kind of animals (horses, sheep, goats, ducks) that entertained our 17 month old daughter. The hosts were also very communicative and helpful throughout.

A charming little converted barn in a pretty, countryside location. The animals on the farm will be a hit with small children! Space is limited, but size isn't everything!

If you are looking for a peaceful and tranquil get away then the old barn is for you. Set in rural countryside but 10 mins from the nearest town. A perfect base for exploring East Sussex, or just to get away from the busy lives we all lead. Louise couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. The accommodation was simply perfect and our puppy was really safe and happy as well. Thoroughly recommend a visit - we shall be returning!

A lovely weekend stay in a fabulous little barn conversion. A peaceful spot to explore beautiful Sussex and Kent! Very near to the pretty historical town of Battle and the stunning Bateman's National Trust property, both well worth a visit and very close by. The barn was something straight out of a fairytale, with everything we needed - very quirky and perfect for our little Jack Russell to potter around in both the barn and outside in the fenced garden. Magical stay :)

Atmospheric cottage in a scenic location with many things to do and visit nearby - even in rainy weather. Do listen to Louise's directions, satnav doesn't work as there's no signal in the area and the address takes you somewhere else. Lots of beamy charm in the house and a magnificent garden with palm trees!

Lovely little place set in beautiful location, quiet and remote for a peaceful stay. Accommodated for our little one with high chair and cot bed and the enclosed garden was perfect. Only negative was that the shower was not great but this was minor. A great place to stay. Thank you.

Very charming cottage with beautiful surroundings. Not far away from Battle, we also visited Hastings, Eastbourne, Rye and went to the beach. Our young kids really enjoyed seeing the animals that are on site. We had a very quiet and pleasant stay.

Highly recommended!! We had a wonderful stay at the cottage and it was ideal for the five of us. It's set in beautiful farmland and is incredibly peaceful. The cottage is beautifully decorated and was well equipped with everything we needed. We didn't want to leave!

Great few days away, the property is in the middle of the beautiful countryside but not too far away from the good sized town, Bexhill, the family that own the property are in the area and very helpful and friendly. We took our 5 young children here and they loved it, with woodlands, fields and just outdoory things to do everywhere. Great place to just cut off from the wider world and enjoy the quiet.

The cottage is lovely - just as described - except that the photos do not do the garden justice! The Ash Tree Inn is about a mile away - a nice walk with good food at the end. Nice touches such as ample toiletries and all the herbs/spices you would need.

The cottage was everything we were looking for and more. As a group of five mum's looking for a weekend girls' retreat, this was perfect. House was clean and comfortable and very rural. Would definitely recommend if you want to get away from it all.

We stayed here for the weekend for my husbands 60th birthday and it was magical. Amanda was so accommodating and easy to contact. The cottage was truly idyllic and so much prettier than the photos. The gardens are just lovely and the inside is so clean and cosy with lovely crisp white bedding and fluffy white towels...heaven! This place is so tranquil that you really feel you have been (URL HIDDEN) is so peaceful that you really don't want to leave though! I would definitely recommend a stay here, top marks to Amanda

Wow !! Wow !! Wow !! Ammer Brook was so perfect in every respect. It was an absolute privilege to be Amanda and Charles' first guests in their beatiful house. We went to sleep each night listening to the sound of the babbling brook flowing beneath our bedroom. The house is beautiful and the garden simply stunning. Special mention must be made of the decking adjacent to the stream, where we sat drinking chilled wine whilst watching the damsel flies skimming across the surface of the stream. We enjoyed our weekend stay here. Louise was quick to respond to our very last minute booking (the day before!) and she was flexible when we changed our minds about what day to arrive. The cottage was perfect for what we needed on our weekend get-away; quite, clean and comfortable with all the necessaries. We liked the little back garden and were lucky not to share it with anyone! Fab.

Lovely quaint holiday let. Pictures don't do it justice. Out in the sticks. Nice to have the making for a cuppa. We enjoyed the peace and quiet. We were lucky enough to know the area as I used to live in East sussex. Plenty of places to visit or just shut the door and switch off. Recommend you bring food supplies. Enjoy everyone we did

Very pretty place in a rural location. All the necessities have been thought of. Make sure you bring some supplies as shops are a long way away!!

We arrived here straight from work in London on a Friday evening. Make sure you take notice of Louise's directions or you will end up at the farm next door- our phones went haywire and couldn't cope, ha! The Byre is gorgeous and I have to say the photos do not do it justice, I was surprised at the size of it, and the other half did a happy jump when he saw the wood burner and all the beams. The place has everything you need, minus phone signal (which was a plus for us) but the wifi worked well so we were able to get work done and access Netflix via our laptop. Breakfast in the courtyard was lovely, it's gorgeous and smells wonderful. Louise had left a wealth of knowledge on the local area and we managed to do part of one of the walking routes in the area, arriving at a pub she had recommended, just before the rained. The evenings were perfect, hardly heard a single car, just nature noises, and on Sunday it poured down at one point and we rather enjoyed being inside. The wood burner heats the whole place beautifully. The Byre has a wonderful rustic charm and we were instantly relaxed. It's also a great base for walking, or visiting the local attractions. It's clear from reading other people's comments in the visitors book that Louise and co have taken feedback onboard and made some changes to improve the place, and it shows. We will be booking again!

Unfortunately the Air BnB listing doesn't convey the Majic of the Byre (or the two neighbouring barn conversions) nearly well enough. A ten minute drive away is a farm shop to die for. Public footpaths around the farm lead you to dreamy vistas populated with herds of deer grazing flower meadows nestled in shady woodland. Pubs are outstanding! And it's all so far away from the madness and crowds of the 20th century.

We had a fantastic weekend in Victoria's barn! The house is both cozy and spacious at the same time. We were two families (4 adults and 4 children) and felt very comfortable. The playroom was a great bonus! There is plenty to do in the area, including the lovely town of Battle just a few miles away. We loved staying in the barn and highly recommend it!

We had a lovely stay as part of a work-residential, but the location and space is perfect for families. There's space to run around, play games, have a BBQ, sit around the table and relax. It was really quiet, a fantastic space for us to think and spend quality time with each other. The grown ups made good use of the ping pong table in the games room! The finish is super high, with Victoria being nearby in case you run into any problems or have any questions! It's about 10 minutes drive from the shops and Bexhill, but there was some really helpful kitchen items already provided, so you can turn up with loads of stuff or nothing - and you can get stuff really easily. Hope you enjoy your stay there too!

We had a fantastic stay here for a family celebration! The house and gardens are beautiful, even better than the pictures :) Bedrooms all very comfortable and plenty of space for the whole family to spread out. Comfortable living space and fully equipped kitchen. Lovely, quiet area which is perfect if you need some R&R. We drove to Hastings for the day (about a 25min drive), had a relaxing BBQ one evening and had a great pub lunch at the Squirrel Inn just up the road in Battle. Would highly recommend! :)

What an amazing property. Absolutely loved it. Great decor, really comfortable bedrooms especially the two round Oast rooms. Great for a family gathering.

We had a lovely mini-break over Easter. The house was perfectly set up for our two families (4 adults and 6 children in total). It is very spacious and there was plenty of room so we weren't on top of each other. The owners were very welcoming and the house is decorated to a high standard. The garden is very pretty, with lovely daffodils and tulips in bloom. The garden is big enough for the children to play a game of football, and for an Easter egg hunt! The house is very close to Battle, with is well worth a visit. We also visited Bexhill and Bodiam Castle, both of which are within easy reach. The children have already decided that we are going back to the Oasthouse to stay again! Thank you.

We stayed at Ashbourne Oast with our family for our youngest daughters wedding. Excellent accommodation and very welcoming hosts. Would thoroughly recommend it.

The Oast house is a great place for a large family gathering and we were made very welcome. The house is very well appointed and warm and has everything you could want. The beds are very comfortable and it is beautifully furnished and very spacious. It is in the country and quiet but easily accessible to Battle. Michael was very quick to sort out a minor problem. I would definitely recommend a visit.

We had a really lovely weekend at the Oast House for a family birthday. The accommodation is very spacious and well equipped. The setting is lovely and there is lots to do in the area. Highly recommended!

The house is amazing. We were three families and there was plenty of space for all of us. The children loved it. Hide and seek was taken to a whole new level and lasted hours!! All the bedrooms were lovely but the two four poster bedrooms were extra special. There was no shortage of bathrooms either. Kitchen was well stocked and very clean. The outside area was very pretty so if the sun is shining it would be a lovely place to relax. We had a fabulous time at this property and would recommend to others.

My bridesmaids and their partners and I all stayed at Michael's Oast House on our wedding weekend. Prior to our stay Michael was very quick to respond to any of our queries and provided very useful information about the house such as answers to frequently asked questions. He was also incredibly flexible with check-in and check-out times which was very kind of him to suit our busy weekend. When we arrived at the Oast House it was much grander than we expected and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The Oast House is huge and so the 10 of us staying had enough space for ourselves without living in each others' pockets. We would all recommend Michael's place for any large groups wanting to stay somewhere special!

I absolutely love this house. You feel like you have stepped back in time but with all the modern amenities. Very quiet and easy to go visit Dover or take the train ride from the next village (Battle) to London. It's about an hour train ride and so much better then finding a parking spot in London. I would recommend this house to anybody visiting. Would love to visit again.

We had a nice week around Easter, everything was clean, calm, comfortable and uncomplicated. We could really reccomend this accomadation.

The Old Post Office is an extremely well appointed and attractive cottage that is beautifully decorated and with a welcoming atmosphere. Everything in the cottage was clean and of very good quality. Our children loved the upstairs bedroom that had it's own en-suite bathroom. Wendy had added extra details like placing a bottle of sparkling water in the bedrooms. She was a most generous and thoughtful host and is on site for any queries that may arise. We loved eating our meals looking out at the back courtyard and watching the birds on the bird feeder. Overall, we found this to be a first class, character cottage and would highly recommend it to anyone else visiting in the area. Thank you for a lovely visit.

This is a home that feels like home. There are excellent facilities for both children and adults. We were never bored. The kitchen is incredible and the garden needs to be seen. The view is stunning and we enjoyed dazzling sunsets while watching the rabbits peek out at dusk. The owners are lovely and everything was well organised :-)

This is easily one of the best air bnbs I have stayed in. The house is beautiful and situated in a truly gorgeous part of the countryside. What makes this house is the glamping area closeby. Although we didn't stay in the luxury yurts, we took fall use of the outdoor dining area, fire pit and gorgeous views. I would highly recommend this house for a large group booking incorporating the house and yurts. The house would also make a lovely get away in its own right. Full marks!!! We will be back next year

Immy was a great host, getting in touch with us in advance and there when we arrived. It's a lovely house, full of character and nice touches. Garden full of mature trees and really natural, including pond. A very rural spot, surrounded by fields. A bit of a drive to get anywhere but a great farm shop just up the road. Beds really are comfortable and lovely linen and towels. Kitchen well equipped and it did feel like home from home. Rustic features like in the sunny courtyard at the back are charming, with cheery geraniums, and there's a lovely spot to sit by the pond too. Smart modern bathrooms. Would have liked more comfortable seating outside, then I would have lazed for hours out there. Pool was a bonus and we had lovely weather. Lovely atmosphere in the house, felt at home.

The perfect home and location for our needs. plenty of room for our 4 kids and a great outdoor pool to cool off in when the sun was shining (which it did all week!). We had other family members staying nearby and this property provided excellent space for us to host a meal for everyone. Only 30min to Eastbourne, where we enjoyed the beach, Halfman!Halfburger! restaurant and Fusciardis Ice cream Parlour - all highly recommended! A brilliant family break for us. Thanks Immy!

We stayed over New Years in a big party of 8 adults and 4 babies. The house is really homely, cosy and inviting. Open fires and warm wool blankets to snuggle under after a long walk in the beautiful countryside surrounding the cottage. There's a nice pub in walking distance and shops in the village aren't far. Immy is a great host, super relaxed which makes you feel at home. My husband had fun keeping the fire and Rayburn range alight over night. I'd highly recommend a stay here.

A lovely spacious country house with a large garden and pretty patio area. The hosts were readily available when we had questions and made us feel very welcome. The house is situated on a quiet country road and the area is great for running, walking and dog walking. There are plenty of great country pubs within a short distance and Eastbourne, Pevensey and Hastings are all easy to get to. Don't miss the Hailsham Pavilion, an incredible restored Edwardian cinema which is a real experience.

A group of us decided to get away for the bank holiday weekend, and Immy was warm and friendly and very accommodating with our late booking and in answering all our questions and requests. The house is lovely and extremely comfortable, and manages to feel both homely and surprisingly spacious. The mature and large garden is beautiful, and we enjoyed eating outside on the patio and swimming in the pool all weekend. The on-site glamping is small and out of sight of the main house, so we barely noticed the campers. The location is a beautiful and quiet hamlet with a farm shop and great pub within walking distance, and within easy driving distance of the coast and several historic and tourist points of interest. We would definitely recommend it.

Very quaint cottage on the outskirts of the village. A group of four of us used it for a business retreat. Amazing views from the garden. Really enjoyed the fires. Immy was an excellent host at every step. Walkable to the local pub, where the staff were friendly and food was good.

We had a lovely time staying at Anna's place. It was spotless, really peaceful and so comfortable with a gorgeous view. Anna made us feel welcome and was helpful with all our enquiries. There are lots of interesting things to do in the local area if you have a car to go exploring, but it's also really nice just to chill in the house, cook lovely veggie meals, play some board games, do some yoga on the deck and generally kick back.

The cottage is close to places like Hastings, Brighton, Battle and Eastbourne yet situated in a nice little village in a one minute walking distance to an inn to grab a bite or a beer.

We stayed at Simon's cottage for one night on a short notice weekend break. The cottage is very comfortable with all mod cons and Simon and his wife were excellent hosts, recommending the best local pubs and eateries. We had an excellent day at the nearby science park and observatory (5 minutes drive), went to the beach (15 minutes drive) and even to nearby Hailsham leisure centre where there is a great pool and waterslide. The nursery half a mile from the cottage is lovely and has a brilliant cafe. All in all a great spot for a break in the countryside.

We loved the surroundings and the cottage was convenient, well equipped and had beautiful views from the top floor. The location is beautiful, very well located, we particularly recommend a visit to Bateman's, Robert Kipling's estate. The only minor drawback is the proximity of the road on one side of the house. Communication with Neil and Helen was excellent, we felt very welcome - not least because of the hamper with their own eggs and sausages they left us!

We enjoyed our stay at the old chapel. The house is pretty, well decorated, and conveniently located in order to explore both Kent and Sussex. Being on the road, it can be a bit noisy during the day, although we did not really mind it (it is just cars driving by, nothing more). In the evening it is perfectly quiet. Very nice view. Communication was excellent. They also very kindly provided us with a cot for our baby. Overall, it was a positive experience

The Old Chapel was perfect for a short break away with uninterrupted views of the Sussex landscape. There is a lot of outdoor space with the property which is great when the weather is good. Keen walkers will love the proximity to lots of trails and the famous 1066 route. Helen & Neil are fantastic hosts and every effort is made to welcome you with advice on the local area & activities.

The chapel has a stunning view from the living room and we enjoyed the spacious rooms that fit our family well. We definitely recommend having a vehicle to get around to the sights in the area. The pasture walks were nice and we loved the spacious kitchen. We definitely recommend this home to travelers in the east Sussex area!

LOVED our time at The Old Chapel - beautiful little cottage, in beautiful surroundings. The house had everything and more that we needed, especially enjoyed the living room area upstairs which led to a small balcony that we could watch the sunrise/sunset from. Only 40 minutes from Eastbourne, so got the opportunity to spend the day at the beach too. Helen met us on arrival and was so friendly and warm, it was great meeting her, she was a wonderful host and was so helpful! We hope to come again!

The Old Chapel is a gorgeous place to stay, cosy and comfortable with beautiful views. Big TV and selection of DVDs, games room with pool table and some interesting follies nearby! Neil and Helen were very hands-off but easily contactable hosts, and gave us a great farm tour and even gave us the chance to bottle feed a few of the lambs! A lovely and country-style cottage with 2 cozy bed rooms in the top floor (excellent beds btw), big living and dining room and a well equipped kitchen that allows for full cooking. We came with 2 kids and 2 parents and found much more of a cottage than we expected. The cottage is located between two villages with only a few hundred meters to the next pub/restaurant and in a very green area. The A271 brings you quite quickly to Hailsham for getting all your groceries and daily things. We found it a good place to start our daily sightseeing tours. We did not meet Dawn in person but he alway was instantly available for us and very hospitable and helpful. All was quite easy and pleasent. Thanks Dawn!

We had a really nice time staying at the cottage - it is very pleasant and cosy inside and we were kindly left a little welcome on arrival package which was a nice touch. The location is good but the only slight drawback is that the cottage is situated near to a road which occasionally means you get the sound of traffic. However this is only a minor point and did not impact our overall enjoyment. Communication and responsiveness from the host was also excellent. Would certainly stay again!

The house was very nice and clean but it was quite dark (could do with some more spotlights in certain areas). There was a lovely welcome package which was a nice touch. Beds were comfortable and all amenities were good. The only criticism I would have is that the road the cottage on is far from quiet and that's not really in the description. Would have been a perfect getaway weekend but the noise from the road spoiled it somewhat.

The cottage is just so charming and cosy! I went with my partner, my sister, and her partner for a little weekend getaway. Every effort was made to make us feel at home, and the cottage was in immaculate condition! It was just like in the pictures, and located in a beautiful area where it's secluded enough to get that countryside feel, but actually only minutes away from Herstmonceux Castle and the Observatory, as well as some lovely gastropubs. Definitely the kind of place where the weather doesn't matter, as there are plenty of places to go and spending the day inside the cottage is so relaxing! The area itself is stunning and full of idyllic landscape views! It was the perfect place to go for a nice break from the city! We had such a wonderful weekend, couldn't recommend more highly!

We had an amazingly wonderful weekend stay at Badger's Rest. Five stars! Fiona is lovely, and was incredibly welcoming. It's great to get local tips on the best places to visit in the area (we can attest to the fact that the Star Inn is a beautiful Sussex pub). The accommodation itself is fantastic!! It's beautifully done, and has everything you need for a break from the big city. It was a beautiful setting, surrounded by nature - and a few visits from the very friendly cat. Will most definitely stay here again: we didn't want to leave.

We had an amazing time here, made even better by the hospitality of Fiona and Jan. No corners were cut when decorating the superbly, comfy and cosy annexe. Set at the end of a lane among fields and open space, this is the ideal place to come to for walks and to get away from the rat race. We felt really rested and relaxed after our stay there. There is a lovely little local pub just 15 min walk along country lanes. I recommend a stay here to recharge your batteries.

Perfect host, lovely accommodation, and ideal location. Fiona made us feel very welcome. The accommodation is immaculate and ideal for a short stay. The annexe is in the grounds of Fiona's property. It's at the end of a quiet rural lane. A few yards away are several footpaths, one of which leads to a lovely fruit orchard.

I booked this for In-laws who need somewhere for a couple of days recently, they are used to staying in top end hotels/self catering and can be quite critical. They absolutely loved Badgers, great location if you want peace and quiet overlooked beautiful garden, lovely accommodation tastefully decorated with nice furnishings, spotless clean. Good communication from host Fiona, couldn't fault anything would definitely recommend.

Helena & Henry's bothy is a beautifully renovated outer building completely secluded in the sussex countryside. Henry showed us to the bothy from the road and made the fire for us ready to light later on. Inside the bothy felt like a theatre set, with an open brick fire, candles and french farm decoration it was so amazing and i can't wait to come back sometime !!!!! everything was great thank you very much to Helena and Henry xxxx

This is a beautiful, secluded retreat in the Sussex countryside. The main area (bedroom and living space) is in a French/bo ho style - very aesthetically pleasing. Shower/bathroom is lovely. Kitchen is basic in a cute way. This is very glamorous glamping! Loved it!!

I'm happy to say the Brightling Bothy is a perfect location for a lovely relaxing weekend break. The building itself (which is pretty, well maintained and sympathetically restored) is cool in the heat of the day, and warm and cosy in the evening with an excellently-drawing open fire. The shower is luxuriously powerful and hot, and the little kitchen area makes a bit of cooking an option after picnics during the day, for which there are plenty of idyllic spots. The location is beautiful with plenty in the area to see and do, and wildlife lovers will also have fun: we saw an owl and a falcon within half an hour of each other at midday! Helena and her husband were most welcoming, and I can offer no greater recommendation than to say that I hope to return for a longer holiday as soon as possible! Many thanks for a great weekend.

Fantastic and beautiful rural bothy. Our hosts were extremely accommodating, from offering fresh eggs for the morning to setting up our fireplace prior to the evening. Helena and her partner were very friendly and the location very serene. Will recommend to anyone looking to take a break from the rat race and those wanting the peace of the countryside.

A place off the beaten track, but never too far from public amenities and shops.....if you have a car. Plenty of local walks and friendly pubs. Some off road riding and lots of country road riding. A place to truly relax and forget about technology and modern trappings!! If you're into candle lit rooms and roaring fires it's the place for you!! Truly cosy building and comfy bed!! Very rustic but with everything you need to be comfortable. Some might find it chilly in Spring or Autumn. Definitely for the more adventurous and romantic couple!!! Try it....you might love it......just as we did.

Beautiful, relaxing space to escape to and gorgeous, green surroundings to explore. The fire and candles, indoor and out, make for a very romantic, rustic atmosphere. Helena is a warm and helpful host. Highly recommend
