Only feet away from the house there is a lovely eatery, with delicious food options. Less than a minute away there is a Guy Frenchy’s, as well as other little shops and restaurants scattered across the town!

  • A roomy carriage house on the main street in Berwick with everything you might need. Loved the ground coffee for a morning start. The meals at the owners restaurant a few steps away(Kellocks) were exceptional. Fresh food with a nice presentation and staff that were very busy but took time to be friendly. We hope to come back

I grew up in Berwick; a figure skater/tennis player and brothers were hockey/tennis/baseball players. Sports town! Walk to everything! Small town living at its best. Nova Scotia's Apple Capital! Unique shops, golf, mountain views from the Harvest Trail. It's all here. Nice restaurants and live entertainment. And, yes; a Tim Horton's and Subway in town. North Mountain Coffee. Ten minutes to The Bay of Fundy (by car).
My house is located in central Berwick; walking distance from shopping, a sports facility, with curling rink and professional league ice rinks. Our main park with new splash pad and washrooms/change rooms, tennis and basketball courts. Kings Transit every hour daytime/weekday pick up near my house. A golf course, groceries, restaurants, and a tourist information centre. It's within a five minute walk to the Apple Dome (Kings Mutual Sports Centre). Before your arrival, take time to look at the listing description, including picture descriptions, to ensure that you know what to expect. Small-med dogs are an extra $10 a night. This is a 1970s home situated on a quiet (other than school traffic), residential street. The kitchenette has oodles of cooking appliances, but bear in mind, this is a low power usage set up with one appliance used, while the microwave is plugged in. Everything in the suite should remain as you see it, and items in each of the rooms should stay within those rooms and be put back in place the way you came in. Unmade beds are the exception of course. The TV should never be altered with game devices or any other modification. A beautiful walking trail is a ten minute walk down the street with mountain views. Downtown Berwick offers lots of choice for shopping, with some wonderful restaurants within a ten minute walk. The Berwick Town Hall that was newly constructed a few years ago, looks fantastic and has a cozy library that is social central. In nice weather, you can go for a stroll on a bike provided by the Town of Berwick. Wheatton's Furniture on Commercial St, which includes a restaurant and gifts., close to Hwy 101. Feeds and Needs has a new location on Commercial, and a new candy shop recently opened near Milo's Pizza. Highly acclaimed Johnny's Cookhouse is also in Berwick, located on Hwy 1 if you want a really good burger or tasty ice cream. There is also live entertainment at the Union Street Cafe on weekends. And of course Bargain Harleys. You never know what you'll find! There are so many more stores, like Sandra's Country Treasures on Hwy 1, Hidden Valley Treasures Clothing, Hello Handmade is a gift shop on Union Street and Between The Mountains is another eclectic gift shop on Commercial St. A new Farmer's Market is open every Sat at the Berwick Legion. A designers' delight awaits you, directly across from the Rising Sun Health Food Store on Commercial, beside Pharmasave, offering bargains from Wayfair Outlet. Fabulous finds! For a small town, it's impressive that Berwick has a health food store, a Chiropractor(s), Naturopathic Doctor(s), and an Osteopath, and two dental offices and a health centre with lab. I can accommodate larger groups, albeit, the square footage is around 800 sq ft., so be prepared to be cozy. Great money saver for family get together s and sports groups, with room for up to 7 guests. For those coming from dryer climate, you may notice higher humidity, being close to the ocean. To keep humidity lower, the ac is set in summer at a comfortable temperature with the windows closed to keep out the high humidity. In colder weather, the furnace is on, with space heaters in each room to allow you to regulate heat to your liking, and a fireplace in the livingroom. Folding chairs, (two folding bar stools) are stored in the furnace room just off the living room.
Unique shops, a wonderful pizzeria called Milo's, Apple Valley Pies - Outlet Store. Kellocks offers a great social atmosphere with an extensive menu, with breakfast now available, and Union Street has a wonderful Brunch on weekends, and good food all week, live music, evening strolls. listen to music in the park in the Summer. Take a walk on the Harvest Trail. North Mountain Coffee Co has amazing coffee with a cozy atmosphere.

  • I definitely recommend staying at this lovely, clean, cozy country home!! The hosts Michelle and Al are great people and super easy to interact with! I stayed in suite #1 which is quite large with lots of windows and natural light. A comfortable bed and the soaker tub definitely added to the experience. Everything is well thought out and organized, with coffee, tea, toaster, mini-fridge and microwave for short or longer stay. All of this provided for a lovely 3-week personal retreat. Thank you, with lots of gratitude!

    MJ2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • It's a cozy spot, conveniently located near Berwick if you need to be there for a hockey tournament, for example. The soaker tub was a nice touch and the WIFI worked great. We liked the extra seating area in suite 1 and the free coffee and oatmeal for breakfast!

Private suite in a country home in Aylesford just 4 mins. from Exit 16 off HWY 101.
Private driveway, parking and entrance to the guest space. Plenty of property to walk and river frontage to enjoy and fish.
It is a quiet neighborhood. Enjoy a delicious home cooked meal at Farmers Family Diner less than 2 km down the road. After Easter weekend, take a trip to Oaklawn Farm Zoo 2.4 km away.
  • A wonderfully decorated private suite. It's sparkling clean. We were pleasantly surprised but the snacks and breakfast items to be found upon arrival. It was the middle of February and we had to turn down the heat, lol. It's easily found and near enough/far enough away to sights and activities to be happy. We will be staying again!

    Jerry2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay. Sparkling clean, great food and comfortable bed. Great hosts.

    Jackie2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Daniel and Trudy was like a home away from home. We stayed nine nights over Christmas and New Years and so much appreciated their hospitality and friendly reception into their home over the Holiday season. The accommodations were very comfortable and they graciously provided everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. We highly recommend these wonderful hosts and their accommodations

    John2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Daniel and his wife have a lovely cozy spot. They both welcomed us and were very kind. We only stayed a short time, arrived around 7:00pm and left at 10:30 am. But the quiet, comfy environment was exactly what we needed. We had been up since 5:00am for a long drive to visit family and the big chair was perfect. The breakfast items also doubled as a nice bed time snack...a toasted begal with home made strawberry jam!! Our hosts heard us heading out and were quick to stick their heads out for a warm goodbye! I would highly recommend this little suite for a weary traveller or a nice quiet vaca for two!

    Rita2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Danial and Trudy are marvelous hosts , they put a little extra of everything into make our stay a memorable one. The accommodations are great, spotless, roomy, and stocked with everything you might need . We would definitely stay there again.

  • Very very nice stay. Trudy and Dan put SO much thought and care into every little thing it made for a really comfortable 2-day stay. Lots of character, everything you need, I will come again in the summer !

    Rick2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Trudy and Daniel's place was a great little stopover between towns. It was very clean and served our purpose. Trudy had the fridge well stocked with a variety of items. It was a very nice touch after a day of traveling and sight seeing. Both Daniel and Trudy were very hospitable!

    Sandi2019-09-24T00:00:00Z

Cottage with Harbour and Beach right in front of the door. Wood stove, full kitchen, wifi, living room, 4pc bath. Ideal for relaxing like in the good old days. Lobster can be bought right from the fishermen from May 16-July31. Enjoy the outside deck with a glass of wine or your morning coffee, breathing in the fresh salt air. This one bedroom cottage is ideal for a small family, or two people who need two beds. Parking is right in front of the deck. Propane barbecue and adirondack chairs.
The space is unique because you can see the highest tide in the world right outside your window. The cottage is located in the heart of a little fishing village, it has the wharf and the beach right across the street. You can access the beach and make bond fires, grill your own sausages right on the beach. If you want to stay home you can light the wood stove with glass door to cozy up to the fire, read a book or watch a movie. Bring your laptop if you wish to watch netflix on it.
This is a very unique neighborhood with cottage owners living during the summer in their cottages, fishermen going out for lobster during the summer, the highest tide in the world going up and down the harbour every 12h, the beach with its amazing rocks so many people collect and take home, waterfalls coming down from cliffs and caves created by the force of the water. You have neighbours who like to socialize and invite people over to their deck. Just a heads up on that one. Also, July 1st, Canada Day, as well as the end of lobster season (July 31) people like to celebrate at the beach and have fireworks.
  • The cottage was very nice and quaint and right across the street from the bay of fundy. If your looking for some down time and relaxation this is the place for you!

    Jennifer2019-08-13T00:00:00Z

  • We traveled from UK. Arrived quite late in evening. were somewhat stressed when we go there. it was dark. House was great. clean, welcoming, with all the essentials. In the morning as the sun rose - we breathed again in the quiet and beauty of the location. We stayed a week and loved it. we were fortunate to get brilliant weather - only downside I did not get to light the wood burner. Hope we can come back. Elke was a great host.

    Stuart2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • A quaint fishing settlement where everyone has a wave, a hello, or a story for you. An excellent spot to unwind and relax.

    Rick2017-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time here. I spent my first morning on the front steps drinking coffee and enjoying the croissant Elke had left for me, watching the sun burn off the fog along the water, and was greeted by Elke, and her adorable dog. I'm from a big city, and was really looking forward to some relaxing time away from it- I knew then that the cottage was going to be a perfect fit. It was well equipped with everything that I needed, and nothing that I didn't. Thanks so much!

  • Any of the rooms offered are great! We were in number 2 and it was a very comfortable and cozy time. Everything you might need is provided and the hostess is willing to provide you with anything that she might have missed. I’m an unforgiving critic but this place is 10/10. Probably an even better summer stay as you could explore the woods out back. Highly recommend this stay as it is affordable but meets the expectations of a much more expensive place!

  • Exceptional place and host! I stayed at Michelle’s Airbnb for one night and loved my stay. Everything was super clean and decorated nicely! Micheline is a very nice and responsive person. She made absolutely sure that everything would be perfect for me during my stay. Highly recommend :)

  • Beautiful cottage, very cozy and has an " off the grind" feel to it. It was super peaceful, it snowed and look absolutely stunning in the morning. The wood stove made the cottage smell wonderful, we quickly felt at home. We would love to come stay again!

  • The perfect winter getaway! Nancy and Wanda’s place is perfect for a relaxing, cozy weekend, surrounded by beautiful nature. Cannot wait to come back!

    Daphne2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Nancy and Wanda's was wonderful. The location is quiet, peaceful and private. Everything you need to cook a meal (and more! Ciders in the fridge) is there waiting for you. They had lit a fire for our arrival, and showed us the personal trails around the lake. A perfect weekend getaway!

    Sascha2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy and Wanda’s place was absolutely incredible, even more beautiful in person. We went up with a couple of friends for my girlfriend’s birthday and Wanda went as far as to set up a birthday balloon and leave a pack of delicious ciders in the fridge for us! The wood stove was so cozy and we enjoyed drinks and board games around the table. We brought our snowshoes and walked the trails, every corner looked like something from a Christmas card. The Airbnb was extremely clean and they made us feel so welcome. We couldn’t recommend this place enough for a weekend getaway. We will definitely be back!

The cottage is built right on the beach with a view to the other side of the Bay of Fundy. It has a living/dining room, full kitchen, is nicely decorated with a wrap around couch. 2 bedrooms are up-stairs in 2 separate rooms. Dining on the outside deck and using the fire pit to grill sausages is a true Nova Scotia experience. Lobster just a stone throw away! Big lobster pot and utensils in cottage. Charcoal barbecue and propane barbecue.
If you like lobster, then this is the place for you! Pick out your own lobster fresh from a lobster tank. Lobster season is from May 15- July 31.
Beach Cottage is unique since it is located in one of the few working fishing harbours left in Nova Scotia. You can buy lobster right off the fishermen when they come into the harbour. The cottage has very lovely neighbours who spend all their time at the cottage in the summer.
  • Great location if you like out of the way, small village life. Bring food.

    William2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was right on the ocean as described and the beach was truly beautiful. I liked the patio and the lights. Everything else was as described. It is comfortable, well outfitted with the basics, and clean. The beds were comfortable, towels plush and everything worked. It felt very much like a old, but well cared for cottage. We really loved it.

    Bridget2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • A great place, picturesque, quiet ... house with very large living room and a terrace directly on the beach ... a place to sit and enjoy the time ... heart stroke!

  • If you're looking for a cozy beach cottage with an amazing view; this is definitely the place for you!!! We absolutely loved it and couldn't have asked for more. If ever in Harbourville again, I will definitely be booking the beach cottage and wouldn't look for anything else.

    Denise2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Rustic, charming and authentic cottage with unbeatable views and access to Bay of Fundy and all the area has to offer - from wineries to farm stands and beautiful hikes.

    Katie2018-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was clean and equipped with amenities for cooking and relaxing. Rocky beach right outside the door with great views and sounds of water, rides, and sunsets. Best of both worlds for those looking for privacy & quietness along with access to day trips. We stayed in and cooked and relaxed in the space and also spent time exploring areas around harbourville with an easy drive to and from. Many vineyards, beaches, hiking opportunities within driving distance.

    Christine2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Elke for hosting us in Harbourville! It was exactly the vacation that we needed. The cottage was perfect for a relaxing week where the tide clock was our only measure of time. The neighbours were friendly and helpful, breakfasts at your restaurant were delicious and the ocean view was magical. The cottage itself was well equipped and comfortable with everything you could possibly need (including a nice surprise treat from your restaurant when we arrived.) It was a pleasure to meet you and thank you again for sharing your wonderful village with us. For guests looking to go into town for some local music and food - We had a great time at the Union Street Cafe in Berwick where we saw east coast musicians, Matthew Hornell & Andrew Sneddon - excellent venue! Overall, it was a fantastic week - We will return!

Harbour House is a cozy story and a half cottage located on the Bay Of Fundy in the village of Harbourville NS. Amazing sunsets, quiet beach, fresh cool sea air. Watch the highest tides in the world from the front deck. The local fishing boats bob on the water at high tide and rest 30 feet down on the rocky floor of the harbour at low tide. The nearby Annapolis Valley offers many attractions: fine dining, live theatre, a local zoo, hiking trails, a golf course. Ask about longer stays.
Let the winding road lead you slowly down to the tiny harbour where colourful fishing boats bob in the water. • What wonderful hosts! Our stay was better than we imagined. Mary and John were accommodating and thoughtful hosts that had no problem answering any question we may have had. The space was perfect for a weekend away, we loved being right by the ocean and all the small thoughtful touches such as the homemade jam and bread made us feel very comfortable and welcome! The house is perfectly cozy, full of games and movies and beautiful views right from the house to enjoy with a cup of coffee. We visited in the winter so the wood stove and fire was perfect for keeping us warm as well as adding to the magic of the entire place.

  • Great place!

    Charles-Eric2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • A great airbnb, arrived with the woodstove going and Christmas music playing. Tea, Sugar, Coffee, Cream, Milk, bread, butter, jam and eggs were awaiting our arrival. Purchased some lobster at the local fish market and Marys place had all the dishes, utensils, bowls that we could need for our 10 days stay. Games, puzzles and a huge selection of movies. Really enjoyed it.

  • This harbour house is a must experience for anyone looking to experience the east coast, or have a weekend away in a little paradise. John and Mary have created a beautiful space, and considered every need of their guests. The harbour house includes absolutely everything you could want, sparkling clean, board games, movies, books, tea, farm fresh eggs, home made jam...John and Mary are attentive to your every need. The ambiance is absolutely charming. This is the experience one hopes for. Thank you John and Mary for offering such a wonderful experience. Hope to be back soon.

  • Such a great weekend getaway. Mary and John were amazing hosts, leaving fresh milk, eggs, butter, bread and jam for breakfast. The cottage brought back many nostalgic feelings from my childhood, smells, decor, even the many books and games there. I will definitely be returning to Harbour House.

Nestled between Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley and the Bay of Fundy the cottage shares our 25 acres of forest and field bordered by a mountain brook. Our gravel road is great for walking or mountain biking and we are only 2 km from the beautiful rugged Bay of Fundy. A cot and a folding crib are available for kids. We are comfortable and cozy, not fancy.
Woodlawn Hollow's walls are made of pine boards milled from trees here on the property. The kitchen has everything you might need for cooking and we have some DVDs, books and games for those lazy days and evenings. There is a private yard to the back of the cottage with a simple clothesline and adirondack chairs. Fires are permitted most of the year except during the driest months. At night during the summer you will hear owls and crickets and the night sky is bright and clear. In the winter the owls will still serenade you on occasion but the crickets will be in deep sleep. We are fairly far away from light pollution. One of our guests saw the milky way for the first time while staying here and fell in love with the night sky. She even brings a telescope when she comes now.
Our rural community is very friendly. Houses are spaced widely. There are a few trails and the gravel roads are easily walked. The Bay of Fundy is only 2 km from the cottage. The beaches are rugged and beautiful and enjoy the world's highest tides! The closest village is the little fishing village of Harbourville. https://vimeo.com/71192268 Berwick has a fabulous live music venue "Union Street Cafe " www.unionstreetcafe.ca and several restaurants. There is also a health food shop and and liquor store.
  • A beautiful and quiet place with all the privacy you would want. Clean and with all the necessary amenities. Very friendly hosts and respectful of your space.

  • Great local tips with lots of thoughtful touches throughout the cottage to make it our cozy little home for a few days. Great way to escape the busy city life and experience the laid back life of the country side in Nova Scotia!

    Angela2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • A very cute cottage so close to the bay of fundy with so many beautiful touches. It was a wonderful getaway from the city. Kate and Brian were so helpful and welcoming to myself and my son Hunter. They made sure we both were comfortable. I am looking forward to another visit, with hopefully no rain so i can enjoy all the trails they have on their property. I wish my stay was longer!

    Stephanie2019-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kate's place surpassed our expectations! The photos really don't do the place justice. The cottage is so cute and the property is a beautiful place to explore. We really enjoyed the walking trails, one right to the ocean, and poking around the area and neighbouring towns. Kate and Brian are warm and friendly people. Would definitely stay here again!

    Morgan2018-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kate's place was great - it's a super cosy cottage that's perfect for a getaway from the city. The 30-ish minute walk to the water is absolutely lovely with several (creative!) bridges along the way. The cottage was clean and had lots of cooking utensils and appliances so we were able to make our own meals without any trouble at all. The fridge is now a mini-fridge (Kate let us know in advance that it was different from the pictures) but this worked just fine for us for a weekend. I'd definitely recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing trip!

    Lauralee2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had an extremely welcoming and comfortable stay at Woodlawn Hollow cottage; Kate & Brian were the perfect hosts. The cottage execeeded all our expectations, set in an idyllic position and within a short walk to the sea. A real hidden gem of a place, I just wish we had stayed longer!

    Kevin2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! So clean and comfortable! Wish we would of had more time to enjoy the cottage! Would highly recommend!!!

    Amy2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures don't do this place justice. Much larger and cozier than we thought. Brian (kates husband) welcomed us and made us feel very at home. he had breakfast in the fridge for us, fresh ground coffee and lots of tips on things to check out in the area, as well as a large shelf full of books, flyers and maps of things to do locally. The cottage is filled with lots of antiques (i believe brian called it "old stuff", but it was very pretty and interesting "old stuff") He led us to the local farmers market in the morning, which is small but wonderful. Great coffee, amazing pastries, fresh fish and veggies and local artist jewelry and artwork for sale. the local beach front is beautiful, we didnt get a chance to take the walk to the shore, but the drive to the farmers market was beautiful and i will definitely go back to explore this ocean front. Totally worth the cost. Thanks guys!

Cottage has open fireplace, wooden floors, sunroom with a lazyboy pull out, own free wifi, deck and is located right on the Beach and Harbour. The waves hit the rocks only 10 meters from the cottage: you cannot get any closer to the ocean than this! Due to proximity to the ocean the taps dispense salt water. We provide water coolers and as much fresh drinking water as you need. Price includes tax.
The cottage is unique, because it is right on the beach and the harbour! You have the highest tide in the world right in front of your window, and two sun decks to bask in the sun, including deck furniture. The harbour is also one of the few active fishing harbours in Nova Scotia, catching lobster from May 15 - July 31. You can buy lobster fresh from the tank right up Hamilton Road from local fishermen. We also provide you with your own barbecue, and propane. We provide wood for the fireplace. Please burn beach wood on the beach for bond fires.
Berwick is the next town, 10min away for shopping groceries, liquor, gas.
  • A very quiet getaway overlooking the bay , we sat on the deck and watched the tides come in, beautiful and very peaceful. We walked the shore at low tide , especially lovely at sunset. The house was perfect, everything we needed for our stay. Elke is a great host, quick to communicate to my questions. Would recommend and will stay again.

  • Amazing location. Loved the place.

    Kathy2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning views. A very unique spot. The home has a lot of charm. Loved watching the tides and exploring the harbor when the tide was out. The hammock was a wonderful place to relax.

  • Location, location, location! We had such an amazing stay at Ilkas cottage. Picturesque view of the of the Fundy tides coming in and out right from the large sunroom. The cottage was charming and cozy. Especially enjoyed the fireplace. We drove up to celebrate my 40th birthday and with our surprise, was even greeted with a homemade Swiss lemon cake with birthday candles which was such a sweet gesture. Enjoyed walking on the beach collecting special rocks and driftwood. Going to the local fish market for fresh scallops and haddock and picking pink and purple lumping which decorated the quaint little harbour. Also met some new local, friendly friends. And to my surprise, my boyfriend of 10 years asked me to join him down the beach to which he purposed! So, love is in the area when you are enjoying the little slice of heaven. We are so excited to book our next getaway back to Ilkas cottage and are even considering on having our wedding there next year. THANK YOU for the most amazing stay and unforgettable memories ❤️

    Laura2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • There is absolutely NO better location than this cottage. It is literally steps away from the water in the most quaint little area imaginable. We were able to watch the tide come in and out every day. We even went next door to the fish market next door and made ourselves some local lobster. Truly a one of a kind experience!

    Stacy2018-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • A charming cottage right on the ocean where you can spend hours watching the tides, beach combing, and just relaxing. Elke was incredibly friendly and very kind and quick in all communications. We even had a neighbourhood seal that visited us everyday. The kids loved it.

    Elizabeth2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Location, location, location. You can't beat being steps away from the ocean and dramatics tides of the Bay of Fundi. There were fantastic ocean view from every window. The kids loved that we were a short stroll to the swing set by the restaurant, and could pick sea shells and rocks during the incredible low tide. The cottage was cozy and charming. Elke and Maria were the most friendly hosts, welcoming us and making us feel at home. Thank you so much, can't wait to come back!!!

  • Elke was a wonderful and sweet host. She was very welcoming and helpful. The cottage was lovely with tons of character. Kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms were all clean and well stocked. Lots of comforters and pillows. The wood burning fireplace was awesome! It was situated right by the ocean and rock beach with spectacular views of the sunset and high tides. The outdoor firepit was great as well. The location was very quiet and was an ideal getaway location. We had an amazing time!!

  • Thia is a great spot to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Bay of Fundy. Isle Haute is clearly visible from the cottage. The beach access is great and the surf in the winter is rough and fun to watch. The cottage is well-equipped and spotless. Sadie is a good communicator and an excellent and responsive host. Great lobster and seafood is close by at the Harbourville fish market. Highly recommend this lovely spot.

  • Although the roads are quite bad getting to the cottage, the property is absolutely beautiful. Sadie was more than accommodating and very quick to respond with any questions!

    Kara2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The ocean is right there! Water was closer than expected. In my head I was like, "You prob have to walk a ways." Nope! You can see it from every room (except bathrooms). Gentle wave sounds and lovely ocean scents. Peaceful. Peaceful. Peaceful. Every room (EVERY!!) has its own temperature control. Can't believe how excited I am about this. Brought our two dogs. They had a blast. Nobody else on the beach so they got to run amuck. Heck, no boats either. Ever. Canadian military jets flew low along the shore and back one day. Really cool! And SO quiet. If you can, definitely walk to the cliff face! (At the purple chairs, face the ocean and look right. OMG look at that!) It's off of what are, in my experience, dirt roads that are very well maintained (town seems to regularly grade 'em) and we were fine with a regular car. There will be stones hitting your paint job tho. Sadie was super quick to respond to questions. Super helpful with local recommends. All-around superb. This was our first AirBNB experience. We hit the jackpot.

    Paula2019-09-26T00:00:00Z

  • Great location! We went for a family fall weekend in the Valley and it was very central to most activities we did! About 15 minutes from Noggins farm corn maze and maybe 10 minutes to new minus! Even though it was so close to everything we were still far enough out of the way to live the cottage lake life! Beautiful location!! Shannon was a great host, check in was super easy with a key pad door for self check in, beds were super comfy, lots of clean towels, face cloths etc. Everything was very clean. The cottage has a few quirky bits but was very cozy- just what we wanted! We have an 8 month old baby that we brought with us and her play pen fit perfectly in the master bedroom. I don’t think I would bring a young toddler to the cottage as there are a few stairs and rises to the bedrooms that little ones could easily fall off of as there isn’t a railing. I would also be cautious around the wood stove if you are planning to stay when you need to have heat as the wood stove is in the main living area and the only heat source. Overall a great place to stay though- perfect for a family with older kids or a bunch of adults looking for a great weekend away! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, thanks again Shannon!

  • We really enjoyed our time at the cottage. Shannon is so thoughtful and did an amazing job of making us feel welcomed! Great location on a quiet lake with still so much for us to do! We love the wealth of information about the area and the sites that we found in the loft, as well as the local recommendations Janice made. As a very first air b n b stay for one of us, it sets the bar really high! We loved our stay at Janice’s loft and hope to be back again soon.

  • We had a perfect stay at the Loft celebrating our 1 year anniversary. It was very clean, had a well equipped kitchen and the view was amazing. Janice was a very thoughtful host leaving many local tips and delicious breakfast food for our 2 mornings. We visited the sat am Harbourville market which was very quaint and lovely. We also went for a walk down to Bear brook as suggested by Janice which led to a beautiful peaceful rocky beach walk. Check in and check out was seamlessly smooth. Communication was easy. Overall would give 6 stars if I could! Thanks again!!!

Her beautiful home, which is located in a quiet Nova Scotia town near the Bay of Fundy, had comfortable and spacious living spaces. It was an ideal hub for touring the lower peninsula. We highly recommend a stay with Wanda.

You’ll love my place because of ..... Small quiet lake Spectacular sunrises Refreshing morning swims Relaxed, Romantic Ambiance. My place is close to .. Lake George Provincial Beach Aylesford Zoo Fox Mountain Camping Valley Wineries 9 Golf Coarses Greenwood Military Museum Fundy High Tides
Located on the South Mountain Plateau of the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia, we have approximately 125 cottages around Lake George. Most of the properties are summer cottages and an increasing number are occupied by year round residents who enjoy the beauty of Lake George throughout the seasons.
  • Absolutely stunning location, right by the lake, the cottage and the views from the cottage are wonderful. The cottage it’s self is very clean and is very well equipped. Lots of towels, cutlery, cooking utensils. There are loads of videos (blast from the past), boards games, children’s books and toys. Loads of Lego that kept our 4 year old busy. Outside the cottage you are surround by forest, with the deal overlooking the lake. There is more than enough seating. It has a large gas BBQ, canoe, kayaks and a peddle boat for the lake. There is loads for kids with a large outside children’s play centre. And a load of outdoor games in the shed. You can spend the day canoeing and kayaking on the lake it’s beautiful and not too busy. They had evening provided life vests including some for children. At night you can BBQ and have a campfire going in the fire-pit, with a few beers under the stars. We (couple with a 4 year old) had a wonderful time. Close by Oakland farm Zoo is also worth a visit. Fully Recommended if you interested in stopping the the area.

  • Jim and Janelle were Very welcoming and the cottage is extremely cute. Amazing sun rises over the lake

    Ruadhan2018-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Thanksgiving was a great time to visit this beautiful lake. The cottage is cozy and perfectly equipped. Great hosts that made us feel welcome right away.

    Philip2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived at the Round Cottage in the rain - thankfully the hosts had built up a fire and the cottage was wonderfully toasty. Both Jim and Janelle greeted us warmly. The cottage (and bunkie) is more spacious than it looks in the photos - we had four adults and one 4yo and had lots of space. My son was delighted with all the family-friendly touches (he found LEGO) and had a great ride on the paddle boat. We would definitely recommend the Round Cottage.

    Heather2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Round Cottage was more than we expected. On arrival we were met by our host Jim who assisted us getting up the laneway in our motorhome in the dark with his flashlight. Jim even pruned some branches to make to easier for use to get up and down the laneway in our Class A motorhome. On arrival at the Round Cottage Jim already had a fire going in the woodstove for us, which was much appreciated as it took the chill off on a cool fall evening. We were supplied with plenty of firewood to keep the fire going for almost our entire visit when needed. The Cottage is a round shape structure with two bedrooms, one bathroom and an open concept kitchen, dining and living area with a woodstove located in the centre to keep everything warm and cozy. The property is located in a wonderful spot right on Lake George and has a wrap around deck to sit and enjoy a gorgeous view of the lake. The Cottage has everything one would need to enjoy their visit. To the wall decorations inside, to the children's play set outside, every attention to detail has been well planned and carefully considered to make it a pleasurable and worry free visit for couples or families. Our host Jim and Janelle were wonderfull hosts that are available to assist with anything to make one's stay at the Round Cottage a memorable experience. They also know the area very well so if you need any advice on where to go for anything they're more than happy to help.

  • We had an awesome time at the Round Cottage! Great place to get away from the city for a weekend, fantastic weather and a surprising lack of bugs, too. The water was great to swim in, and we were sure to hangout by the firepit every evening to relax. Highly recommend!

Our 120 year old home has a rich history and comfortable roomy spaces. Berwick is in the heart of the valley - not far to the beauty of the Fundy Shore, Annapolis Royal, Wolfville... If you want to stay in Berwick, we have lots to offer - Apple Blossom Festival, Gala Days, etc. We’re happy to host, & offer morning coffee to guests. We’re happy to accommodate you any way we can. We are largely accessible, but we have only one downstairs bed for guests in wheelchairs. We do have a lift.
We have two great rooms upstairs, one of which has an adjoining room that you can use as a tv room, or that can be converted to a double bed using the pullout. As for accessibility for those guests with disabilities: we have a sturdy, wide, ramp to get to the back door. Our downstairs is fully accessible. It isn’t palatial, but we have a single pullout couch in the room adjoining our very large bathroom with accessible roll in shower (no grab bars). We do have a portable lift that you can use, but you need to bring your own sling. Please contact us if you need more info or if there’s something we can do to help make your stay comfortable and problem-free.
Berwick has a terrific walkability score - with the Trans Canada trail running through town. We have a number of great restaurants, parks, and town events. North Mountain Coffee cafe is a 4 minute walk from our house; you can’t beat free trade coffee and a terrific atmosphere. There are a number of great stores selling local crafts and products, and one of the best Frenchies’ in the valley. We are within walking distance of Eden Valley poultry if you’re here on business, and you can drive to Michelin in minutes. We are 15 minutes equidistant from Kentville and CFB Greenwood , and a quick 1 hour from Halifax airport.

The Alexander McConnell House/Old Ogilvie Farmstead, christened HIGH NOTE by the current owner, is a stunning four-bedroom 1825 Nova Scotia country house with a panoramic North Mountain view of the Bay of Fundy. The combined House & Garden, a most private & peaceful oasis -- "Like stepping out of time", as one guest put it -- is elegantly furnished with antiques, fine art, and luxurious carpets, all within access of the Annapolis Valley and the heart of NS wine country!
HIGH NOTE, with its 200 year-old hand-hewn beams and exquisitely appointed rooms -- elegant but rustic, with just a hint of the "shabby chic" -- is truly a refuge from the stresses of 21st Century living.
Ideally located within a 15 minute drive to the heart of the Annapolis Valley and its many, many attractions, the immediate neighbourhood surrounding High Note includes the charming village of Harbourville, a hub of seasonal activity including the weekly Organic Farmers Market and the lively "coffee klatch" at the Community Centre, as well as opportunities for boating, fishing, and whale watching on the Bay of Fundy.

Set beside the Bay of Fundy, this cottage built in the 1920's well maintains it's rustic charm. Fully immersed in the sights and sounds of the Bay, you'll find the simple pleasures of an ocean front getaway, within driving distance to the Annapolis Valley.
Small cottage with second level. Open main level with kitchenette, living room, dining area and bathroom with shower. Kitchenette includes sink, fridge, hotplates, microwave, pots and pans, utensils, and dinnerware. Second level features open sleeping area including two double beds, single bed, two bureaus and hangers. A TV and DVD player are featured on second level. Open front deck overlooking the Bay. Small yard with picnic table and parking. One minute walk to beach. Ten minute drive to the beautiful Annapolis Valley.
A quiet stretch of coastline featuring long, rocky beaches, open to the public, great for beach fires and relaxing. Water stays quite chilly during the summer. Also close by are a number of summer and year round houses, but plenty of space and privacy. Very peaceful, small amount of traffic.
  • This was SUCH a cozy stay! It has the most beautiful view from the front windows facing the Bay of Fundy! Just a two second walk down the road is a staircase down to the water so you can walk around when the tide is out, or catch the sun setting from the little look off! You can hear and watch the waves from the front deck! Everything was even more lovely than we expected and our host was so generous and helpful, and very quick to reply when we had any questions or concerns! Highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for something cozy and close to the water! We would 100% go back again!

  • This place is very charming, it's simple and rustic indeed but also calm, comfortable, respected and clean. The beds offer a good nights sleep and the upper level stays cosy warm throughout the night. Nothing is at all super flashy inside but that's what ads to it's charm. Outside, the front porch is a great spot to relax with a wonderful view of the ocean (also view able from the inside.) The weather was great, the sunsets are enough to make you tear up. The beach has some of the most interesting finds in the province. We also really enjoyed exploring with the bird book and the flower book. Late night we watched movies upstairs and woke up to the sounds and smells of the ocean in the morning, the sea air over there is something to experience, very clean and fresh. It's hard to put into words the joy of a time we had while we were there, we were quite sad to leave actually. Hopefully it remains available for the coming years as we pan on returning if so. The owner is also very accommodating and polite. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

  • We pulled up and immediately recognized this cottage from the photos. The location is amazing with nightly sunsets viewable from the front porch or a lookout only a 60 second walk away. From the photos you might notice the road close to the cottage but only a few cars drove past each day and it’s definitely not a hindrance to staying here. It’s quite deceiving as the cottage is placed perfectly. The owner lives behind at the top of the hill full of rustic greenery and is very discreet so you really feel like you are all alone. The cottage itself was very cozy and the bed was soft and excellent to sleep on. The washroom was a tight squeeze but we made it work. You can walk down to the beach with access with a 3 minute walk on a staircase down to the rocks below on low tide. The Harbourville fish market is a 5 minute drive down the road but you should call and order before going. We paid 8.00 a lb for lobsters, unheard of from where we come from! Berwick is a small town only 15 minutes away that has everything you need including Guys Frenchys for the bargain hunter. The locals that walked by always waved and spoke to us and showed us that famous maritime friendliness everyone talks about. We would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting the maritime waterfront experience.

  • a beautiful little rustic cottage on the Bay of Fundy that will allow you to enjoy the attractions of the Annapolis Valley

  • We loved sitting on the porch, overlooking the bay & being greeted by the neighbours walking by.

    Andrea2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Alex is amazing, and the cottage is so cute. The most amazing view of the Bay of Fundy, the beds are soooo comfy. Access to the beach is right across the street. Make sure to stop by church down the street, they have a vendors market every Saturday and music and other great things going on through the week. If you want to collect seashells, wait till low tide and checkout the beach at the harbour. A big thanks to Alex for an amazing experience, and first visit to Nova Scotia!

  • This cottage on the ocean is a little slice of paradise. Great location, off the beaten track but within an hour drive of all the pleasures of the Annapolis valley. The sunsets were incredible and the beach is large quiet and spectacular. Hopefully able to stay here again sometime.

  • Great location. The house itself is definitely - rustic (bugs, etc.) but this, of course, reflected in the price. The beds were comfortable, and was close to a beautiful beach and friendly neighbors. Close to Berwick, which we visited often (be sure to check out the used book store!)

Lovely cottage 50 feet from the beach, with wooden floors, covered deck, full kitchen and 4 pc bath. Beach is right across the street, as well as lobster fishing boats and the local fish market selling fresh seafood. Cottage is ideal for relaxing, beach combing, reading and lobster cooking. Parking right in front of your door. You have wifi and a cozy wood stove. You also have your own propane barbecue on your covered deck. We provide the propane and the wood.
The cottage has all wooden floors and a covered deck should it be a warm rainy summer day and you want to sit outside. Deck is equipped with picnic table. The Bedroom has a queen bed with a single bed adjacent to it (in a separate bedroom with barn door). The lazy boy pull out couch is a nice option for more people wanting to come (therefore cottage can sleep 5 people in total). The neighbour next door spends all his summers at his cottage and likes to meet new people, so you would probably get invited over onto their deck. So just a heads up.
The neighborhood is very unique. There is a fish market (selling lobster and scallops) on the wharf. The beach right across the street, the harbour with the fishing boats outside your door. The neighbour to your left loves to socialize, the cottage to your right is rented by us as well.
  • A wonderful cottage with charm and local hospitality. This sweet cottage is an integral part of a whole NS experience in staying near the Bay of Fundy. I'd highly recommend and stay again.

  • I love Elke's cottages. Elke's cottages feel like home away from home. The location is perfect if you are visiting the beautiful Annapolis Valley. I love the laid back atmosphere of Harbourville. The sunsets and sunrises are spectacular.

  • Elke emailed us before we arrived to ensure she would be there upon our arrival to greet us. She showed us around a bit and answered any questions we had. Elke is a very warm, kind and caring host.

  • Elke was so helpful and accommodating. Her cabin is very lovely - its the kind of place you want to move into and never leave! The neighbours were friendly and welcoming, and chatted with us while we sat outside on the deck. There is a cute little farmers market just up the hill and the nearby church every Saturday. The hemp squares were amazing! This was my favourite stop during my entire trip to Nova Scotia!

  • I traveled to Nova Scotia for a family funeral. Before I even arrived, I was in constant communication with Rose regarding my stay. I chose Rose and Michael's location based on the positive reviews patrons posted regarding their stay. Once I arrived at their place, I was greeted by both of them. Their smiles were genuine and they were extremely welcoming. The positive impact was immediate. considering the reason I was down there. Both of them went above and beyond to make sure my stay was a comfortable one. Constantly checking in with me and advising to reach out anytime if I ever needed anything. The accommodations were exactly what I needed. Warm, open, clean and private. I couldn’t ask for more hospitable hosts. I can't wait to bring my family down to experience exactly what I did. Thank you Rose and Michael for making a difficult situation more comfortable. Yours truly, Dale Swift

  • Rose and Michael's Airbnb was excellent. It was an amazing experience. The Accommodations were immaculate. Rose provided more than what was expected. Complimentary drinks, muffins and even spoiled us with fresh fruits. Rose's attention to detail and friendly manor made us feel so welcome and comfortable. Rose and Michael's leisurely mannor allowed us the luxury of soaking up the sun in there beautiful surroundings until we were ready to depart. When we didn't think it could get any better we were sent off with a friendly hug. Thank you Rose and Michael, we will be back! :)

  • Rose and Michael are fabulous hosts with a beautiful home. Rose was quick to respond and flexible to our requests. They both welcomed us warmly and showed us around their beautiful and spacious basement upon our arrival. We had all we could ask for a comfortable stay. She was so kind and thoughtful to leave us delicious home made cookies which were so delicious with coffee in the morning to get us started for the day. Thanks again Rose and Michael!

My place is close to The Bay of Fundy! You’ll love my place because of It's CHARACTER. The cottage is the oldest building in Harbourville. The cottage has wooden plank floors and is crooked. Because of its proximity to the Ocean the shower and taps dispense salt water, but we provide a culligan cooler with as much fresh water as you will ever need. The wrap around deck is ideal for basking in the sun and grilling steak by the Bay.
This is a unique space, the cottage has a propane fireplace and wrap around deck. It is very simple, and if you like to get back to simplicity and are not looking for a typical Sheraton vacation, then this is your place. Here you can open a window and breathe fresh salt water air. Here, the air is always crisp and cool from the ocean. . The kitchen has a fridge, coffeemaker, microwave, propane cooking stove, dishes, etc.
The neighbourhood is a working fishing harbour, Bay of Fundy, the ocean and highest tide in the world.
  • This is a great place to stay. Beautiful views and friendly people in a quiet costal community. Lovely rock beach to stroll on and a quaint place to stay.

    Linda2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a fun cottage to stay in. The decor is delightful. The back deck is great to relax on and watch the fishing boats come in to harbour. A lobster pot is provided and a seafood store just a few steps away makes for an awesome meal. Definitely would stay here again.

    Diana2018-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • We so loved the character of the Quirky Cottage and being so close to the beach on the Bay of Fundy! It was amazing to see both high tide and low tide in Harbourville!!! At low tide, we picked amazing rocks and sea shells. The harbour and boats were literally right outside our door, and we saw them on the ocean floor at low tide and bobbing about at high tide! The cabin contained everything we needed to prepare meals, and we loved the nautical decor! We would stay there again in an instant! Great proximity to both Wolfville and the Annapolis Valley, as well as to Digby! Better than any hotel if you want to feel like you are in Nova Scotia!

    Pat2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Property was recently painted and was very clean. Beds were very comfortable. Internet and WiFi were a bonus. Big screen tv with free netflix. Seconds to the beach. Good charcoal BBQ. Bring your own briquettes. Not enough drinking glasses so we bought plastic. Nice wrap around deck. Great fireworks at the wharf, for no reason other than the pleasure of it. This I was told is a spontaneous occurrence. We did a lot a back road driving to take in the wonderful scenery.

    Terrence2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
